Henchman part 2 - Rainbow

Rainbow wondered what was going through Barry's head. From the way he'd approached her it seemed like he thought Gary was beating her up which, from the way they had previously been positioned, looked quite likely. She was still unsure of wether he'd heard her or not though. If he had, she doubted he would have come over to her like that though and instead would've probably yelled at her for being 'treasonous to the group' or something stupid like that.

"Sheffield did you actually dare to hurt her?" He asked slowly, each word dripping with menace. Rainbow bit her lip, she didn't know what to do. If she defended Gary would it mean she wasn't loyal to the group? Would Barry be angry with her? But if she didn't defend Gary then he would be even more angry at her. If the Sheffield was angry at her then that wouldn't be good. Her eyes flicked between them nervously. Gary looked down at her, asking her to defend him. She got up and stood in between them.

"He didn't hurt me Barry." She said clearly and with a little confidence. He glared at her and her arms fell slightly from being up horizontally. Gary smiled relieved that she had said something this time. Barry grit his teeth and grabbed one of her arms. He swung her around behind him, making her lose her balance and fall to the floor with a small squeak. Then he went for Gary shoving him away.

"Get lost Sheffield." He ordered, as he shoved him away. Gary took one last glance at Rainbow's worried expression and walked away. Barry came back and knelt down to her, lifting her chin slightly. "I'm persuasive am I?" He questioned and her eyes widened in horror. "What else were you going to tell Sheffield? That Dimond is two-faced?" He demanded. Her eyes welled up, everything was falling apart because she'd become to confident and reckless. He dropped her face, not wanting to look at her any longer than he had to.

"I-I didn't mean… I just… Why do you do this to me?" She mumbled losing confidence in her own feelings. She wasn't entirely sure Barry had ever been nice to her. It had been so long. Maybe she'd just become more aware of his behaviour. He stood up menacingly, at his full height he was quite intimidating since she was on the floor.

"What? What do I do? I keep giving you chances to prove that you actually care about us, and then you go around spreading rumours about us behind our backs! Is that what a friend would do?" He taunted, making her feel worse. They weren't rumours, she just… couldn't take it anymore. She just wanted one person that she could talk to honestly, without them getting offended or not listening or interrupting her with their own problems. He grunted and then kicked her with force, making her fall to her side in pain. She whimpered slightly, taking his abuse. She deserved it anyway…
