What's happening to us?

"Hey Steven, is that invitation still open? I believe Jennie loves to bandage and reopen my wounds! She left me a voicemail while I drove home, saying it is unlikely for her to arrive home tonight because the airline delayed her flight. I just reached home, and I need to drink my frustration." He told his best friend.

The other end of the line remained mute. Steven knew that Jackson felt hurt, and when he got heartbroken, alcohol usually became his best friend.

After a few seconds, Steven replied, "I got a date, plus she is a Hermosa Mujer. I apologize, brother. However, I will book you a ticket. If you can arrange a lady in time, then you can come over. Although, that is impossible because Jennie is the only woman you have eternally accepted. Anyway, I envy you, dude, and I got to hang up cause this party is legit."

As the call ended, Jackson rested in bed questioning how many times Jennie intended to toy with his heart. Suddenly an idea occurred to him. It was not an excellent idea. But it was the best he could come up with, in a brief period. He got up, changed his outfits, and left the house.

The doorbell to the Harper house rang.

"Julie, forget that book and answer the door!" Jackson heard Mrs. Harper scream at her daughter.

Their door open, and Julie stood at the entrance staring at his nervous face.

"Jackson, what brings you here at this hour? Do you recognize it is nine o'clock? She asked him. He did not remember how to respond at first, then Jackson became bold and asked.

"Do you want to go on a date with me? Not a romantic date, but a friendly one. My buddy Steven invited me to this party, except I need a plus one. And as you realized by now, my wife is not at home." he told her.

Jackson noticed that Julie understood his sincerity. Still, she did not know him or his friend, and maybe she did not desire to be someone else's replacement. He knew Julie was about to reject him when her mother interrupted her.

"How lovely, she accepts your invite. Julie, go to your room and change into something appropriate, and do not forget to wear makeup!" She ordered her daughter.

Jackson felt relieved knowing that Julie could not deny her mother the happiness of witnessing her socializing with people. Julie agreed and moved to her bedroom to get dressed. Jackson stared at his watch, and he wondered what is taking Julie this long to get ready.

After forty minutes, she came down the stairs, "How Do I Look? Julie asked them. She wore a red asymmetric sequin plunging V-neck strappy dress, with a Zoey lace up chunky heel sandal. Her face was gorgeous, the Smokey makeup kindled her brown eyes. She loosened her hair and allowed her curly jet black hair to fall, meeting her waist.

"Thanks to Jennie and our regular visits to countless salons and boutiques. I can instantly identify outstanding details concerning ladies." He told himself, feeling discouraged about that fact.

Jackson, for a minute, felt lust toward Julie before relieving his mind of such thoughts.

"You look good, can we leave now?" He asked her.

Jackson sensed the tension in him, and he needed to get out for a chilly breeze. The passion was within, and he did not crave it, but it was just there.

"Sure!" She answered, wondering why he hastily replied to her question.

They told Mrs. Harper goodbye and drove off.

"Jackson! Do not space out on me when I ask you a question." Jennie said calmly in a flat tone. Jackson ignored his memories of the past events of that night and smiled at his wife.

"Steven and I went to a party and had a few drinks, but let's discuss that another time. Tonight, it is just us, and I yearned for this moment for ten months. Please permit me to enjoy every minute." Jackson told his wife as he walked toward her and knelt outside the tub.

Jennie smiled while her partner removed her shower cap. He grabbed the shampoo and applied it to her hair, massaging it smoothly and rinsed it. Afterward, he removed his clothes and was practically in the tub when he got stopped.

"I am sorry, babe. I can not do this right now." Jennie spoke carefully as she withdrew herself from his arms and left the tub. Jackson appeared bewildered and paused for five minutes before gathering his thoughts. Jennie had retreated from the bathroom and when to the bedroom to get dressed.

Jackson entered the room and swiftly stopped himself from saying everything he had in mind. He watched his spouse, and she seemed odd. Jennie's face, stomach, and moles had darkened. Jackson observed that she had immense breasts, and her body was more glowing than average.

"Jennie, you changed." He told her.

She did not establish eye contact with him.

"What nonsense are you saying? I spent eleven months in another country. That means profound changes will occur in my body," she told Jackson, embracing and kissing him. Still, her excuse did not seem sensible to her husband.

"That's not the problem, and my concern is your body, it feels unfamiliar. Babe, I am sorry. However, we can't continue." He told Jennie, drawing away from her grip.

Jackson returned to the mattress. He lies in bed sleepy, but his mind is restless. Jennie knew this was what she desired, yet why did her chest burn when Jackson refused her? She got clothed and got into the bed. However, Jackson turned his back to her. Vaguely, Jennie hugged her husband around the waist and sobbed in silence.

Couples have difficulties in every relationship. However, Jackson never thought it would be Jennie and him in this kind of situation. 'I promise that I would never hurt her intentionally. Except I'm exhibiting a character contrast to what I promised.' He thought while closing his eyes for the night.
