SANTINA'S RESIDENCE

The Amorcelli's residence was actually situated within District 12's most affluent village. Truth be told, Santina's parents own valuable urban real estate, while her siblings owned a business of their own; each worthy of being boasted.

The family worked together to expand their assets which included a small chain of computer stores and a start-up firm that was meant to make financial and retail software for large corporations.

Santina may not look like an elitist at first glance as she usually preferred dressing in simple clothes over the sophisticated one. But in reality, she was actually an heir and she belonged to family conglomerates.

Due to the heavy traffic, it was already half-past eight when Mikael arrived at the Amorcelli's residence.

As soon as the security guard saw him, it waved at him right away and Mikael was considerate enough to wave back at the other party.

The other party motioned him to a parking space along the curb and as soon as Mikael saw the spot, his eyes instantly went heavenward.

"Tsk! Parallel parking."

Rather than actually cursing the other party muttered those words instead under his breath. Then with his hands almost as though flying on the steering wheel, Mikael eased into the empty space on the parking lot exactly as smooth as how a professional drift racer would do. To be honest, Mikael even once dreamt of becoming one before but later on, he changed his mind.

Right after taking his spot, he switched the car's ignition off and pulled the handbrake up afterward. When he got out of the car, the security guard greeted him right away; the other party even held the door open for him.

"Good evening, Sir."

The other party greeted him with a bright smile.

"Hi, Arnold. Has Santina arrived?"

Mikael on the other hand responded with a slight nod of his head before he inquired to him.

"Yes, sir. She is waiting for you inside."

"Thanks."

After exchanging a few words with his old acquaintance, Mikael finally made his way towards the house. He walked up the marbled steps of the huge front door and rung its bell.

After ringing the bell, Mikael actually did not wait that long before a maid came rushing in and opened the door to let him in.

"Hi, Father."

She said brightly.

"Hello, Amy."

Mikael replied with an awkward smile when he heard how the other party used to address him. But then he corrected her right after.

"By the way, I am not ordained yet so you don't have to call me Father, just Brother Kel."

He said with a kind smile.

Amy, just like Arnold was also familiar with Mikael. They have known Mikael for ages already since the other party had been to the place for many occasions in the past.

Mikael had long known the Amorcelli siblings, primarily because they were his schoolmates but most of all, it was because he and Santina were already old friends even way back in his early teens.

"Yes, Fath---... I mean, Brother Kel."

Amy, the maid, replied as she led him to the dining room.

"Sir Andrew and Ma'am Selene just got back from their honeymoon.

Amy opened up a conversation as they walked.

"Really??"

Mikael asked back, a bit surprised as he did not expect to meet the couple. Andrew was Santina's younger brother and he actually attended their wedding two months ago.

"It will be good to see them."

He added afterward as soon as he recovered from his shock.

"They were all in the living room right now."

Amy replied casually.

"Then why are we heading to the kitchen then? Was it not only right for me to go and greet them first?"

Mikael asked back with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, Ma'am Santina instructed me to bring you to the food first. She said you probably had not eaten yet."

Indeed, Mikael had not eaten yet since lunch. Other than a piece of sandwich and a cup of sugary black coffee, he did not have anything more. However, it was only when Mikael heard Amy said that did he realized how hungry he was already.

Amy descended on a long corridor and Mikael naturally followed behind her until they turned left towards the kitchen. As soon as they reached that point of the house, the enticing whiff of the foods being served hot on the kitchen became more apparent and Mikael's nose was quick enough to pick up the smell of barbequed spareribs among other things.

The Amorcelli household was truly a good cook and they usually prepared the foods by themselves during family gatherings. Santina often times joined them as well and would cook at least one of the dishes.
