Unspoken desire

The wind blew aggressively against Miya's face, sending her hair in every direction as she stared into Jackson's eyes.

"What do you mean?" Miya mumbled, digging her fingers into the sand.

"Well… Ummm… Milo and Milu are men. Well they are babies now but they won't stay like that forever. And they love you even though they can't say it." Jackson mumbled, taking his eyes off her and focusing on the ocean.

"Oh,"

"I know how much my mother means to me, and the love I have for her is endless. I think they feel the same way even though they can't speak now."

"How would you know that?"

"Because you are an incredible mother. I'm lucky to have my kids by you."

Silence fell between them as they watched the waves of the ocean without uttering another word.

Thank you." Miya finally said, gazing at Jackson.

Then he turned to face her, and when his gaze met her eyes, he couldn't look away.

"W-e should… get going. It's getting late." Jackson mumbled beneath his breath with his eyes still center on hers.

"Yeah," Miya mumbled, gazing away from him.

A soft sigh escape Jackson's lips as he stood to his feet. Then he extended his hand to Miya, and she grabbed onto it. Then he helped her to her feet.

A soft smile surfaced on Miya's lips when her eyes met his gaze. Then she walked back to the car, leaving Jackson staring behind her.

A few minutes later, they were back on the highway and Jackson kept stealing a glance at Miya every few seconds.

The drive home was filled with nothing but silence, and once they entered the mansion, both of them felt like they could finally breathe again.

"Mother," Jackson called out, searching the living room.

"Shhh! You will wake the babies up." Rose mumbled, walking down the stairs.

"Where are they?"

"In their new nursery."

"How can I wake them up when they are in the east wing?"

"Well, sound travels faster."

Miya couldn't help but softly laughed at Rose's remark. Then she gaze at Jackson and said, "New Nursery,"

"Yeah, you want to check it out?" He replied, beaming at her.

A look of hesitation crossed Miya's face. Then she softly sighed and said, "Sure."

The two then walked up the stairs, but after reaching the fifth stairs, Jackson stopped, stared at his mother, and said, "Are you not coming?"

"No, you kids go ahead." Rose mumbled.

His lip curved into a smile while staring at his mother, then he and Miya headed upstairs.

When they came to the west wing, Jackson grabbed Miya's wrist, stopping her from opening the door.

"Close your eyes." He mumbled when she stared at him.

"Why?" Miya softly asked, gazing down at his hand around her wrist.

"Please."

"Fine."

The moment Miya closed her eyes, she felt Jackson let go of her wrist and his hand covering her eyes.

"What are you doing?" Miya mumbled, feeling her heart rapidly beating.

"No peeking." Jackson whispered, unlocking the door.

Then he slowly guided her into the room and withdrew his hand to his side.

"You can look." Jackson mumbled with a faint smile on his lips.

Miya slowly raised her eyelids and stared wide-eyed at the fancy pink and blue ottoman and chair set, cute angels framed photographs, traditional dresser, and the Elegant White and Gold Royal Baby Cribs.

Then she stayed away from the enormous closet and focused her sight on Jackson.

"Do you like it?" Jackson mumbled, staring deep into her eyes.

"I do." Miya said, feeling tears welling up in her eyelids.

"Really?"

"Yeah!"

The bright smile on her face was all Jackson needed to know that she was happy with it.

Suddenly tears began to roll down her cheeks, and he used his coat sleeve to gently dry her face.

"Are these happy tears?" Jackson mumbled.

"Yes," Miya whispered, slightly nodding her head.

For a moment, Jackson took his focus off her and gazed at the babies cribs.

"We better leave before they wake up."

"Yeah, I would love to hold them so badly, but I don't think I'm ready for the price that comes with it."

Both of them burst into a silent laughter before quietly leaving the room. Then they walked down the hallway without talking.

When Jackson and Miya arrived at the third room door in the west wing, he grabbed her hand and led her inside.

"Ta-da! Welcome to your bedroom!" Jackson said, smiling with his eyes.

"What did you do?" Miya mumbled, blankly staring at him.

"You hate it?"

"Well…"

Without finishing her statement, she left Jackson standing and took a tour around the room.

Then she returned a few minutes later, and blankly stared at him without uttering a word.

"You hate it. I will call 'GoldCoast Design' tomorrow to change the interior design of the room to your liking." Jackson mumbled, keeping his smile.

"I don't hate the interior design, I love it." Miya said with a straight face.

"You clearly don't seem happy. So what's the problem?"

"Why are you doing all this for me?"

It grew silent as they stared into each other's eyes without saying a word for a few minutes.

"You have given me something that I always wanted, and that is to be a father. If you ask me for anything, I will do it in a heartbeat because it's my way of thanking you." Jackson finally said.

For a moment, stared into her eyes, striving to say what was truly in his heart, but he could bring himself to say it.

"Thank you. The room is beautiful. I truly love it." Miya mumbled, softly smiling at him.

"Are you being honest?"

"Yes, I'm. I better take a shower and change into something comfortable."

"Right. Good night then."

After a brief hesitation, Jackson walked out of the room, and headed into his bedroom.

The moment he shut his door, his phone began vibrating in his pocket. So he pulled it out and answered the call.

"So, are really to explain?" Steven's voice echoed into his ear.

"Not tonight. I'm tired and sleepy." Jackson mumbled, sitting on the edge of his bed.

"Meet me at the bar tomorrow at five p.m. Don't show up, and you can forget about being my best man."

"Fine. Wait! Have you told Chloe that you are getting married?"

The line grew silent for a moment. Then Steven's voice echoed from the speakers, "No, I haven't. Should I?"

"You better do to give both of you closure if you don't want any last minute issues."

"Fine. I will do it tomorrow, but our date still stands."
