(3rd Person POV)
An hour on the road was enough to get everyone exhausted. Aiden got sick of driving, Jenna was tired of her sleeping position, Andrew was snoring so he didn't mind, Daniel and Matthew were exchanging conversations between each other with occasional interference from Aiden.
Daniel's legs started to get numb, he was not feeling okay either.
"Can we crash at one of these houses?" Daniel started as he pointed at some buildings in the horizon. "I mean, I know it is early morning and what not, but we need good sleep. Maybe one of these houses still has a good couch or two?" Daniel thought out loud.
"That would be heavenly." Andrew suddenly sat up.
"You twig, you didn't sleep, did you?" Jenna said as she turned around to look at Andrew.
"Aiden, your missus is very smart, is she a descendant from the Holmes family?" Andrew mocked her.
"I will break your jaw." Jenna threatened.
"I think we really should get some good sleep, but me and Jenna shotgun the double bed, if there is one." Aiden said as he raised his hand.
"Well, if you peeps need sleep, then get it, I personally have gotten enough sleep lately, so I can keep watch if you need it." Matthew suggested.
"And what makes you think we trust you yet?" Andrew turned to look at Matthew.
"I don't think you trust me yet, but I'm suggesting nevertheless." Matthew responded without turning to Andrew.
"Let's keep the tension low, let's see if these buildings are houses first." Daniel attempted to calm Andrew and Matthew.
"I'm calm, no need to worry." Matthew reassured.
As they got closer and closer to the buildings, the air got more and more filled with tension. Both sides heated from when Daniel was unconscious.
The buildings got clearer and clearer, they did look like houses, one clean estate. They looked almost untouched by all the chaos and disorder outside of the estate.
"Well I will be damned." Matthew said with an open mouth.
"This is clean, the first clean place since we left Dover." Andrew said.
"You were in the dome you neek, how do you think this is cleaner than the dome." Daniel punched Andrew's shoulder playfully.
"I know twit, but other than the dome I mean. This place is bare clean." Andrew said blissfully.
It wasn't even that clean, compared to what they had before the world went to crap, but it was cleaner than everything they have now.
"Oi Aiden lad, stop at the largest house you can see." Andrew suggested.
"That is the way to go, I agree." Matthew added.
Aiden nodded as they all got excited to finally get some good sleep.
They slowly went through the roads until Jenna spotted a large house.
"Mansion looking house." Jenna snapped as she pointed to the right side at the .
They all got excited together and joy was flowing through the air with excitement.
Aiden sped towards that house and stopped right in front of the main doors.
"May we?" Jenna said.
"We may, ma'am." Aiden responded with a huge smile on his face.
"Before walking into what is potentially our imminent death, isn't it a good idea to get some gear?" Daniel suggested.
"I have some gear at the back, being some weapons and that." Aiden said as he opened the trunk of the rover.
There were a lot of duffel bags, Aiden grabbed a specific one and opened it revealing a stash of weapons, they ranged from daggers to assault rifles and anything in between.
Andrew hastily grabbed Sergei's revolver before Daniel noticed it, as he still was yet to know how to tell Daniel about it.
Matthew grabbed his pistol and re-strapped it to his jeans. Aiden and Jenna each grabbed their rifles being and M-16 for Aiden and a FAMAS for Jenna.
Daniel went around the bag but was content with a dagger he found, he was excited to see it.
"This dagger is one of the daggers i tried to add to my collection but never could, it was on sale for three hundred thousand pounds, I put a bit of two fifty and they declined it, the dagger was never sold so i thought the day would come and I will get my hands on it, so I'm more than happy to wield it now." Daniel explained with an excited expression as he waved the knife around porudly.
"This should be good." Matthew said quietly.
All five of them got out of the car with excitement on their faces, they hadn't rested in so long. Andrew and Daniel wrapped arms around their shoulders, they were back as the best friends they were while they were cellmates. Jenna and Aiden held hands after sharing a quick kiss. Matthew put his hands in his pockets and followed the other four.
Daniel took a few quick glances at Matthew realising he is being left out, but he said nothing about it.
Aiden and Jenna were the first who got to the doors of the mansion, they were jogging at this point.
They pushed the doors open and walked in, followed by the other three.
"Now this is someplace I would kill for." Aiden said.
It was as good as new, the mansion was very clean and organised, to the right there was a large living room openly connected to a kitchen that was on the left. Two sets of stairs were at the far end of the living room, one going up and one going down, both having very fancy and expensive looking gold railing. The whole house looked like it was formerly owned by rich people.
"Shall we split?" Matthew suggested.
"I mean, we need to see the whole thing and it is large, so let's split into three groups." Daniel suggested.
"I can go alone, Jenna and Aiden partner up, you and Matthew too." Andrew said to Daniel.
"Are you sure you will be alright?" Aiden said to Andrew.
"I will be, don't worry about me, Daniel and Matthew, check upstairs, Aiden and Jenna this floor, and I will take care of whatever is down there." Andrew said as he pointed to the staircase that is going downstairs.
The five of them nodded and each went away to their floor to check the whole mansion out.
