While, multiple people were confused about the whereabouts of the author of the extermination of the Raging Snake Gang, the main character of the events was meditating in the room.

Lance was thinking about the battle. Although Fat Snake wasn't a strong adversary, he still made him frown with frustration.

One thing that he noticed during the battle was that he lacked in strength. Although he could still overpower most of his enemies with speed alone, against those with some kind of mastery over their mana would still cause him trouble.

Fat Snake was a perfect example of it. Although he was not the strongest in the city he was still one of the strongest. With his mastery over earth mana, he didn't posed any threat to Lance, unless he joined forces with at least another mage of similar power.

Visualizing all the possible outcomes of that battle, Lance found out that in the worst case he would still manage to slay Fat Snake but would be grievously wounded.

Ever since he came to this world, most of the fights that he had were either with the purpose of training or the opponent was too weak to making fight for his life.

This fight made him aware that although the people inside the Desolate Region couldn't surpass Adept strength, because of those restrictions their mastery and control of their power was degrees higher that one from outside the suppression field.

Lance once again made a firm resolution to become stronger and to always be prepared for any eventuality.

'This fight really made me look with new eyes to those that I will have to face. If Fat Snake was like that, I can't imagine what the boss of Lion Gang would be...'

Lance looked at the sky while his eyes turned a bit glassed, while various memories of those butchered faces came to him.

' No! For vengeance, no matter who stands in my way, they will die! "

For a while the replenished mana began to burn along with rushing rage, burning inside of him. Noticing, almost immedialty, his sudden change of mood made Lance once again panic.

" I can't lose control so easily."

Lance Bagan to focus on his mana flow, making it calm down while following a certain rhythm.

"... Uhf..."

Exhaling turbid air, his once raging eyes were once again cold like the winter.

Occupying himself once again with training to make sure that any possible distracting thoughts couldn't make way to his mind, Lance focused on trying to improve his control on mana.

Base on previous works of fiction from Earth, where the main character would also employ some training to improve his control of his power, he also chooses a similar way.

Making a ball of mana about the size of tennis ball, he began to control it around his body slowly.

Every time the ball either touched him or dissipated he would restart from the beginning. After some time, Lance finally made the ball go around every part of his body.

After some more tries, he knew that he was ready to make it harder.

He began to accelerate the ball, making it several times more difficult to control it.

For three days, he only did this kind of trading besides eating, sleeping and relieving himself.

Each successful try, he would further accelerate the ball. When he reach the max speed he would summon another ball, returning to the lowest speed till the top spedd once again.

......

On the third day, inside of the room, one could barely see Lance's body because of the large quantity of mana balls surrounding his body.

Lance stopped being still while training his control by his second day, as he stopped feeling any kind of progression.

So he started to physical training while at the same time let the mana balls surround his body.

Lance also manage to discover a peculiarity about mana.

While doing push upps, he began to think that he needed to find some weights. He immediately notice that as he though that, his body was becoming heavier till he almost was crushed by the sheer weight of it.

That event made him start a series of tests to find out what made him become heavier. If it was just mere a visualize though that turned into reality or another thing?

With his mind set on answering that question, he stopped at nothing till he found its answer.

In one of the test he was trying to test if when he coated a normal fist with mana and without, while in both thinking about making it heavier, he discovered the answer.

He had since the beginning from when he became a mage, knew that the mind had a large influence on magic.

But from all his research besides a few mentions about how earth magic was the heaviest while air magic was the lightest, he didn't found any mention on how did the weight changed from earth mana to air mana?

After find out that if he he had a clear though that could be translated to 'Heavier', it would influence his mana physical qualities.

This discovery meaned that magic wasn't all about elements but had many more to it. The only downside was that by altering the natural state of mana, the mana would be very unstable and very easy to disrupt the change.

[CAT begin analysing mana. Try to find if you can make mana perform outside its natural form. Also, create a folder for all the confirmed physical changes that can be made to mana]

[Yes, master. ]

With this, Lance hoped that he could be a step closer to create his own spells. With the day that his vengeance would be accomplished was closer, Lance steeled himself as he began training once again.

Outside of the Desolate Region, in the capital of BlueSky Empire, in a imposing palace, a man was discussing something with his ministers.

"Minister Hide, what do you mean when you say that you have a lead on the boy that awakened the lightning root? I was assured by Comander Kly, that the boy had died along with his entire village."

Minister Hide along with the other ministers didn't dare to interrupt Emperor Azure. They knew that although his seemingly calm outside, beeneth that serene Visage there was a man that could order the death of an entire city without blinking an eye.

" Lord, we have many reports from our spies that they saw a phenomenon that could have a relation with that boy. We have many reasons to believe that the boy didn't die but was hyding, waiting that your lordship would forget about those events."

"Uhm... So what did your spies saw that made you have a slight though that that bouy was still alive? Beware if you answer doesn't satisfy me tomorrow there will be a new Minister of Defense."

Minister Hide swallowed the ball of spit that even he didn't knew that he had. After calming his fearful mind, he spoke, " The spies reported that in the Desolate Region, in the BlackCrime City, they saw a dragon. "

Even the emperor was slightly stunned. Everyone knew that since thousands of years, dragon were exctint while the only vestiges of the race was some minor races of qiverns and even those wouldn't go to a place like the Desolate Region.

Emperor Azure gazed intensely at Minister Hide. A formless pressure began to form on top of him, threatening to squash him like a bug if he didn't explain himself quickly.

"Lord, what they saw wasn't really a dragon made of flesh and bones but one made of mana. Lightning Mana!"

The formless pressure instantly receded back to Emperor Azure's body once Minister Hide finished talking.

Minister hid cleaned his forehead that after finished talking began to sweat like he had done the most extenuating exercise routine in his life. He returned to his chair waiting for the Emperor's order.

All of them Waite quietly and motionless, fearing that any sound or movement would incur the wrath of the Emperor.

After a few suffocating moments, Emperor Azure said, "Heed my command! Deploy the Azure Guard to BlackCrime City with the objective to bring me the one that summoned the lightning dragon dead or alive!"

All the Ministers rose from their chairs and put their fists on their left chest, while chouting together, "Yes you're Majesty!"
