What happened?

"Where am I?"

Ling Fen asked while she sat up on the humongous bed. The room's design was simple but the things inside looked extremely expensive.

"My place… I brought you here because you seemed afraid of the hospital," Chen Li explained while Ling Fen nodded. It was a valid reason after all but the other was still quite a stranger to her.

"How long was I out for?" She asked while getting off the bed. Her feet felt like jelly when she stepped down she almost fell over.

Chen Li rushed to her side while saying, "Be careful!"

He was truly worried about her, Ling Fen could tell. She held onto her hand while leading her to a nearby chair. Ling Fen sighed softly as she sat down.

From what she heard, this Chen Li was quite a feared person. Just the mention of his name could easily make one wet his pants but the him she was seeing now was totally different. His mannerisms were clumsy but they were done with extreme care, no one had ever treated her like this.

She looked at her and then asked again, "How long was I out for?"

Chen Li looked up after he ensured that she was comfortable and then answered, "About four hours."

Four hours!! Ling Fen was shocked.

She got up with a strength she muttered from who knows where and ran to the window. She looked out at the already dark sky with a face full of worry.

She noticed her bag on the chair and retrieved it to look for her phone. Her mother and Gong Xu had left countless missed calls and messages, each of them full of worry.

Ling Fen had never gone back home late before so the two of them were worried sick about her. They had called several times but she was not picking up.

Ling Fen dialed her mother back and the other picked up immediately, "Xiao Fen!!!"

Her voice was shaking slightly as she asked, "Are you alright?" Gong Xu's voice could also be heard in the background.

Ling Fen smiled and then answered, "Mum…don't worry, I am fine."

Her voice seemed to ease her mother's worries. "Are you sure you are okay?"

"Yes I am fine, there was a little accident at the…."

She did not finish before Song Yu's voice echoed loudly, "Accident? What in the world happened?"

Ling Fen knew that she could not escape the details so she only told her mother, "Ling Wen came by,"

Song Yu understood immediately. Her hand which was holding the phone constricted slightly while the other one formed a tight fist. Gong Xu who was beside her at the moment almost shuddered. Song Yu's voice grew incredibly cold as she asked, "Are you hurt?"

Her force was forceful and chilly that it scared even Ling Fen who was far away, "Just a little bit mom, it has been taken care of."

Song Yu asked, "How little is 'a little'?"

Ling Fen shuddered, "My hand was burnt…." She explained but her mother abruptly cut the call.

Ling Fen stared at the beeping phone, she could not fathom what had happened to her mother all of a sudden.

She looked back at Chen Li who was still looking at her with a worried face.

She could tell that he wanted to ask something but there was a layer of fear obstructing him from asking whatever he wanted to ask.

"You want to ask what happened, right?"

Ling Fen asked instead. Chen Li looked up and nodded. This matter had been on his head ever since she had fainted.

"Even I don't know, I have just always been afraid of hospitals."

Chen Li widened his eyes, "I can look into it for you if you want."

He was worried that she would refuse. Seeing a hospital made her like this so what about seeing what had happened to her in person, how would she react then?

Ling Fen contemplated his offer. Now that she knew who he was, she also knew the type of resources this man had. If he wanted to know something, he would, even if it meant using every method possible.

She also wanted to know what had happened to her. It could not be a coincidence that hospitals made her feel this much fear, there had to be something that happened that she did not know about.

She nodded her head slightly and then told him, "Okay"

If there was anything to know then why wouldn't she? One of the most powerful men was offering to help her find out what happened to her so how could she let this opportunity pass.

She looked at Chen Li and asked a different question out of the blue,

"You like me don't you?"
