Taking Action

"Old beast, you better tell us everything you know, or else!" Sabal had gotten angry since the Doctor kept telling them useless information. They still had no idea where Yilas could be, only knowing she was hurt was enough reason for Sabal to kill every beast in this city.

"Haizz… I already told you everything I know." Goat Doctor didn't seem to be fazed by the killing intent coming from a beast-man that was double his size. He twisted his long beard and thought a bit harder.

"Every little detail can help Doctor, please, any beast that might have more information?" Viosus sat down on the hay bed since a while ago he had felt like he couldn't contain his anger inside him anymore. The horrible things that they did to Yilas, the pain she had to endure while he stayed safely at the Boar clan. He didn't know how he would act once he found her.

"I think I heard a rumor going around within the soldier beasts, though I don't know how much of it is true. Yes, indeed, indeed there is." The Goat Doctor walked around in a circle, visibly anxious for some reason.

"What is it? Does it have anything to do with Yilas or not?" Sabal spoke bluntly, they were wasting time sitting here waiting for this old beast to speak, he thought.

"Yes, yes, I think they spoke of some miracle that had happened when they captured your Master in the Forest. There was a beast that was on the brink of death, and somehow your Master saved his life. I think it was one of the generals of the city's court." The Goat Doctor nodded "Every beast in the city is talking about this, I'm sure it doesn't help your Master's safety. Have you heard anything like that from her?"

Viosus furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head, he had been with Yilas her whole life, there was no possible way that he wouldn't know. Sabal standing from the side crossed his arm, thinking Yilas had never shown any sign of having such abilities.

"I think it's odd too, her old injuries would have healed much better if she had that thing that they spoke about." The Goat Doctor remembered Yilas's eyes wound and her progress. It was nothing out of the ordinary compared to other females.

"But since she is believed to be so valuable, they wouldn't let her go so easily." Viosus finally stood up, he looked to Sabal for reassurance and without exchanging a word, they nodded in agreement. "We are going to the city."

After Yilas ate the food, she didn't want to entertain Zarek anymore. Maybe because of it he took her to a separate tent and locked her up there. At least this time, Yilas was only loosely detained. Besides the guard outside the tent, Yilas had the tent to herself.

There was only a hay bed, the tent was pretty much empty, they must have made sure that there was nothing she could use to escape. Tiredly laying on the bed, Yilas couldn't help but worry about her current situation.

"How can I be this unlucky?" Yilas grunted to herself tossing from side to side. There has been nothing but bad stuff happening to her lately. "Maybe my existence on its own is enough to be cursed, this body wasn't meant to live until now."

Yilas had thought about how she could do impossible stuff like wielding magic forces and healing others with her blood, there could only be one answer: this was not a normal person body that she had possessed. There were too many questions but not enough answers. Heck, there was not even a lead for her to start understanding. The more Yilas thought about it, the more her head hurt.

"I wonder how Mohsen is doing…" Yilas sighed remembering her teacher. Back then when they were captured, Mohsen was beaten up to pulps, he was practically hanging onto his life by a thread when she healed him. Although his condition improved, Yilas never figured out what happened to him after that, which made her extremely worried. "I don't even know the long-term effect of my blood entering their bodies, how would I know if he's still even alive."

Yilas threw her forearm over her eyes, her heart ached so much imagining Mohsen could be dead already. What if Bryok killed him because he was a traitor? Yilas's thoughts kept getting darker and darker.

"He can't be dead, do you even know how smart he is?" Yilas tried to wipe away all the negative feelings in her heart, she believed her teacher was strong and reliable, he would make it out alive. "You gotta believe in yourself too, you saw what happened to Zassar, he is going to be fine, as well as the other person…"

"What other person?" A deep voice sounded like thunder to Yilas's ears. Zarek entered the room while Yilas was still laying on the bed talking to herself, he had caught a little bit of what had slipped her mouth just now.

Yilas jumped as soon as she heard Zarek's voice, she quickly turned to all four like a cat just landed from a high jump. He had only stepped one foot inside the tent yet Yilas felt like everything was being intruded.

"Wh-what are you doing here?" Yilas's heart was beating like crazy, if she kept being scared like this her life span would be cut in half, she thought.

"I asked you first, isn't it? What is a "person". Your speech does not sound like any dialect I have ever heard from another clan."

Zarek held some fur clothing in his hands, he placed it neatly to Yilas before folding his legs in and sat on the floor, two steps away from her. The pieces of clothing Yilas had on now were shredded in many places, she hadn't noticed since she was busy worrying about her life. But it was excruciating for Zarek to focus. The barely hanging tied-top Yilas had on now was hardly doing its job of covering her bosom. Realizing it a bit too late, Yilas's face turned into a tomato, and immediately used the clothing Zarek and handed her to cover her front side.

"Put this on first before answering that." Zarek turned away, Yilas caught a glimpse of his face turning red as well.

"Wh-Why didn't you say anything?" Yilas was so embarrassed she couldn't even look Zarek in the eyes. Sensing her discomfort, Zarek turned his long back towards her, giving her some sense of privacy.

"I just haven't had a good opportunity to bring it up. But you don't have to worry, centaur species are naturally carefree, we don't tend to cover ourselves with much clothing normally so it wasn't something I was not partially trying to notice." Zarek crossed his arms over his muscular chest.

Although normally having a slimmer physics than other beast-men, centaurs never lack lean muscle, their endurance was something that any beast would be fearful of. And of course, it was something that male centaurs used to seduce females. This case was very true when it came to Zarek's body, he was lean and muscular. Some would say he was too thin but if they were to inspect further, they would realize how every line of muscle and every vein in his body knitted together tightly as if they were melted from pure gold, building an impenetrable armor on the beast-man.
