Meanwhile, Mikael left his place first thing in the morning.

In his hurry, he forgot to grab himself something to eat, so to appease his starving tummy, he stopped by at a nearby fast-food joint on Duvet Drive.

There he got himself a cup of coffee and a sandwich for breakfast.

He began eating the sandwich in the car as he drove straight into their laboratory. Their lawns were relatively greener after a week of raining and the streets were squeaky clean as well.

Mikael parked in his usual spot and opened the door.

He also picked up a small stack of books and papers with one hand, while his coffee was in his other free hand.

Then he held the half-eaten sandwich between his teeth and lips as he got out of the car.

Mikael put the coffee on the hood first so he could shut and locks the door with his free hand, then he retrieved his coffee before making his way towards the laboratory building.
