Chapter 5- I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me!(Edited)

Chapter 5

"Brody!" yelled Calum across the entrance of the Viridian City Gym. "I'm heading to the hospital now; make sure you lock up the gym doors. Also, don't forget to place the emergency closure notice on the door before you leave!" Calum finished as he made his way to the gym entrance.

Brody, the gym manager, looked up into the eager eyes of his overly exuberant boss in awe. Ten minutes ago, the gym had received an emergency phone call from the Blake home to inform the currently preoccupied gym leader that his wife was going into labor. Hearing the joyous news, Calum immediately prepared himself for travel, completely ignoring the latest trainer in front of him, mid-battle.

Not wanting to end his challenge, the stubborn teenager called out his following command. "Now Machamp, finish it! Use CROSS CHOP!" "Champ!" It cried as it charged forward, arms crossed in a blinding white light. Hearing the command of the trainer brought back Calum's attention. Looking at the boy who clearly overheard his family's conversation and blatantly continued his antics, Calum lost his usually calm demeanor.

Eyes narrowed into slits, Calum in return called out to his partner Pokémon to quickly end this charade. "Weavile, dodge it with AGILITY!" "Then follow it up with HONE CLAWS and finish it with SLASH!" Sensing its trainers' anger within his commands of finality, Weavile sneered at the poor ignorant pair before him as it crouched and cried out to his partner in confirmation. "Vile!" he roared.

Machamp, finally in place for his attack, sneered back at the tiny thing before it as he released his signature move. "Machamp!" he roared as his four blazing white arms rushed forward to smash its opponent into oblivion. Too bad for him, within a fraction of a second before the move could make contact, Weavile's s form had vanished entirely from its sight. Cold sweat instantly released from trainer and Pokémon alike at the realization. The speed that this Pokémon displayed made it evident that he was being toyed with previously.

An entire six-on-six battle against a gym leader he was sure he could defeat with the three fighting types alone on his team, he charged in with confidence. Yet here he stood at an evident loss. Calum, the gym leader, had only used two of his six Pokémon, and it took Josh, who we now know is the challenging trainer's name, all five of his previous Pokémon to take down that single Shiftry. Its power and special attack far more significant than he imagined. Hope-filled his eyes as it fell to his Charizard. That same hope quickly died as he watched the Weavile before him end his original partner with a combination of AGILITY into a godspeed-like SLASH attack.

Josh watched it all in slow motion. Weavile reappeared six paces behind his Machamp claws aglow in a brilliant white that could match his own Pokémon's previous attack before it increased its shine and shifted into a blinding white. With the same speed it had shown previously, the vile Pokémon before him seemed to have moved into a pace that left reality-defying after images, as it finally made its way to the Machamp in front of it, completely unaware of its end. He watched as that evil-looking claw slashed across the back of his Machamp, sending the large Pokémon across the gym, smashing into the corresponding wall.

As the smoke and debris finally cleared, Brody, the Gym manager, and the referee called the end of the fight. "Machamp is unable to battle, and The Winner is Gym Leader Calum!" No longer wanting to stand on ceremony, Calum quickly returned his Weavile as he thanked it before charging toward the gym entrance barking out orders to Brody.

After a five-minute sprint, Calum finally made his way to the Viridian City Medical Center. With Umbreon hot on his trail, Calum went straight to the Information desk to find his wife. Before he could even utter a single word, he heard a familiar voice call to him. "Dad over here!" Calum looked down the hall to his right, spotting his youngest son Calvin. He then nodded to the smiling but understanding Information Desk Greeter before him before he charged over to his son.

Placing his hands on his son's corresponding shoulders, he knelt in front of him. "What happened?" he asked. From shock or pure relief of his father finally being here, Calvin's nerves finally relaxed as his pent-up anxiousness began the long flow of tears down his face. Realizing his little man was in shock, he held the boy close into a tight embrace—relief embracing him as he received his reply from a voice behind him.

"She's okay, dad; Alice just seems to be quite the impatient one."

Releasing his son and standing to face the voice of reason behind him, he came face to face with his eldest. With a grin on his face, Corey eyed his near tears father as he shook his head and chuckled. Calum, not caring about the apparent amusement on his son's face, walked the short distance between them to take him into his embrace. "You did good, son, thank you." He whispered. Corey smiled as he embraced his father in return.

Knowing how impatient his father could be, he continued to speak. "They are waiting for you three doors down." He stated as he released his father from his arms. Not wanting to look like a crybaby in front of his boys, he nodded in confirmation as he made his way to his wife.

Calum quickly knocked and entered the room. Laying before him in a screaming fit was his wife yelling bloody murder, her longtime partner Espeon on the floor beside her, Doctor West, their family friend, two nurses, and a Blissey. Noticing his entrance Dr. West turned her head to him with a calm smile on her face beckoning him forward. "Perfect timing Calum! Why don't you go hold your beautiful wife's hand?"

Calum froze in fear. He wasn't new to this rodeo. The strength a woman could manifest during this time was terrifying. As his gaze shifted back to Dr. West from his agitated wife, Calum felt his soul leaving his body as he eyed that knowing and condescending smirk in his so-called best friend's face.

Releasing himself to his fate, Calum made his way to his wife's bedside.

Seeing her tardy husband and his reluctant face as he stood next to her, Amelia reached forward, snatching him by his collar as she yanked him closer so that his face was but a mere two inches from her own. With a gritted smile upon her face, she spoke. "Understand this HUSBAND…" emphasizing the term of endearment. "This!" she pointed to her belly, "Is the LAST time! Are we clear?!"

Calum, frozen in fear like a deer in headlights, could only respond after hearing a snicker from the end of the bed that could only be his supposed friend Bianca. "Yes, Dear…" he all but whispered.

Confirming that she got her point across, Amelia shifted her collar-locked hand to her husband's that rested against the bed railing. Quickly squeezing it for dear life, as the most painful contraction she felt to date hit her with the highest intensity of pain she had ever felt. 'Oh, the pains of natural birth.' She thought as she continued to squeeze her husbands' hand, who so happened to now be squatting and gritting his teeth to contain himself.

"that's it, Amelia!" Dr. West yelled, "I can see the crown of her head! Just give me one final push!" she continued.

Feeling the merging of pain and joy, Amelia dug deep within herself as she pushed for dear life, ready to embrace the blessing she had long been awaiting. "AHHHHHH!!" she and her poor abused husband screamed in unison. There War Cry resounded within the hospital room slowly ended only to hear a loud and resounding crying one in return.

"UWAHH! UWAAAAHH!!" Alice cried as she finally made her debut in the world of Pokémon.

(Unbeknownst to the Blake family, in a far-off land, a GODLY being opened its oddly colored green and red eyes in awakening as it faced the direction of the Kanto Region.)
