"Princess!"
"Mother! Father!"
Yllana dashed towards her parents and pulled her father out of the Empress's way just in time.
"Yllana..." a weak frail voice stirred up the still quiet air inside the room.
Princess Blanche was standing behind Yllana's mother. "Princess saved us. We owe her our life."
The light from Yllana's eyes dimmed as her gaze shifted from her mother's face to the Empress's sword which was pushed into her mother's chest. The Empress quickly withdrew her sword ready again for another blow.
The other knights rushed to attack the Empress.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Empress's body released a series of power outbursts around her. The ten Holy Knights flew away as well as the princess and Yllana's mother.
The Emperor's face paled while trying to scamper away from the crowd.
He was muttering curses while mentioning the Empress's name.
The Empress then shot a small light at the Emperor's knee making him fall down on the ground instantly. He fell hard on the ground and lost consciousness.
"Mhmp, anyone else who wants to escape today?" The elders on the sides shivered. Although they have high cultivation statuses, they still couldn't see through the Empress's power. That just means one thing - she is stronger than them.
"Holy One," one of the Knights rose up to his feet and his green eyes stared at Yllana's. "If we fight together, do you think, we can save the kingdom?"
Uncertain. The knights were never afraid of foes. What they feared the most is losing the reasons why they fight. All the other knights also looked at Yllana anticipating an answer.
"Chances are..." she took a deep breath, "60 percent." Is it enough? Maybe. Maybe not. But having a chance more than zero is better, right? The other knights' eyes brightened and straightened their backs. They walked towards the Empress and surrounded her in a flash.
"Disloyalty, we could achieve something better than just defending the kingdom yet you are all standing in my way into being a good Empress of this kingdom." The Empress smiled wickedly and showed her canine teeth. The sharp edges added a devilish aura around her.
Yllana looked at the knight with green eyes. With a nod, that 'knight' leaped through the air and four more followed him. Five knights are flying into the air in a circle while five are on the ground.
"Circle of St. Teron," his voice was relaxing to the ears like a swift fresh breeze from the seas. After uttering those words, a five-point star appeared from the sky. the points of the star fell on the heads of the five knights who are in the air. Blinding light flashed before forming a glowing crystal barrier around the royal court.
"Princess, please take care of my mother," Princess Blanche nodded and carried Yllana's mother to the elders. They urged her to stay behind them as well as Yllana's father too.
Cold. Eerie. The temperature inside the room dropped to a freezing point. No one saw Yllana muttering a few phrases. Before anyone could fathom what happened, a thick white mist has already formed inside the crystal barrier.
"Oh, so we have a dual-class now at the ranks of the Holy Knights? You just keep on surprising me...Yllana Saber." the Empress's voice sounded everywhere within the mist.
"She's not trying to make them talk. She's up to something," everyone heard the princess' words.
"Hehehe, silly brat. I knew you were more than just the princess who avoided the poison apple."
Clang! Clang! Clang!
a series of clashing metals shocked the knights on the ground. They could feel the heavy pressure that the Empress's power was releasing on them. They could hardly walk and find her. Add the metal helmets that only reveal their eyes, their sight was almost blocked.
"Stupid f*cking helmet!" one of the Holy Knights cursed under his breath and threw away his helmet to see better.
"Seventh," another whisper floated in the air with a shrill scream of a girl.
"Shadow serpents," Yllana uttered slowly while touching the ground. A few inky black snakes flowed out of her fingertips like shadows stretching to the ground, trying to find movements. Once that they find something moving, they will alert Yllana to where it is located. Her shadow serpents located five bodies moving on the ground. One wasn't moving anymore.
Then they all heard a snicker, "Shadow...serpents," Yllana's hand that was on the ground trembled. "What?!" Everybody almost screamed at the same time. The Empress is also a mage? She's also a dual-class?
While Yllana was looking around for the source of the sound, a black snake almost identical to the ones she just released was rushing at her. She quickly jumped to avoid touching it.
Her shadow serpents disappeared.
Slash!
A silver ray of light beamed through the mist into the direction of the second source of snakes. Two drops of blood dripped somewhere.
