Valentine’s Day part 2 - Gary

Undeterred by Barry's warning, Gary kept following the Aimes and started to put his plan in action. First he had to make a Valentines card and then they would be friends. Then he could find out her weaknesses and stop her from hurting anyone. That was as long as nothing went wrong.

The Aimes was standing alone in the cafeteria, having been kicked off of the popular table so that the others could have a romantic breakfast. She was leaning against the wall and looked slightly upset. She was picking at the skin around her nails and pretending to ignore the jabs that Barry made at her. For someone who claimed to be her boyfriend, he was terrible. He was having breakfast with the girl he had been with that other night and he was making fun of her. Maybe the spell she had put on him wasn't that strong. Gary picked up some courage and walked over to her, pretending to be all friendly like before.

"Hey!" He called as he came over, greeting her with a smile. She turned to look at him and he smiled at her confused expression. She crossed her arms and leant against the wall further, though she didn't need to make herself smaller.

"I thought I'd scared you off or something Sheffield." She commented, alluding to his recent 'absence' when in reality he was actually stalking her. Gary's smile flickered and he forced a chuckle.

"Why would I be scared of you, Aimes?" He asked, following her lead of using their surnames. They both knew that each other were dangerous because of their ancestors.

"What do you want Sheffield?" She questioned harshly, cutting off their 'friendly' conversation. Gary met her glare, his own piercing her.

"I think you already know Aimes." He answered, not sharing any information with her. He glared down at her, causing her to stop slouching against the wall and stand up to her full height.

"Are you picking a fight Sheffield? I will do it here, don't think you're safe." She threatened, alluding to her magic. Gary could already feel his own magic streaming down to his hands, ready to be activated to protect him from the imminent danger.

"Don't underestimate me Aimes, it might not be as easy as you think it would be." He commented as a knife flew at him, coated in her magical energy. He caught it without even batting an eyelid. "Besides, if you did do it here, you would expose yourself." He taunted, flipping the knife in his hand. She grit her teeth.

"Aww! RB! Who's this guy you're flirting with?" The girl who Barry was sitting with asked patronisingly. Gary hid the knife as the other populars turned to them. He saw the Aimes' face pink up in embarrassment. He smirked at her small sign of weakness.

"He...He was just leaving!" She answered, and started trying to shove him away, but failing.

"What if I don't want to leave?" He questioned innocently, and spun around so that she tripped and fell into his chest. Her cheeks pinked up even more as the populars started laughing at her. She quickly stood up, her gaze scanning their mocking faces and then landing on his own smug one. Her eyes told a different story to her front, he noticed, she felt humiliated and was about to cry. She quickly shoved past him as she noticed his face change to a more apologetic one. Gary followed after her as she ran out of the cafeteria.

He felt terrible.

But she was an Aimes.

And she deserved it... right?
