Prince Seamus IV (2)

The week for Deni passed by uneventfully. She stayed in her courtyard in a silent manner despite the various shady tricks of the maidservants assigned to her. Her white skin, which was soft like a tofu was now riddled at some areas with pinkish rashes and bluish marks from finger tips.

One morning after the last day of her punishment, she was summoned in the Spring Pavilion by Prince Seamus IV.

Just like the last time she arrived in the pavilion, he was kissing a maidservant which was different person from the last time. Moans and gasps filled the air as she silently sat at the space slightly far from them. Less than five minutes later, Prince Seamus IV expressionlessly chased the maidservant away with her unkempt hair and robes. She was still breathing heavily with her flushed cheeks.

He turned her attention to the slender figure adjacent to his direction. Looking at the distance between them, his eyes flashed with displeasure.

"You still did not learn your lesson?"

The slender figure flinched slightly which did not go unnnoticed by his eyes.

She raised her head and looked at him with her doe eyes. Biting her lower lip, she slowly made her way to his direction and sat beside him.

Feeling that it's not enough, he suddenly pulled her into his arms. His eyes flashed with satisfaction when he felt the slightly trembling figure of the small woman in his arms. She smells good.

He ordered the servants to bring the delicacies then dismissed them afterwards. Now, silence suffused in the air. Only the two of them are present inside the pavilion.

Feeling the soft figure in his arms, he asked: "Are you afraid of me?"

"Yes." She spoke quietly. Her delicate voice sounded sweet and pleasing to his ears.  The body in his arms was now staying peacefully—like the trembling awhile ago was just an illusion.

His mouth curved upwards. "Really?"

He asked as he pulled her closer making her sit on his lap. Her back leaning on his front as he placed his face at the crook of her neck, smelling the fresh scent from her body which was usually absent from the ladies who always uses cosmetics and scented perfumes.

She nodded.

"Other people who said that they fear me only looked directly at my eyes once, and that's their first time. But you looked directly at me five times since we last meet." He spoke huskily as he lightly bit the tip of her ear.

Feeling the wet tongue licking and sucking her earlobe, she shivered.

"I don't know." She leaned forward to avoid his wandering tongue but he held her shoulders to make her still. "Y-your eyes..."

"What about my eyes?" He asked curiously as his hands moved from her shoulders to her slim waist. She was hoisted facing him and her face was pinched upwards, her eyes meeting his.

She hesitated for a moment and truthfully answered: "They're beautiful."

He stilled.

Deni thought that she angered him so she closed her eyes waiting for him to lashed at her in anger. She looked like a pig waiting in a chopping board to be butchered.

She waited for the pain to come but there is none. Slowly she opened her eyes and her mouth slightly gaped open looking at his handsome face smiling at her. It's not his usual devious or mocking smile. With a teasing tone, he spoke: "No one has ever said that to me. Because of my eyes, they branded me as a demon. Now, you spoke to me that my eyes are beautiful. Are you amusing me?"

What Prince Seamus IV said was the truth. Behind his back, he knew that people of his empire mocked him despite his meritorious achievements. Rumors said that he was a badluck that caused his parents' and grandfather's death. Eversince he was born, the color of his pupils were not the same—black in the left and red in the other. He was cursed and feared. Some said that he was a son of an evil spirit thus branded him as Demon Prince.

"I don't dare." She looked at him directly in his eyes to show that she was serious.

What reflected on her eyes was fear, approval, and peace.

"It doesn't mean that because I fear you that I should not looked into your eyes." She added.

Prince Seamus IV was amused. He doesn't know if she was just being naive or more likely, a blockhead.

In Hua Continent, who doesn't know his brutality?
