"The production department already dispatched batch number 14. Lycon enterprises demanded four new sets of PFC-IX and Hailey pick up the chemical compounds at the warehouses."
"Yes, Ma'am."
Mia thought about other alternatives to sign a deal with Wang Industries. One of the oldest and powerful vampire clans, the Wang Family is the affluent business enterprise when everybody wants to forge a partnership. Every year, they bought synthetic blood from a dealer for exactly one year. If it satisfies them, they extend the contract for more years. Ted Industries has been supplying the synthetic blood to the Wangs for over six years until they are found of adultering the chemical constituents for cutting down the production cost.
Wang Industries terminated their contract, resulting in the bankruptcy of Ted's.
Mia pitied those idiots. Collaborating with Wangs is a matter of prestige in the world of business. What were those crooks thinking of ruining such a perfect business relationship?
Well, she doesn't care about the outcome of her rival companies. All the other pharmaceutical companies are in fierce competition for this precious collaboration. This is the opportunity for her to make it big for her company.
But the rejection of all the representatives from her company at the doorstep made her blood boil. That motivated her to create a different sample which she would represent herself.
'Well, let me see how they even dare to cancel me.'
Seeing the creepy smile, her assistant Akira almost had a heart attack. Well, there is nothing wrong with smiling creepily, but it is an entirely different scenario with Mia Walker. Last time she smiled like that, she burnt down her high school laboratory lab, released snakes in their homeroom teacher's bag, destroyed the marble floors of a luxury cloth shop, put a dissected cockroach and fish in the bedroom of a rival CEO.
Akira got tired of cleaning up the mess. She loves her boss slash her best friend, but Mia Walker doesn't take a no for an answer if she sets her mind on something.
"If you think of doing something weird and eccentric, accept my resignation." Akira firmly declared her decision.
Mia pouted. "No."
"Aish this girl!," Akira was about to curse her, but somehow restricted herself from cussing her employer.
"Please don't make me a part of your weird schemes."
"You are the ones that taught me how to deal with unreasonable people or situations. See, you are my GURU."
"And I assure you I slap myself for that every day."
Akira noted down the earlier instructions given by Mia and then proceeded to leave.
"Akira, you know that I can't function without you. And it is not your fault."
Akira closed her eyes and fists tightly. Tears were threatening to leak down her eyes. After a few breathe in and breathe out, she finally opened her eyes, now blank and expressionless. She replied in a determined voice. "Yes, it was and I will make up to you. This is my promise." She walked away without glancing back.
Mia sat down on her chair, her mind taking her to the very first day they met twelve years ago.
"Hi, I am Mia Eve Walker. I am the class representative. I was told that you were new so I have to show you around."
The girl in the black dress winked at her and said in a cheerful voice.
"Hey girl I am Akira Bose, and I was born Awesome. Let's go!"
