Final: You Never Said Those Words

"Lemme see your phone." She snatched his phone in just a second, not giving Trevor to react. "Hey, wait! give that back!" the poor guy retorted as Dana turned her back to him and quickly sent a message to Penelope. She gave it back at him with a smug smirk on her face.

"Argh, what did you do this time Dana?" he hurriedly rummaged through his sent messages and read what Dana texted. 'It will be awesome to see you at the party, Loffie'

"Cool men, that's cool." He said with a devastated expression.

"Why are you sulking? Loffie will definitely reply by your oh so cool text." Then a ring was heard indicating someone sent him a message. He looked through it and saw Penelope's name flashing in the screen. He read it and a smile suddenly grows on its face. Dana already knows what this is, patted his back and silently congratulated him. "I told you, Trevor."

"Haha, you are a really a matchmaker Dana. I'm so glad you are still here, my childhood best friend!" and then he hugged Dana and she hugged him back.

"Now get yourself ready nerd. Impress her and make sure you bring some condoms." Dana teased.

"What the hell no Dana, that is not happening you pervert."

"oh, feigning innocence, are we? Heh, I'm sure you are holding that for so long." And she made a gesture pointing his crotch.

Embarrassed, Trevor playfully smacked her shoulder while Dana laughed at his behavior.

...

"Dana, where are you? I'm freaking nervous right now!" Trevor said over the phone, waiting outside the party's premises. He still doesn't find Penelope and not even answering his call back. "Chill out dude, where are you? I'm inside, it so loud I cannot hear you barely." She shouted from the other line as Trevor heard a loud booming music and people cheering for someone like 'hook her up! Hook her up!' and that definitely gross. "Penelope and I supposed to meet outside, but she still isn't here. It's already one hour. I'm troubled that something could happened to her plus the fact that there is a heavy storm coming its way tonight according to news. "Don't be such a worry ass Trevor. Maybe she is just late. Try calling her again."

"Alright." Trevor then had rung Penelope's number a few times before she finally picked it up. "Uh, hey Loffie. Where are you? I've been waiting outside for hours."

"Oh, sorry Trevor. I'm on my way!" shortly after, Penelope appeared in front of him, panting her breath because it is already raining, and she ran all the way to the party from her dorm.

Trevor immediately ushered her to go inside and a loud music entered their ears. Students are gone wild as they dance on the floor carelessly and some students are even having the guts to drink alcohol into their minor age. There is no one stopping them as the party becomes wilder as it lasts longer.

"Let's dance Loffie!" Trevor invited her and without delay, she complied. They dance on the floor that it seems they are the only who shines among the others. As their face expressed delight and happiness and butterfly on their stomach kept turning around. This is the opportunity, Trevor said on his mind. He needs to tell her soon. "Loffie, I need you to tell you something."

"Yes, what is it Trevor?"

"I like you." Then blush suddenly creeped on to their face as both stops dancing and just stared at each other. Trevor patiently waits for her reply as his loud beating of his hearts vibrating through his whole body and Penelope, who was left speechless, can't utter a word as she only produces incoherent words.

"I-I Trevor this is so-"

"unexpected? I know but we both feel know right Loffie?"

"Y-yeah. I like you too. Trevor."

"Really?" Trevor beamed in excitement that his unrequited feeling from the former is being reciprocated. Penelope shyly nodded and Trevor thinks it's cute.

"Then, Loffie. Will you be my-" suddenly the music stopped, and everyone is watching them with a disgust look on their faces? Murmurs from different students aroused and Penelope a perceived they are badly talking about them. "Really? Trevor is so cheap to date a nerd like her."

"Maybe Trevor is just betting on his friend if he can make the nerd fall in love to him. Sad but Trevor just played her."

"What the hell, that's not true!" Trevor shouted and looked back at Penelope to try explaining things. Penelope simply dismissed him off as she turned around to walk away when Trevor holds her arms firmly, not letting her go that easily. Penelope with her head hang low, ashamed of herself, shouted- "Let go of me you liar!"

"NO! Loffie, you know that is not true. Believe me!"

"What is happening here, Trevor?" Dana suddenly pops up beside him, and Penelope caught her wicked smile across her face.

"Dana, I don't know what is happening, but someone planned this! They are ruining me from her." without Trevor knowing, Penelope freed from his grasp and ran towards the door. Before she could leave, the students around her suddenly whistle in cheered and she looked back to what it's source and made her regret from seeing it. Trevor is kissing Dana. So, he just lied? He is just one of the jocks and playboys in the school. Why did Penelope let herself be played? He's popular, so it is not surprised for something like this to happen.

"What the fuck, Dana?" Trevor harshly pulled away from Dana as he glared at her furiously.

"What? Can't I express my love to my best friend?"

"Argh, Dana you ruined everything!" and then he ran off to chase Penelope.

...

"Loffie, I'm sorry I-"

"No! How could you? You said you like me!"

"I like you! More than anything! And even myself!"

"You are lying! All of you!" before Penelope could run away. The strange man holds her arm stopping her completely. "Let go of me you psycho!". The storm is getting heavier as the thunder roars in anger. They are in the middle of the forest as Penelope kept yanking herself away from him. Trevor's grip is too strong, so she kicked his balls and Trevor cried in pain, completely letting her go. Wind harshly slapping through her face as she ran and ran until she finally hit the dead-end which is the cliff. Trevor catches up on her from behind.

"Loffie! Don't you dare."

"Go away from me you liar!"

"Loffie just please listen to me!"

"no, you are like just anybody else! You toyed and played me!"

"Loffie, please that is not true." Trevor started making advances towards her, but Penelope kept walking backward until she felt a loss of ground on her feet. She is at the edge. "Loffie, you will gonna fall! Please don't be stubborn. Come to me, hold my hand!" Trevor reaches out his hand from her, and the wind suddenly became stronger and harsher. Thunder strikes near them and both surprised at that and Penelope lost her balance. Luckily, Trevor sprinted towards her and holds her hand before she completely falls. "Hold on tight Loffie. Just hold on me on tight." Penelope is holding Trevor's hand as its life is dependent on it. With all force Trevor left, she hoists her up and hugged her. "Don't ever do that again, Loffie. Please, I'm begging you."

"I'm sorry-"

"Shh- no need to apologize, let's go back. Can you stand up?" Trevor said and both stands up, hold on to each other's arm. Peace finally resonating between the two but only last for a few seconds as a knife suddenly flew right to Penelope. Trevor immediately blocked it by his body and stabbed through his stomach.

"Fuck."

"Trevor!" panic surges on Penelope's body as she trembles. The sight of blood weakens her as she yelled Trevor's named and shouted for help. Blood continuously coming out from his body as Trevor's soul slipping away from him. Penelope cried and cried until a woman emerges from the woods. It was Dana.

"You? How could you do this?" but Dana's expression remains stoic as she approached both of them. "If you have chosen me Trevor, none of these is gonna happen. But look at you, you chose that stupid nerd rather than to your childhood best friend been there for you and protecting you."

"Dana, why?" Trevor only said as his body started to fall from the loss of blood. "I'm sorry Trevor. I hope you could forgive me."

"Never in my life I could forgive you on what have you done, Dana. I despise you the most. Ahh-" Dana walked towards to Trevor and hastily get the knife out of his stomach. He howled in pain as he curses. Penelope back away from her as she approaches her. "You." She said. "What Trevor sees in you? You boring shit." "I am better than you. I've always at his side most of the time yet you manage to take him away from me in just a split second. You started this, and you will also end this." She tackles her as Penelope ran through the cliff in fear. She was going to stab her when a hand from Dana's back holds her arm. It was Trevor, fighting for her. the two childhood best friend fights over a knife as Penelope slipped away from them. "LOFFIE! GET AWAY FROM HERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND CALL THE POLICE!" Trevor shouted.

"No, I'm not leaving you, Trevor!" she cried as she watches helplessly as Trevor fights Dana who aggressively removing the knife from her hands. Trevor winces in pain as Dana punched his wounded stomach. And in much great wrath, she pushes him off the cliff and both of them left speechless.

"Oh no." Dana suddenly realized what she had done. Immediately put the knife away and cupped her face. She didn't know blood was already at her hands and that made her terrified even more. Penelope became blank as everything around her falls slowly. Her seeing Trevor fall from the cliff made her traumatized. She suddenly screamed so loudly that siren can already be heard from afar and darkness envelops her completely.

...

"So, this is you? Trevor" Penelope said standing below the cliff where Dana fell. She saw them, Trevor's cold and lifeless body. Face lying on the ground. She can't believe that Trevor's body doesn't decompose, and it still not reeks in smells. Rain just flows through their body as silence envelops them. Dana's lifeless body is beside him. Eyes opened yet so distant from reality.

"Yes, Loffie, that is me." Penelope started crying again as she mourned in pain. "Trevor, I'm sorry." She continuously apologizes to him, but Trevor just simply smiled and patted her head.

"It's okay Loffie, It's my fault. I should have said it sooner, or I should not have said it to Dana. If I only knew Loffie. If I could just go back to time."

"Trevor, don't leave me please." But Trevor just lowered his head in sadness.

"Loffie, I- constantly think of us having a family." Trevor confesses and that just makes Penelope cried even more. "Trevor please."

"Loffie, If God gave me another chance to live again. I will wish for us to be together in our next lifetime. I will find you and you will find me. I hope destiny cooperates with us this time haha." Trevor smiled and Penelope hugged him like there is no tomorrow. She doesn't want to let go, but Trevor's time had come.

"Loffie, I will always be by your side. The moment our eyes met that time. I knew you were the one for me. Loffie, I- I know I never said those words before but I'm gonna say it now before I go." Penelope shakes her head vehemently as she said 'no' repeatedly.

"I love you Loffie." And that's where Penelope completely broke down. She sobbed and sobbed until there are no more tears coming through her eyes, " I love you too, Trevor. I love you forever and ever. Even if destiny is against us this time but I'm sure there is a fate between us that keeps binding the two us. I will find you, Trevor. I promised."

"Haha, I am the luckiest man in the world. Me too Loffie, even if everything is gone from me but there is one thing, I am assured that there is always one thing left from me.

And All that remains is

You.

Loffie."
