Jennie ran out of the room in tears, and as she got towards the exit, a voice stopped her from taking a step forward.

"I trusted you!" Rose said.

Jennie watched tears fall from her mother-in-law's eyes, and that made her feel even worse than before.

"Mom." She softly called as Rose approached her.

However, the expression on her mother-in-law face proof that she did not come out to chit-chat with Jennie. The moment Rose got closer, she landed a violent slap into Jennie's ear.

"My sons and I trusted you and you betrayed all of us. I have loved you for so long, how could you do this to me!" Rose screamed as she fiercely shook Jennie, and yet she did not react nor did she speak.

Steven and the others heard the commotion outside, so they raced out of the room to check what had happened.

"Mom! Please stop. None of this is good for your health." Steven said as he gently tried to pull Rose away from Jennie.

"She broke your brother's heart. She's the reason he's laying in there." Rose cried after she had let go of Jennie.

"I know, mom. I know."

Jackson shut his eyes tightly as he listened to the noise from outside. He then clutched onto the blanket and allowed his hurt to cut through his heart and mind.

Jennie held tightly to her clothes as she wept. She could not bear the fact that those who had given her their all were the same people she had wounded.

"Mom, I am sorry." Jennie whispered.

"You should be!" Rose screamed.

Steven could see how enraged Rose was and he felt like he needed to do something to calm the situation, so he embraced Rose tightly.

On the other hand, Miya, Julie, Chris, and Mr. and Mrs. Harper remained silent since they knew not to interfere in an internal family affair.

"He's going to be fine, mom." Steven said.

"We both know he won't. She means everything to him. I'm not sure if my son is ever going to be the same again." Rose mumbled.

Jennie could not handle the words of her mother-in-law because they felt like razor blades tearing through her heart.

"I am so sorry." She mumbled before running out of the ward.

A moment later, Steven gently removed his arms from around Rose, held onto her hands and led her to the bench, then they both sat down.

"Babe, where are you going?" Steven asked when he saw Julie walking toward the door.

"I need some fresh air." She replied.

Steven could tell by the way Julie emotionlessly gazed at him that he could get into a similar situation as Jennie if he doesn't act soon and get Chloe off his back. He watched Julie walk out the door before letting out a depressing sigh.

"Are you okay, son?" Rose asked when she noticed the sadness in his eyes.

"I am fine, mom. Don't worried about me." Steven replied.

"I am sorry for overacting."

"It fine. You are not the one who needs to be apologizing."

Julie ran around the hospital for some time until she found Jennie sitting alone in the hospital's garden.

"Hey." She softly said as she sat down next to Jennie.

"Are you here to judge me too?" Jennie asked.

Julie waited for a few seconds to answer the question because she could tell that Jennie was hurting too.

"No. I am not denying the fact that what you did was wrong. But I am also acknowledging that you love Jackson."

"Umm, love. What a fun word it is. It's the reason why you want to live, and it is also the reason why you feel like dying."

"Ha! That's true."

The two ladies sat quietly for a while without talking as they gazed at the flower. But after a few minutes, Julie broke the silence.

"You clearly love him deeply, so why did you do it?" She asked with her eyes focused on Jennie.

"While did I do it? That's not relevant now, right? It's not like things will change if everyone knew why I did it. The truth is, I am a bit like Chloe. Ha! I am going to lose Jackson, just like she lost Steven."

"I am sure your love is strong enough to overcome this."

Jennie burst into laughter, but there was no joy in her voice. She looked pitiful in Julie's eyes as she broke down into tears.

"You know what? We all used to think the same thing about Chloe and Steven, and now, look at where their love ended. He is hooked on another, and she is left miserable and all by herself. There will always be a next after you mess up!" Jennie harshly said.

"I am not the cause that they are not together!!" Julie replied out of self-defense.

"Well, you sure are the reason he can't go back to her. Steven had always gone back to Chloe after they split, but once you came into the picture, he took a break from her and is now focusing on you."

"What nonsense are you spouting to my girlfriend?" Steven yelled.

He was not satisfied with Julie being alone, so he came down to accompany her. After a brief search he saw she and Jennie together in the garden and right now, he felt glad that he decided to check up on them.

"Ho, Steven." Jennie innocently called out.

"You messed up your marriage and now you want to cause trouble for mine relationship." Steven shouted.

"Oh, no! I don't have any ill intention towards you and Julie. I was simply stating the truth."

"What do you know about speaking the truth when all you have been doing for years is lying."

With a painful heart, Jennie angrily jumped out of her seat out of rage with a frown on her face.

"You! That's not fair!" She shouted.

"You know what's not fair? It's you being here after what you have done, so leave." Steven stated.

"I am not leaving. I am still Mrs. David, and by law, I have the right to be here."

"Is that so?"

Julie felt angry, sad and most of all, she had had enough of the both of them argument, so she stood up and walked away.

"Babe, where are you going?" Steven worriedly asked.

"Somewhere that doesn't have you." Julie mumbled before walking out of the door.

Steven gazed back at Jennie with anger in his eyes, but deep down in his heart, he was mad at himself too.

"What is wrong with you? Why would you say such a mean thing to Julie? Looking at you now, I can't recognize the Jennie that I have known for years." Steven said before running after Julie.

"I don't recognized myself either." Jennie mumbled.

She then helplessly sat back on the bench, then bowed her head into her palms and bitterly wept.
