"Are you the parents of the lady inside?" The doctor asked. "By the way, I'm Doctor Pete Williams." He added. "Yes, we are. I'm Jerry Smith and her Mom, Bess. This is her boyfriend, Andrew. Is she alright now? Tell us Doc, please." Mr. Jerry Smith asked worriedly. "We removed the scratches and wounds on her face and arms. We got it stitched But she is still unconscious. Her head strongly banged, that's the reason of her unconsciousness. Right now, she is in the private room. From time to time, I will check her vital signs. We will just wait for her ct scan and x-ray results." "Please do anything to save her, Doc." Mr. Jerry Smith pleaded him. "Don't worry, we are doing everything to make her awake. The accident she got was strong. She's so lucky that she immediately brought here. Only one person will visit her in the room. Okay Sir, Ma'am, I have other patients to attend to." Doctor Pete Williams said. "Thank you so much, Doc." Andrew said.
They walked toward the fourth floor where the private room of Elle located. It was in Room 468. Mr. Jerry Smith entered the room first. He shed tears. He could not imagine how she laid down on the bed with dextrose and oxygen beside her. He touched her hand and pleaded her to wake up. He told her how he loved her very much as his only daughter. But still, Elle was unconscious. It was her Mom's turn to enter the room. She suddenly cried. She never expected to see Elle lying on a hospital bed on a Christmas Day. She watched her with tears on her face. She reminisced the time she spent with her since the day she brought her into the world until now. "She's just eighteen years old, please give her another chance to live." Mrs. Bess Smith thought to herself. She held Elle's hand but still she was unconscious. She got out of the room and Andrew came in. He touched her hand, he could not control his tears. He blamed himself inside his thought. "Babe, please wake up now. I miss you so much, your kiss, your touch, your smile, your laughter, I miss everything about you. Remember, we have so many goals to reach? Why like this, Babe? Please wake up now. I cannot live without you, my future Mrs. Jones. I love you so much, Elle." Andrew said. He was crying in front of her, sobbing. He was still holding her hand until he felt that her fingers moved a little. "Elle, my baby, Andrew is here." Andrew said, almost half smiled. His face lit up when Elle's fingers kept moving. Andrew called the Nurse's Station to tell the in-charge about he witnessed. While waited for the doctor and nurse to arrive, Andrew saw Elle's eyes slowly opened. She looked at him seriously. Andrew smiled at her but the way Elle looked at him, she just stared at him like he was a stranger. Doctor Pete Williams and two nurses came, together with Elle's parents. The doctor checked her vital signs. He told them she was doing well. "But Doc, as soon as she opened her eyes, she just stared at me like she did not know me?" Andrew said, confused. "The result of her ct scan, part of her brain got a partial memory loss because of the hard impact of the accident. But other than that, she was fine, her vital signs are good, her x-ray result is negative, no other body injuries. Only her memory." Doctor Pete Williams informed them. "So what will we do, Doc? How to regain her memory? Mrs. Bess Smith asked. She seated beside Elle. Her face was so worried. "Take care of her well and be patient enough to let her remember all the events, the things that have to do with her. You are lucky that she survived this even though she has a partial loss of memory. Show her your love and your care. Be patient with her. We don't know how she will react to this once she converse to you. Usually patients who have amnesia are irritable and don't talk much. So handle her with care. After three days. she can go home. I'll give you final instructions on the third day. Have a nice day!" Doctor Pete Williams smiled at them. "Thank you so much, Doc!" Mr. Jerry Smith said. "Happy holidays!" Mr. Jerry Smith added with a smile. The doctor smiled and fled out of the room.
"Thanks God, you're alive, Elle!" Mr. Jerry Smith said. He smiled at her. But she just stared at him, no expression on her face. She just looked at them blankly. "Elle, this is your Mom. Here's your Dad and Andrew, your boyfriend." Mrs. Bess Smith introduced them with her. But Elle just closed her eyes and slept. "She doesn't know us." Mrs. Bess Smith said in a worry voice. Mr. William Jones arrived and Andrew told him everything. Mrs. Bess Smith called Nanny Ann and told her what happened to Elle. She instructed her to prepare the clothes of Elle. She would get it when she came home in awhile. Her Mom would go home to take a bath and changed. She would also cook Elle's favorite dish. "You can go home and take your rest, Andrew. I'll be the one to look after Elle." Mr. Jerry Smith said. "No, Uncle Jerry, I'll stay here. You take rest, Uncle. I'll go home later. I wanna stay with Elle." Andrew insisted. Mr. Jerry Smith went outside together with Elle's Mom and they headed home to get Elle's clothes and her favorite food. Andrew left inside. He seated beside Elle, watching her slept quietly.
