Sai watched, still a little nervous, as Sasuke left the place as if nothing had happened. After provoking him that way, at least unusual, how could he just leave that way, after leaving the other extremely embarrassed, ashamed and not knowing what had happened there? I was confused. I had never dealt with feelings as intense as those ... I didn't even know how to define what I was feeling. He only knew that his heart was beating wildly and strangely every time the Uchiha came very close to him.
Since when had your feelings changed that way? He was used to being disgusted, to being angry, hating, any negative feeling, but something close to a good feeling was new. Well, would nervousness, at that time, be a good feeling? Maybe it could be fear. He had made it clear that he was dangerous and that, yes, it would hurt him if he threatened him like that again ... fear would not be an irrational feeling in that situation.
Okay, I was thinking too much, I needed to relax. I didn't understand any of those things in my heart at all, so I should move on ... when they returned to Konoha, everything would be back to normal and they probably wouldn't even see each other that much, they would feel better once they were home.
He returned calmly to the room where his friends were hospitalized. As he walked, he had no sign of the spiky-haired brunette and thanked him for it. She already felt strange enough without being aware of his physical presence. He opened the sliding door of the hospital room, there was no one in the room but the wounded. Naruto didn't seem even close to being conscious again, but his appearance was already better, so they just had to wait and trust the skills of Sakura and the others.
TenTen was, well, TenTen. There was no other word to define it at that moment. Someone had helped her to sit down and she was looking at the wall in front of her while humming something or talking to someone, she couldn't say ... maybe she was talking to herself?
"Hey, Sai. So, how did it go with Sasuke? Did you guys get it right?" If they got it right it was a very strong expression in their vision; it was not what had really happened. He didn't even know what had happened, but he believed they were at peace with each other. All the conflicts were gone and the ninja in question seemed to have come to himself.
"I think he feels better about the guilt, we don't talk much. At least, the rivalry is over ... I think."
"That's great." She smiled sweetly and seemed to want to say something more when a green hurricane entered the room.
"TenTen-channnnnnn" It was Lee, who barely opened the door and was already on top of her friend, hugging her while crying on her shoulders. "I'm sorry to leave you alone to go to sleep ... I'm so selfish ... I should have stayed by your side all the time looking after you ... but Sasuke told me he was going to stay here while I ... where's the Sasuke? "
Rock Lee's expression changed from sadness to anger in a matter of seconds. He looked around several times, looking for his teammate.
"He said he was going to stay with you ... where did that loser go?" As if offending him was a kind of spell to summon him, Sasuke opened the door. He looked at everyone with his typical expression of disinterest, totally unaware of what was happening.
It was inevitable that Sai would remember his sudden approach as they talked near the tree and it made him nervous again. He felt his face heat up and thought it best to keep quiet, he could start stuttering if he tried to utter a sentence. The ninja's reaction did not go unnoticed by the brunette, who was confusedly watching the master of the drawings frown and turn red in the presence of the Uchiha. However, an extremely flustered and upset Lee prevented her from thinking about it further.
"You said you were going to be taking care of her while I went to get some rest! Where were you, huh, damn you?"
"Go out for a breath for a minute ..." The ex-nukenin said, looking very calm with the whole situation, unlike the other.
"I knew it! I knew I shouldn't have left TenTen-chan's side ... you can't take care of it!"
"I was on her side the whole time while you were sleeping!" In view of the accusation of the most recent member, TenTen felt that she should intervene, before things started to get even hotter and she already knew where this would lead.
"How ridiculous you are. I don't need to care for the two biggest losers in Konoha!" The two companions looked at their friend as if a third eye had grown in the middle of her forehead. They seemed about to argue, Sai in the corner still without understanding how they had arrived in that situation, when the brunette smiled cynically, as if she had an infallible letter up her sleeve. "Besides, Sasuke was more busy crying around."
"I was not crying." He seemed extremely offended by the comment and so shocked that he didn't even know what else to say.
"That's not what my sources say, Sasukinho." His eyes went straight to Sai and he swallowed, thinking he would be the target of the anger without having anything to do with it. Fortunately, he seemed to have taken it all in stride.
"Sasukinho? Put your head in place, TenTen. You hit it very hard, it still seems to be impacted." He smirked and then the three of the team were smiling at each other with similar smiles. Team member Yamato thought that was the strangest thing he had seen that day, for sure. Well, they were a team after all and they seemed to match and always get it right, somehow.
The door was opened suddenly, interrupting the moment and, for the second time in the day, a green hurricane entered the room.
"My dear students ..." Heavy tears were streaming from the eyes of the sensei, who grabbed the three members of his team and pulled them to him in a collective hug. "I missed you so much, sorry for disappearing, I was solving some problems with the Raikage ... I'm happy to see that they haven't lost their youth fire yet!"
"We would never lose you, Gai-sensei." Sasuke and TenTen, as expected, were not looking the best in the embrace when Sakura entered the room, a notebook in her hands. She looked at the scene in front of her, at first not understanding what was going on there. Why were there so many people in the room? He had heard the voices of Gai and Lee outside and it wasn't even that close there.
"What are you doing here? I thought I told you to rest ..."
"Well, Sakura-chan ..." Sensei started, but when TenTen complained about the pain of being squeezed, there was no more room for words.
"I'm not accepting excuses, I want everyone out now. If you get in the way of their treatment, it will take even longer. Don't worry, Naruto will wake up soon, so please try to rest. Walk around the village or something , just don't riot the hospital, okay? " The pink-haired woman looked extremely tired, even in her speech, which was generally firmer. This time, none of them dared to argue, only Lee who helped TenTen to lie down before retiring.
Despite being upset, the expelled took advantage of their free time to get to know the village better and have a meal. The night was not long in coming, as was the next day.
This time, the drawing master was the first to wake up. Sasuke slept serene, he was damn perfect in everything he did, and Gai drooled in a subtle way, half his body out of bed, only Kami knew how he had managed to accomplish such a feat. He tried to leave as quietly as possible, so as not to wake either of them.
He was surprised to have woken up so early, he was disciplined, but these days he was a little lazy. Without having much to go, mainly alone, he went to visit his friends, despite what Sakura had said. I would like to go check on Naruto's situation, it had been a few days since he was unconscious and that made everyone still a little apprehensive.
TenTen was already awake, as she had imagined, she was too electric to sleep for long. She was having her breakfast and, even with her mouth full, she greeted him with joy.
"Hey, Sai. Disobedient, huh? I thought Sakura said she didn't want any riots in the hospital ..." She smiled openly, as if she found it amusing that they were "breaking the rules". He, not knowing exactly how to respond, just shrugged. It was just him, after all. If nobody else came, there would be no riots, right? Okay, but like him, none of the others had much to do, let alone where to go. They didn't know much about the village and, mainly, they didn't have many friends there besides themselves. Sooner or later some of them would end up showing up there.
"How do you feel?"
"What do you mean by that, you cheeky? I'm fine, of course. If you think that such an injury can stop a woman like me ..."
"Okay, okay. I didn't mean to offend you."
"Hunf. Never say things like that again." A natural silence hung in the room and the brunette took the moment to move closer to Naruto's bed. The blonde, like the day before, looked much better than on that day of the fight and seemed ready to wake up at any moment. He was strong. Like TenTen, he would never succumb in any way, for any reason; that was his ninja style.
"Get out ..." Still from the opposite side, he turned when the woman called him by name, his voice sounded cautious and it put him on alert. It was as if they were going to enter dangerous terrain and she needed to prepare for the challenge. He imagined several possibilities of what she meant, however her imagination was not fertile enough.
"Are you enjoying Sasuke?"
He choked, even though he wasn't eating anything. What kind of absurd question was that?
"Well, it might be a little rash to ask him about something like that, but that day you were having all that talk with Sakura and I even thought you wanted to approach him as a friend, after what happened in the fight, but then I I noticed that you get a little nervous whenever we talk about him or when he arrives ... like, I'm just asking why I'm curious, you know? Of course I have nothing to do with it ... and you don't have to say nothing if you don't want to ... "She herself seemed nervous, the way she spoke in a disorderly way and as if she couldn't stop her own mouth.
Did he like Sasuke? TenTen was not the best person, in his view, to help him with that, but anyone was better than himself, who did not understand very well neither his own feelings nor that of others. Perhaps it was not so bad to talk to her about the matter in order to try to understand each other, despite the tremendous shame she felt at that moment.
"I don't know. I feel awkward ... we talked close to the tree and he came close like that." He used his arm so that it served as an imitation of the scene between him and the Uchiha and placed it in front of him, placing it very close to his face and, later, to his ear, as it had really happened. The kunoichi opened her eyes and mouth wide, as if she didn't believe what she saw and heard. "I had a strange feeling, as if I wanted to kiss him or something, because he was very close. So every time he gets close, my heart starts to pound ... I thought it could be fear, because he also threatened me . Our hearts tremble when we are afraid, right? "
"W-well ..." The situation was more advanced than Mitsashi imagined. How come Sasuke had come close to that way of Sai, did his friend also have any interest? Okay, he was much more open about his feelings and all that, but to what extent? To the point of being lovingly interested in someone? Okay, they had managed to shock her with the information. "From my personal experiences, my hypothesis is that you are really enjoying him. I know it is difficult to understand these things at first, but then we get used to it ..."
"I'm dreaming?" Both dark eyes widened when they heard a third voice in the room. Naruto opened his eyes slowly, as they ached from the light in the room. He was still on medication, so everything that happened around him was a little muddy and the events looked as if he had dreamed. Why would I be dreaming about TenTen and Sai talking about Sasuke when there were thousands of better things to dream about? I should go back to sleep.
"N-Naruto?" Both said, but the clear eyes were no longer open. What had that been? Naruto was talking to himself while sleeping? Sai, despite the shock, assumed that this was not so abnormal; even at its best, it sometimes happened during the night when they were on a mission.
Sasuke entered that exact moment, causing Sai and TenTen to be scared again. As imagined, it wouldn't be long before any of them showed up. The newcomer looked from one to the other and then to Naruto unconscious. None of the two who were already there dared to even breathe before the meticulous look of that onyx orb.
"What are they doing?" A full minute of silence passed before anyone spoke.
"Two truths and a lie. We are trying to get to know each other better." TenTen knew that this was one of the most forced smiles he had ever given in his life. She was always very excited, so it was rare that her smile was anything but real. Unless she was lying or trying to hide something. Which didn't happen often, so she had a little trouble with that. "Do you want to participate?"
"It looks rough." He commented, simple. Extremely nervous, she laughed with a "hahaha" that even for her was not at all convincing. He certainly had no ability to lie. He turned his eyes to her, staring at her intently before saying what was on his mind.
"You know you're not hiding it very well, right?" Damn Sasuke, why did you know her so well?
"What are you talking about? Hiding what?" He asked defiantly. He opened a questioning smile and the brunette had to struggle to keep her expression serious; if he laughed at a time like that, it would be the end of him.
"Were you talking bad about me?"
"Do you think I need to speak ill of you behind your back? I might as well do it in front of you, loser! Ha, how bold."
"Do you know that every time you lie you compress your eyes?" Her face went pale and she had no more to say. Luckily, or unlucky, Naruto chose this moment to "wake up again", his loud laugh echoing throughout the room , if not for the entire hospital.
"You really lie really bad, TenTen-chan." Without even blinking, Sasuke moved quickly to the blonde's side, to see his condition. I didn't know he was awake. From the reaction of the other two, it seemed to have happened that very day, that very moment. It was great that Naruto was fine and able to communicate, he was relieved.
However, Uzumaki's lucidity had not been well received by everyone present. For the only female member of the Gai team, everything was very clear. The idiot had clearly heard the conversation between her and Sai, this was due to the fact that he had woken up earlier, thinking it was a dream, but after Sasuke's entry, stupid as he was, it was obvious that he had connected the two. points. They hadn't been exactly subtle in saying that Sai liked Sasuke, so Naruto needed to be a door, literally, to not have understood what it was about.
Besides, how had he dared to offend her in that way and, furthermore, put all his disguise down? Okay, the companion knew her and knew when she was lying, but she was trying to distract him with another subject, when the baka - had no other word to describe him in that moment of anger - had opened his mouth and put everything to lose . She wouldn't be Mitsashi TenTen if she let him out unscathed after that.
The ninja stood up like a lightning bolt, straight at the newly awake patient. She pushed Sai, who was unconsciously on his way, backwards, towards Sasuke, and climbed on the bed, his hand in fist, ready for the attack. His expression was contorted with anger and hatred and Naruto's face lost its color when he saw her so close, looking so threatening.
"Why, you little ..." She screamed, totally furious and completely beside herself.
Having heard the commotion that seemed to be settling in that familiar room, Sakura opened the door. The scene she saw left her a little shocked and totally unaware of what had led to it. TenTen was foaming with rage, his fist raised about to punch a lying Naruto, who appeared to be facing death right there at that moment. Sasuke with his hand around Sai's waist, his back to the other, both glued to what appeared to be a very intimate hug, from where he saw.
"What's going on here?" He felt himself blush as he took a second look at the situation of the brunettes standing. "I didn't know you were so advanced ..." Sasuke didn't even wait for her to finish the sentence to push the other man away from her. I hadn't hugged him because I wanted to, TenTen had simply pushed the other on top of him and to stop the two of them falling on the hospital machines, they had ended up in that position. What an embarrassing situation.
While Mitsashi was still on top of Naruto, he felt he should do something to calm her down. Why had she been so aggressive, after all? Nor had they said anything too much.
"TenTen ..."
"It's all right." Sai's voice ran over his, the drawing master letting out a resigned sigh. "No problem."
"Are you sure? You know how big Naruto is ..." She commented, looking ready to attack if the answer was negative. But he just shook his head, reinforcing his speech. The brunette still took a few seconds to move, but when she did, she was dissatisfied. She got off Naruto, who apologized in a small voice.
The Uchiha watched that scene with a curiosity that normally wasn't his thing ... since when TenTen and Sai were so close that they kept secrets from each other and, worst of all, secrets that TenTen seemed willing to defend with tooth and nail? What could it be and when exactly had things approached and confided? Was it possible that they were dating?
Of course! He felt smart to reach the right conclusion so quickly. So TenTen had left the memory of the old love behind and decided to start over? It was good news. She deserved to be happy. And if Sai had managed to calm her down like that with just a few words, then he looked like the right guy. Although happy for his friend, the finding seemed to bother him, in a way, however he didn't take it too seriously ... he had never liked Sai, it was obvious that he would be uncomfortable if he started dating someone close to him. itself.
"Is anyone really going to talk about what happened here?" Slowly, his green eyes dart around, analyzing them deeply and trying to force them to count. Unsuccessfully, since none of them seemed willing to speak up, she just sighs. He walks with calm steps towards the blond friend, getting so close that he himself began to suspect. But the medical ninja's intentions were soon revealed. "It was you again, wasn't it?" She asked quietly, squeezing his ear.
"Ouch, Sakura-chan!"
"Idiot! I should have known it would create confusion as soon as I woke up. You don't help yourself, do you? ? Even in a hospital bed, it seems to attract things. How are you feeling? "She started hard, but at the end of her speech, her voice sounded concerned.
"I'm great, ready for another one -ttebayo!"
"As always, I was worrying for nothing. I wonder why I still fall for it." The light-eyed ninja rolled her eyes, even though she appeared to be happy with the other's improvement. "Rest. The sooner it gets better, the sooner we get back to Konoha. It's great here, but I'm homesick. You too, TenTen, don't try too hard with this idiot here and get better, right?"
Mitsashi shook her head in agreement, returning to bed with the help of her most recent protégé. She seemed to want to say something, but gave up.
"And you two ..." She looked from Sasuke to Sai, unable to control her hot face. How close was that to them? Were you dating secretly? It was unusual, but well, they both deserved love and, if they had found it in each other, what an incredible thing. She was not used to public displays of affection, however if they were really together, it would happen frequently. He would have to get used to it ... damn, how well they looked together!
She giggled silently, imagining the couple. Sasuke frowned, trying to understand what expression was that of the ex-girl companion in love. And why were you looking at him and TenTen's recent boyfriend? I could only be crazy with fatigue because I was working so hard in that hospital. She was right, they needed to get back to Konoha as soon as possible.
"Well, never mind. Just take care." Without completing her reasoning, she turned and left, leaving the four in the room very confused. Apparently, staying a long time in Kumogakure was not doing any of their imaginations well.
