ABBY AND HER THEORY OF SERIAL KILLING

From the way how the woman's back was slouched, it was not that hard to infer that she was already getting bored with what she was doing.

However, when Daniel's face appeared on the screen, the other party straightened up in her seat right away. At the same time, her lips also could not help but twitched when she noticed how the head lawyer of the National Investigation Team was acting smugly onscreen.

"Joe, take a look at this."

She said without tearing her eyes away from the television. Likewise, there was also obvious derision on her voice as she called the attention of the other man sitting not too far away from where she was.

Because she was not looking, she did not have an idea that Joe was actually dozing off at the desk behind her. The other party even had his feet propped up on the edge of his desk.

However, as soon as he heard the mention of his name he was immediately jolted awake.

"What is it this time Abby?"

He asked with his eyes half-closed. Meanwhile, when Abby heard the sleepiness in the other party's tone, she turned and looked at him. That was when she noticed that Joe was laid back on his seat.

Abby did not pay it much of heed as she was already used to such sight. Instead, she pointed at the screen and urged him to look closely.

"Look at Daniel, he had his hair styled again. He even got his curls back"

She said with a sneer.

"Hmm... Just let him be. Whatever makes him happy."

Joe said flatly but he also moved closer to the screen. He tilted his head and put his face closer to the television so he could see Daniel clearly.

Joe was actually rank higher than Abby but as a lenient boss, the other party allowed her to be casual with him. In fact, he treated her like she was his own daughter.

Also, it was no secret to him that Abby had a bone to pick with Daniel.

Abby was not exactly fond of the other party but it was not because of any personal reason, rather, it could be said that Abby was simply disappointed about how the head lawyer handled the important cases under his wing.

She did not see Daniel Sapiro as a capable man. In fact, she even reckoned that the other party was not even suited to his job.

As a crime reporter, Abby dedicated most of her time into digging and pointing out the awful errors of those who were in position and Daniel happened to be one of the many who performed badly in the Bureau.

However, due to some people backing him and pulling strings on the background, Daniel was never called out for his bad decision.

"What are they saying this time? Can you please turn up the volume a little bit?"

Abby said and so Joe did just like what the other party wanted. He turned up the volume just right in time as the newscaster was starting her broadcast.

' The suspect is believed to be behind the killing of several young boys in the dumpsite specific at District 12. The alleged notorious killer was also said to leave his victims badly mutilated before disposing it to the said dumpsite. Bureau officials said that they purposely did not release details of the previous murders to avoid a panic in the community.'

Abby and Joe found themselves staring at each other after hearing the broadcast. However, their expressions were different.

One was a bit shock while the other had a knowing glow on her eyes.

Abby had been badgering her boss for months already telling him about her theory that a serial killer was probably at large at District 12. But when Joe heard her talking about it the first time, he did not take her seriously.

Just like the others, he also believed that the theory of serial killings was only a thing of the west. It was for that reason that whenever Abby brought up the matter, he would only laugh at her.

However this time, Joe's gut feeling was also telling him that the matter was no longer a laughing matter. Something was amiss and they have to get to the bottom of it!
