Super Soldier Plan

With Carter here it was quite easy to figure out the whole story.

To sum it up, their attack was just a diversion. Yes, a diversion...

It started when the United States' attack failed, so a counterattack was planned. A team was pulled from the main force to infiltrate and cause mayhem in the enemy camp.

It was never expected for anyone to actually kill the target. They only wanted the panicked enemy to withdraw some of its forces back to the camp to gain the advantage in the main field while the second team would ambush the withdrawing forces in a pincer attack. Remember the thirty or so people called with Arthur to the meeting? Five of them were to infiltrate while the rest were to set up an ambush. Also the spies...

It made Arthur think.

The war was a big strategy game... played by people but at the expense of lives...

Humans are probably the most complicated creatures in the world. Everyone is different but they all had something common. Maybe good, maybe something bad. It might be something just natural for good to exist in evil and vice versa.

"Since we have 'our people' (E:spies) here, why did the team not use this channel and directly infiltrate, but instead make a near impossible mission ?"

"First of all, the way we took to come here was not too hidden. They had their own sentries. we just used the right time to go through when they were changing shifts. If there are too many people, it is easy to be discovered by the enemy."

Carter explained: "Secondly, when they planned this mission, the enemies had noticed us planning something, so there could not be too many people missing from the Frontline all at the same time neither could we delay it..."

"...Ha ha."

What else could he do other than awkwardly laugh?

Sure enough, they were in a rush to make a decision.

But these things don't matter to him anymore, and the result outstanding anyways.

What could they say to him for overperforming anyways?

Waiting for a while for the news of the soldiers and the sergeant, Carter decided to retreat.

They hadn't come back yet. Meaning that thay might have been stuck somewhere. After all, the first wave of teams are currently attacking, and the enemy's main attention should be placed on them. Under such state, with the two laying low, there won't be much danger.

We must always be optimistic, otherwise it won't be possible to maintain his mental health.

Even if they had an accident... it was meaningless to wait here. This was also why Carter decided to retreat immediately. Arthur naturally has no reason to refuse.

He also found out what the spy they met had been up to. Apparently he had some task to do so he was still in the camp.

Quietly watching the other's back leaving, the camp burning behind them, Arthur was exhausted. He suddenly wanted to laugh at all this.

This morning, he was still a otaku sitting, drinking Coke, watching movies, and playing games.

He was the type of person to sleep so much that he would wake up tired.

And now...

What did he experience in one afternoon and half a night?

"Life...."

"Stop standing there like a dimwit! Move on! "

Art quickly followed. He just wants to take a good nap now.

...

...

He opened his eyes. The light is dim. The sun was on the horizon. Looking at the people, the sun was setting.

" grrr..."

Arthur pouted, he was hungry.

He and Carter returned to camp at four in the morning. When they returned, they went directly to the headquarters. But sitting there, Arthur began to doze off, and then was arranged a place to sleep.

He slept for a whole day! ... not the first time.

Standing up, stretching out, he felt that his body was full of strength, he could not help but practice like he saw in the movies.

The door opened, and Carter walked in with two boxes. Seeing him, she couldn't help but smile: "Working out?"

Arthur was flushed.

He had graduated from College for so many years. He didn't expect his occasional recurrence of childish behavior to be caught.

"You have been sleeping for a whole day, it's time to eat something."

Carter looked at the embarrassed Arthur, and the smile on her face grew. She came over and placed the box. Taking out the cans, she said, "We can't always let the hero go hungry?"

"Hero?"

Art tickled his nose, feeling weird that he was called as such.

"Of course, a Hero."

Carter nodded: "Last night, You played a vital role. You killed the commander and saved many of our comrades!"

- I didn't even know who he was! I just killed him so that he wouldn't be the rookie to make the mistake. -

This was wrong on so many levels.

He didn't think much during the mission.

Looking back, there were too many coincidents to be true last night!

Who would believe that the enemy commander was actually outside the camp, and with no protection around him?

Him going to the Armoury was a risky move, in fact it was more than dangerous.

If it wasn't for the leading officer of the other party suddenly letting Arthur convey his orders, it would not be so easy to get away from them!

And then the attack of the first wave of troops, the sergeant and the soldier who got stuck in that situation... When all this was combined, the main reason for the successful completion of the mission last night and his smooth retreat was just dumb, absurd luck!

If he didn't know the plotline of the movie and who the hero was supposed to be, Arthurt might have considered himself to be the protagonist!

"Remember what I said to you before?"

Carter suddenly spoke.

"About what?"

He was still trying to guess " Love? "

"If you would like to, 'we' can discuss about love in the future. But now, I would like to discuss with you about the 'Super Soldier Plan.' It looks like you don't remember it though.
