AREN'T YOU GOING TO CHECK ON ME?

This was a problem Mo Yurou had not thought about. When she threw the bowl of soup towards Ling Fen, Chen Li had rushed over and protected her which made the soup pour on him instead. Her heat became fearful all of a sudden, if Chen Li was involved then this was going to be difficult.

She had thought a lot about what kind of girlfriend Chen Li had. When she saw how he had protected Ling Fen in his arms, she was shocked and then a bad premonition rose inside her mind, what if Ling Fen was...

No! it could not be. How could someone like Chen Li fall for a low life like Ling Fen?

Ling Wen on the other hand was now full of fear. Everyone knew what sort of person Chen Li was, he would not let go until this matter was solved by his own terms. Just thinking about it made her shudder. She then looked towards Mo Yurou with hateful eyes, who knew that coming here would bring them so much losses? This was all Mo Yurou's fault.

Mo Yurou and Ling Wen only left after they had produced a couple of millions. This to them was not an issue. The only issue was that they had been thoroughly humiliated in that small hotel. Mo Yurou regretted even thinking of going there. That Xiao Lu, what sort of person was he? She felt that he was not as simple as she had initially thought.

They had just gotten out when both of their phones rang at the same time and as if it was a coincidence, it was both their fathers.

Elder Mo shouted through the phone, "What trouble did you cause outside? Come home right now!"

Ling Wang on the other hand shouted, "If I don't see you back home in ten minutes then never come back!"

Back at the hotel, Ling Fen was holding the cheque in her hands with gleaming eyes. Who knew that simply burning would make her a couple hundred thousand richer? The more she looked at it the happier she became.

She did not even notice a certain man looking at her with disappointment in his eyes. Chen Li looked at her smile and then asked her, "Is that piece of paper so good to look at?"

Ling Fen was in the middle of her happiness that she only looked up after a while. She then vaguely remembered that this was the person who had saved her so she answered, "It is not the piece of paper that is good but the words on them." She smiled happily but then remembered the soup and also remembered that she had forgotten to thank the other.

"Thank you for saving me back then." She thanked him earnestly. Chen Li nodded his head and stood there as if he was expecting her to say something else but when he looked at her, she had turned back to admiring the cheque.

His face darkened all of a sudden, "Aren't you going to ask how I am doing?"

Ling Fen looked up once again. Now that she had thanked the other, a heavy burden had been lifted off her chest. She did not understand why the person was still insisting on speaking to her when he had also received monetary compensation.

She looked up and said, "It must hurt a lot right? Why don't you go to the hospital and have your back treated?" she was giving him advise as someone who had saved her yet Chen Li's face was still dark.

"Don't you think you should be the one taking me to the hospital?" Chen Li asked while Ling Fen looked up once more. Her face showed slight irritation from being interrupted over and over again.

She asked Chen Li, "And why would I do that?"

Chen Li took a sharp breath, "Because I saved you."

Ling Fen thought that this was indeed a valid reason but she could still not help herself from saying, "I did not even ask for your help."

Chen Li frowned and wanted to retort but another voice interrupted, "Sister Fen, it does not work like that, he saved you out of his own volition so you should not say that and take him to the hospital," it was Yu Lili.

With her words, Chen Li nodded while Ling Fen felt a sudden feeling of guilt. She then looked towards Yu Lilli, patted her head and said, "Should I?"

Yu Lili nodded furiously, "You should also get your hand checked, it has swollen so much sister Fen, are you not feeling any pain?"

That was when Ling Fen noticed the burn marks. She was initially not feeling any pain but now that Yu Lili had pointed it out, it did start to hurt a little.

"Okay then, I will take you to the hospital." Ling Fen turned to Chen Li and just like that the two of them walked outside together.
