Butterfly Kisses

Our last day away from Azuchi felt too short. After answering morning letters and eating we went for a walk, enjoying the seclusion of this place for as long as we could before we were back in public where the three of us will not be able to be so affectionate in the open air. The sun was starting to get low, the songs of the birds turned to the sounds of evening as we sat on a bench near the waterfall. I lay with my head on Nobunaga's lap and my hips between Hideyoshi's thighs. We were all lost in our own thoughts, but I suspect we are all fixated on the same topic: returning home.

The air had turned cold and I was too lost in thought to notice my body's response until one of Nobunaga's warm fingers started circling my erect nipple and Hideyoshi started to rub my thigh. "We should go inside and get warm." The honey blond suggests.

Nobunaga pressed a little harder as he continued to circle and then pinch through my silk robe "Or we could warm her up out here." He says playfully after my little whine subsides.

Hideyoshi's hand slides between my robe, lightly caressing my inner thigh. I arched my back in response to their teasing, rubbing my seat against Hideyoshi and the back of my head against Nobunaga. "You two are just trying to distract from what's coming."

Nobunaga's hand slides under my robe to the other breast and starts circled the alert peak. "Yes, and I would like to see something else come before tomorrow."

Hideyoshi has been skimming the skin between my thighs, stopping just before reaching my gates. "We should talk about it Nobu—"

Nobunaga sighs but doesn't stop playing with my breast. "Tomorrow morning we return to Azuchi. The three of us won't be spending our days like we have for the last week or especially the last two days. That isn't different than how it would be even if we weren't three now. There is work to get back to, work we've been away from long enough."

"When will we all be together again after we return?" I ask the question all of us are wondering and silence falls amongst us.

Their hands leave my body and we head back to our room in silence. The food and sake is already set up in the room and waiting for us. Hideyoshi and I sat to begin eating but Nobunaga went to grab the jar of konpeito he's been hiding from Hideyoshi ever since we summoned him. He had a handful of his candies and two already in his mouth when he sat down beside me. Hideyoshi sighed and I could feel how much effort it was taking to not take the candies away.

I sighed. "If this is to be one of our last nights for awhile, is this really how the two of you want to spend it?"

Nobunaga spoke up. "No. When we get back I'll summon you to the tenshu every night. It isn't odd for me to have private meetings with him outside of counsel."

"Until I'm married." Hideyoshi whispered and we both turned our attention to him. His features had gone dark. "We already discussed this. I should take a wife soon and give her a child. That takes time. Time away from us."

I started to feel jealous for a woman who hasn't even been chosen yet. I felt protective over him as well. He's ours, he belongs to us and we belong to him. Without thinking I climbed onto him and wrapped my limbs around him, not realizing Nobunaga had also moved to be closer to him, crawling behind him, his legs coming around us and his arms circling our lovers torso as he starts kissing his neck. Hideyoshi's precious noises as we kiss him only make things worse. Those are ours too.

My mind conjured up images of him with another woman, making love to her and wondering if when he's with his wife his initial resolve of it being to give her a child turns into something more? What if he leaves us for his wife? Am I wrong to not want that?

All these thoughts brought tears to my eyes and as they started to spill onto my cheeks Hideyoshi and Nobunaga both stopped. My loyal lover brushed the back of his fingers against my cheek before cupping my face. "Rina—" I opened my eyes to see a pair of golden eyes and a pair of carnelian eyes looking concerned and determined. "I love you both. We aren't going to be pulled apart."

Nobunaga spoke with his authority as the leader, "you can feel it can't you? The knot that we've created between the three of us. None of us want out of this arrangement, that's why we are so worried about the future. No more worrying. We make it work."

Hideyoshi and I both laughed at Nobunaga for commanding us like his soldiers in this moment. "Yes Lord Oda." I said in a soldier's tone.

We parted and ate. With some of the tension gone from our conversation we were able to laugh throughout the meal.

Before climbing into bed they played a song for me to dance to, something dreamy and gentle. I climbed into the futon between them.

It was the slowest, most intimate, sex the three of us have had up to this point. Nothing felt rushed it just felt warm. We praised each other with declarations of love. Afterward we lay there; Nobunaga holding Hideyoshi and me curled up in front of both of them, their arms pulled me close. I focused on soaking up every bit of that warmth until the sound of their heavy breathing lulled me to sleep.

The dream came over me quickly. I was dancing in the forest near my childhood home when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something white dart away. As I turn to chase it I saw one glowing white peacock feather on the ground. After picking the feather up I chased after it. Something about the trees felt odd, and the air felt hot.

Just as I thought I saw the tips of the peacocks glowing tail feathers I reached the end of the trees and stopped as my village came into view, unable to take another step forward.

The glowing peacock rose into the sky, eclipsing the moon. When it settled into the sky it shed a tear. It was as if my village was inside of a water bubble the peacock's tear hit. It rippled and shook the image of my village until the bubble broke.

The image shifted in an instant from a peaceful, sleeping, town into a village ablaze. I tried to run into the village thinking maybe I could pull at least one person from the flames. My body would not obey my mind and I was forced to stand there and watch as the buildings crumbled. The embers began to float up into the air and as they floated towards the white peacock they transformed from small glowing flecks into white butterflies. They flew to the peacock and became part of the feathers of her glowing white body.

I woke up, sweaty and shaking. I carefully slid out of the futon to not wake Nobunaga or Hideyoshi. I made my way to the patio and sat on the hard flooring. I tried processing what my mind had conjured, tried to find meaning, the only one I could come up with sent shivers through me.

It had been well over an hour when Nobunaga rose from the futon and found me. "What's keeping my phoenix awake now?" He asks as he sits down next to me. He leans in towards me, brings an arm behind me and kisses the shoulder closest to him.

I turned to him and brushed my nose to his. "Nothing you can't make better with your touch."

He pulled me into his lap. "Will your flames ever be satisfied?" He asked before burying his face into the crook of my neck.

My hands ran through his hair and I let my head fall back to expose more of my neck to him. "The more you feed a fire the bigger it gets."

He pulled away. "Then maybe you need a break so you don't consume my entire kingdom."

My head comes forward and gripped his robe. "I don't need to consume your entire kingdom if I have its leader."

He laughed before kissing me. "I'm sure I'm up to the task." He says between kissing.

He picked me up and gently lay me down on the floor. He pressed his hips against mine as he kissed me and took one of my breasts in his hand. Feeling him grow for me brings a wave of pleasure.

I try to banish the images from my dream as my husband opens my robe to the night air and his lips and tongue glide across my skin. The images don't fade until I feel his tongue against my gates. By the time he's entering me the only image still in my mind is the glowing bird. I grip his hips digging my nails into him, begging his thrusts to banish that last image and for a moment of shared ecstasy is works. Only he can do this for me. Only the devil has the power to make my nightmares melt away.

He carried me back to the futon. We had to stifle laughter when we saw that Hideyoshi had replaced me with a pillow in his arms. I nested in Nobunaga's arms as he stroked my lower back. I looked up at him one last time before trying to fall back asleep. His eyes were still on me and we shared a silent "I love you."
