The Blacksmith Quest

Ryzen took turns looking at the female player then on to the broken sword in his hand. Wherever he moved his sword, the eyes of that player followed it, like a pet playing with a toy. Then, Ryzen grinned, he walked and opened the shop door.

"You want this?" Ryzen said grinning.

"Y-yes!" the player nodded several times.

"Then... catch it!"

Ryzen threw the sword out, instantly, the female player reacted like a cat and began to run after the sword that was thrown. Ryzen closed the door, then clapped his hands and looked again for weapons.

"Okay, uhh, this is good," Ryzen said as he examined a long spear.

Steel Spear

P. Atk 17 ~ 21

Durability: 92/100

———

"The thing is, I don't know how to use it, it's not like the game I play using the keyboard."

"Even though you have never used a spear before, if you have a class that matches the weapon, which is Spearsman or Explorer, you will be able to use it magically," said the voice.

Ryzen turned around, and saw the owner of the voice. A female player with orange hair, and has the same green eyes as he does. Yes, it's the same player, who proudly claims to be a blacksmith.

"Well, but it would be great if you did have experience with a spear or stick in the real world," the player continued.

"Sound like a Weapon Proficiency?" said Ryzen.

"Yes, the more often you use a weapon to kill monsters, the character's mastery to use that weapon will increase. Your real body experience will also be counted as a bonus value on your character, for example, if you train or know how to wield a sword to a certain point, there is a possibility that your character will get unique skills," said the player, she seemed to be enjoying every topic.

"Ah, I get it, thank you!"

Ryzen nodded slowly, then put back the spear. The female player raised her eyebrows, and looked at the spear that had just been put back.

"You didn't buy it?" asked the player.

"You say, to use a spear you must have the Explorer or Spearsman class, or also have real experience related to this weapon, right?" said Ryzen.

"Right, so why...?"

Ryzen responded with a faint smile. At first, she was confused, but then she realized something.

"Ah, I know. You just started this game and don't have class," the player said, nodding her head.

"Bingo!"

Ryzen make a gun-like pose with his finger and pointed at the player. The female player stroked her chin, looking like she was deep in thought. Meanwhile, Ryzen continued his search for weapons. It's been about 5 minutes he was looking for weapons, but there is nothing better than the spear earlier.

"Now, hey," the player called.

Ryzen immediately responded to the call and looked back, because he was the only person there who could be called to by the female player. After their eyes met, Ryzen raised his eyebrows.

"What?"

"How about this, I'll give you a sword for free. However, in exchange, can you collect Medicine Herbs and Stones for me? Fifty each." said the player.

"How come is it free, if I still have to work to get it?" said Ryzen.

"If you don't want to, then it's okay."

The player turned back, but Ryzen immediately held her hand.

"Who says I don't want to? I'll do it, just gathering some items, right?"

The female player smiled, then turned back at Ryzen again. She wiped the empty air and looked like she was pressing something, a few moments later, a transparent panel appeared in Ryzen's vision.

"{Laiten requests to add friends.}"

The panel gave two choices, "Yes" and "No", with the same information as the voice of the system said.

"To make it easier for us to communicate, it's better to adding friends each other first," said the player, who uses the name Laiten.

Ryzen pressed the "Yes" button, then the panel changed to a smaller panel, which said, "You have become friend with Laiten!", Then Ryzen closed the panel. After that, Laiten chatted Ryzen via the chat feature even though they were stand there face to face, the reason was to make it easy for Laiten when she have to explaining the items she wanted, besides that, so that she could immediately give the coordinates of where the items were located and to give Player's Quest.

Player's Quest is one of the features in Fantasy Star Online, with this feature, players can give or receive quests from other players. The requirements for giving quests to other players are; There must be a Quest Objective and Reward.

The quest format given by Laiten is as this.

———

Quest: Laiten's Quest I

From: Laiten

Objective Quest: Gather 50 of Medicine Herb and Stone.

Medicine Herb (0/50)

Stone (0/50)

Reward: Iron Sword +2

Accept the quest? (Yes / no)

———

"This is a very interesting feature!" said Ryzen.

"Right?! With this feature, both sides can make a benefits of each other, rather than just begging like a beggar to some top players," Laiten said.

Ryzen choked when Laiten said that, he cleared his throat and then pressed the "Yes" button on the quest panel.

"{Quest accepted!}"

"Wait, where can I see the map, is there no map icon?" Ryzen asked.

Laiten tilted her head, as if she didn't understand the meaning of Ryzen's question.

"Isn't that at top right corner on your vision?"

Ryzen immediately turned to the direction that Laiten told, it was true, there was a triangle icon, but that was not a map. After doing that, Ryzen also realized that there was something like a colored bar in the upper left corner.

"I didn't find the map, it was just a triangle. But, it seems like I just found my HP and MP bars."

All Ryzen found was a red and blue bar. The red bar shows the HP (Hit Point), while the blue bar shows the MP (Mana Point).

HP function is like a health in RPG games, if your HP reaches 0, then your character will die. Meanwhile, MP functions is to perform or cast a skill, each skill certainly requires a number of MP to activate it, especially magic skills.

"Ah, try saying the command word to open the map, you already read the manual, right?" said Laiten.

"Oh, let me try. If I'm not wrong...."

"[Command: Show Map!]"

After saying that, the triangle icon in his vision turns into a circular map icon that looks transparent. There is a blue cursor as the center of the map, and near the blue cursor there is a green cursor.

"I saw it," Ryzen said.

"Mhmm, good." Laiten nodded slowly while closing his eyes.

"Now, just tap the coordinates I gave, there will be a point that will navigate to that location," Laiten said, walking toward the cashier's desk with a broken sword.

Ryzen did as Laiten said, opening his chat panel with Laiten, then pressing the coordinates Laitan gave. After that, a flag icon and a blue line appears on the map.

"If you are done with the quest, just chat me," Laiten said.

Laiten then left the shop with three broken swords she bought. Ryzen really couldn't understand what Laiten would do with those broken swords.

"Oh, maybe this quest's material is also related to what she will do? Maybe, she want to fix the sword, but why, those three swords are also not very good," Ryzen muttered.

Ryzen didn't buy any weapons, then just left the shop. He turned his head in all directions, then sighed.

"[Command: Auto UI!]

That is a command that makes the UI (User Interface), like the icons in his vision, it will make those icons disappear if not needed, and will appear if needed.

"This is better!"

Ryzen started to walking, following the navigation indicated on the map.
