Aiden : The Furious Gale

I kept my head low as I ate what was remaining from the cooked rabbit. Jenna sat beside me looking at me the whole time but didn't said a thing.

I just stared at the ground as my hands moved as if I were a robot. Taking little bits of the meat and placing them in my mouth. My eyes fixed on the ground. My mind fixed on Ramsey.

"Aiden …." Jenna started.

"Hm?"

"Um.. you okay?"

"No, I don't think I'm okay." I replied.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" She asked.

"Help me kill Ramsey. That is my goal in life. That is all I want to ever do." I said as uncontrollable tears started rolling down my face.

"I will, I promise." She responded.

I finished eating and then just leaned back and kept my stare fixed on the ground.

"Any ideas?" Jenna asked.

"Nope."

"I have one, I think." She said as I turned to look at her at a scary speed.

"Tell me." I said as I crossed my hands.

"Well, you know Sera? My sister?" She asked.

"I guess yeah, you talked to me about her a bit." I answered.

"Yeah she is the leader of The Frontiers. A group that are now self sufficient. They stand against the savages. Maybe she can help." Jenna suggested.

"Huh. Maybe she can." I thought about it.

"We could go to their camp. I have access and I brought you access last time I disappeared." She said as she looked down, ashamed.

"Jenna?"

"What?"

"So you had been going to your sister's camp when you were disappearing?" I asked a little angrily.

"Yes, and I'm sorry I hadn't told you before." She said as she grabbed my hand.

"Can I even trust you at this point?" I questioned.

"Yes yes, I promise I will tell you everything that happens or I do from now on."

"What about what you have done previously?"

"I will tell you whatever you want to know." She assured.

"Somehow I doubt you will." I said as I stood up.

She opened her mouth but said nothing. She looked away, guilty. I shrugged and went out of the cave entrance.

"We going to Sera or not?" I asked.

"Yes we are." She said quietly "It's west of here."

I looked at the rising sun to make sure we go the right way.

She followed me out with her backpack. She pulled something out and extended her hand to give it to me.

"Really? A pocket knife?" I raised an eyebrow.

"That's all I can spare." She shrugged.

"Well, I guess I'm skinning him alive." I said referring to Ramsey as I took the knife.

She took a few paces to be ahead of me. I didn't mind it. I put my hands in my front pockets and kept my shoulders shrugged.

My mind was racing between so many thoughts. I couldn't focus on one and I couldn't focus on all of them.

'Great, I'm going crazy on top of all of this shithousery.' I thought to myself.

After walking for about an hour or two, I started hearing some sounds. I thought I was going crazy but then a twig broke behind me so I turned hastily to see someone.

"Finally, you noticed me stalking you two." He said.

"Harrison, what do you want? Did Ramsey send you to kill me?" I questioned as I laughed a bit.

"No, he sent me to kill her." He said as he took out his pistol and aimed at Jenna.

I felt an unnatural adrenaline rush as I took the pocket knife out, opened it and threw it at his chest.

It was planted in his chest as his eyes widened and he dropped the pistol.

I walked up to him, he was still on his feet. I took the knife out and planted it in his head as hard as I could.

He flopped on the ground, lifeless.

I turned and saw Jenna looking with her eyes wide and her mouth open.

"This is just the beginning." I said as I grabbed his pistol and took the knife out.

I cleaned the knife from his blood using his own shirt. I took one last good look at him before turning to Jenna who was still shocked.

"We should hurry up." I said to her.

She just nodded and started walking a bit quicker.

She was breathing heavily and was kind of scared. I extended my arms and slowly took the backpack off of her slowly. She slowly gave it up to me. I could tell she was terrified.

"I will make sure you stay alright." I told her.

"Will you though?" She questioned quietly.

"You are the closest thing to family I have left, so obviously I will keep you safe."

She nodded and came closer to me. I wrapped an arm around her shoulder as she started crying.

"Thank you Aiden. You saved me there." She said between sniffles.

"That's the least I can do for you."

We kept walking in silence after she calmed down. It felt nice to have someone who understood me and I understood them. Especially after all that went down.

A large building showed in the distance, I expected it to be the one we were going to.

"That the one?" I asked.

"Yep, she's waiting for me. She may be a bit unfriendly at first, because she never met you." Jenna warned.

"She can't be that bad." I said.

She didn't say anything.

The whole time after I killed Harrison, she was hugging my waist and walking beside me. I was carrying her backpack and had an arm around her shoulder as well.

'She's feeling vulnerable.' I thought.

We reached the building, there was a guy in front of the main door. He looked like a typical security guy.

"What brings you here?" He asked as soon as we were within hearing distance.

"I'm here for Sera, I'm her sister." Jenna said.

"And the twig?" The guy asked referring to me.

"He's with me." Jenna said.

"Obviously dumbass, who is he?" He said.

I walked up to him and stood face to face.

"You will be nicer from now on, right?" I raised an eyebrow as he looked startled "And you will let us both is without saying a single word."

He just nodded and opened the door to let us in. His expression changed from very serious and angry to very scared and put off.

We walked in to see a very tidy building on the inside. It looked like it used to be a hotel. Not anymore clearly. The receptionist desk was now an ammo stash. The couches turned to be used as cover incase something happens.

Jenna walked really close to me as she directed me to the stairs as the elevator was out of service.

We went up a floor to see some people up there.

"Jenna." Said a girl as she rushed and hugged Jenna "Baby I missed you so much."

"Sera, we need to act, quick." Jenna said.

"What are you talking about dear?" Sera asked Jenna.

Jenna turned to me, her eyes filled up with tears and words simply couldn't come out of her mouth.

"What is wrong with my sister?" Sera turned to me seriously.

"Ramsey attacked the town. Burnt it down and killed everyone but us two. He sent someone after her but luckily we held him off." I said.

"You held him off, I just froze." Jenna added as she started crying.

Sera hugged Jenna again but her eyes were fixed on me. As if she was mad at me or something.

After a few minutes Jenna calmed down again. Sera's gaze was still on me and she finally approached me.

"Why?" She asked.

"Why what?" I asked in response.

"Why did you help her?" She asked.

"Why wouldn't I? She's the closest thing to family left for me." I said.

"Oh so you are her boyfriend?"

"No, Jesus no." I said quickly "We know each other for so long that I can't bear to live without my family AND her."

"Aha, understood. Stay away from her." She said as she turned and left.

'The hell does she think she is.' I thought.

I looked at Jenna and our eyes met. She nodded at me reassuringly and I did the same.

I flopped on one of the empty chairs and buried my head in my hands. I just needed some time to think more.

'Kill him, kill him, kill him." Were my only thoughts.

I nodded at myself knowing damn well I was going crazy and that I would actually be able to kill him.
