Kiba's birthday

Gai had finally arrived. Sasuke sighed with relief inside, as TenTen was distracted by the arrival of the sensei, all of them excited to write their wishes. After seeing him spying on Sai, the brunette started to stare at him, giggling, which made him extremely uncomfortable. First because he didn't want to be caught, second because it meant he had an interest, however he was just curious. There was nothing wrong with curiosity, right?

The Uchiha was dragged by his companions to a tent where Ino was distributing the tanzaku. TenTen, like Sakura, took several things, too indecisive to choose between just one thing. She wanted to find love, but she also wanted peace, money and other things. Lee and Gai had only one wish: that their youthful fire would never die. With that in their minds, there was nothing else they needed. In this way, they wrote on green notes, which symbolized hope.

Sasuke wishes his friend wasn't so damn observant. She aimed her chocolate eyes at him, practically forcing him to choose some color. He hadn't caught any yet, since he thought it was bullshit. However, before those fierce eyes, he found himself compelled to choose anyone just so that she would stop looking at him that way. He thought for a while and decided that white was the most neutral; everyone wanted peace, after all, and his trajectory led him to want the same thing.

"No, I'm going to give you another chance. Take another one. " TenTen snatched the white note from his hands, which made him sigh; he didn't even know how many times he had sighed since she'd gotten over that story that he needed love. She was even a little curious to know when she decided that Sai was the ideal person for that.

"I don't want another one."

"Sasuke! You don't collaborate either! "

"Am I the only one who remembers that you promised that you wouldn't interfere? I thought we were right! " Embarrassed, she blushed for a moment. Of course, he remembered when he had talked about Neji and she moved on, how could she not? She felt frustrated. With myself, with my friend, with the world. With Neji for leaving and leaving her alone to deal with that situation.

"Okay, I'm not going to get in your way." She replied, returning her white tanzaku. However, if the Uchiha was thinking that he had won that dispute, he didn't really know Mitsashi TenTen. - But you can't meddle in my desire. And I want you and Sai to be together!

She wrote something on her red paper and showed it to him. In bold letters, SASUSAI was read. The brunette's only reaction was to roll his eyes. For him, the kunoichi could wish for anything he wanted; it shouldn't necessarily mean anything. She could do whatever she wanted, after all. And so did he.

The night came quickly. After hanging up their wishes, the Gai team agreed to return home to change; they couldn't get to Kiba's birthday in that traditional dress. Gai, who had not been invited to the party (none of the Sensei had been, later found out until Kiba had insisted that his mother was not present, claiming that it was a party for him and his friends), said he would continue to Tanabata Matsuri until its completion.

Sasuke, and incredibly Lee, arrived earlier than TenTen. Assuming it was a party between friends, they decided among themselves that they could wait for her inside the house. They rang the bell and were not surprised to be greeted by someone other than Kiba. The birthday boy was out of sight, and so was Akamaru.

The two newcomers entered together, catching sight of Naruto right away; he was screaming while telling a story that is supposed to be funny for Shikamaru who, for obvious reasons, did not seem interested. In addition to the famous village ninjas, Inuzuka had invited some ordinary civilians with whom he had befriended. The place was not crowded, however there were more people than everyone expected, initially.

"Hey, Sasuke, Eyebrow. You finally arrived! Where's TenTen-chan? " Naruto broke into a huge smile when he realized that those could be his potential targets for telling a joke. Especially Lee, who always laughed at the same things as him. Shikamaru, on the other side, waved to the other two, taking advantage of that moment to get rid of the blonde and go for a walk, probably looking for a place to take a nap.

"She must be coming. He went home to get ready after the festival. " Lee was willing to answer, while Sasuke just shrugged, with nothing interesting or adequate enough to speak. He was clearly not very comfortable there, in general, however finding those familiar faces left him a little relieved. And, of course, it was also important to remember that, fortunately, groups were not mixing, so the chance that the people he knew were talking to people he didn't know was minimal. He was an introvert, always had been; he hated talking, especially with people he didn't know.

"Cool, -ttebayo! Are you up for drinks? I have no one to talk to. Shikamaru goes to parties thanks, I think, because he doesn't even speak and just yawns. Chouji, Kiba and Shino are missing, even Akamaru. Sakura-chan went with Ino and Sai somewhere, was here beside me and suddenly, BUM, they disappeared. Even Hinata doesn't want to be near me, I got close to her and she ran off. Am I stinky? Why don't people want to be around me today? " Uzumaki made an expression of sadness and, as wrong as that was, he wanted to laugh. He didn't know about the others, but Hinata was nowhere near Naruto for obvious reasons; and only the stupid could not see the reason.

"Come on! The fire of youth must be quenched with a good sip of cold water! " The Uchiha, without much choice, followed the two companions who embarked on an animated conversation. Naruto and Lee understood each other like no one else. Despite all the rivalry passed between them, it can be said that even that was a good thing; the two ninjas had considered their abilities considerably just thinking of becoming better than the other. In a way, it had been like an inspiration.

Luckily, the kitchen was empty. The blonde, having arrived first, was already aware where the drinks were, so he pointed to the other two. Lee stayed in the water, he couldn't drink. If he did, the danger of destroying the party and Kiba's home was great, as he had done before. A small drop of alcohol in your mouth would be enough to cause damage. Sasuke was not much of a drinker, however it was impossible to ignore the teasing voice of his eternal enemy / friend by challenging him to take a dose of sake.

"I doubt you will take another one!" He was challenged again by the baka, but he was not stupid at all.

"Are you trying to get me drunk, dobe? Go on dreaming that I will get drunk with two shots! Are you mistaking me for you? " It was inevitable that his voice would be full of debauchery, which made the other man laugh loud enough for the people in the room to hear, despite the relatively loud music.

"You got me, you're afraid. Another dose? " They laughed, like old best friends they used to be some time ago.

Suddenly, Sakura appeared in the kitchen like a hurricane. The kunoichi's hair was messed up and glued to her face, she looked so sweaty. He seemed to be doing some kind of exercise, confirmed mainly when she started to speak, in a breathless voice.

"You have to come! Shino is dancing! Everyone is dancing, come, come! " Naruto and Lee, obviously, would never miss a moment like that. The possibility of seeing Aburame, always so closed, loosening up like that was something that would probably never happen again, so they needed to witness that incredible event. But even if that was not the case, the word dance, by itself, already made them excited.

While the other two followed Sakura comfortably, Sasuke made the decision to remain there in the kitchen, alone. There was a little noise coming from the room, but it was quieter where it was. And there were no people to bother him. Apart from the rooms, was there a better place for him than that, at that moment? Did not exist.

However, his moment of peace and tranquility was short-lived. Not even he was surprised when a person, no less than the birthday boy, entered the room. Also, Kiba himself made no expression of disbelief when he saw the Uchiha there. Maybe I even hoped for that; it was just like him to be antisocial. It was fortunate that he was even there; in his mind, the scenario was worse and he hadn't even attended the party.

"Hey Sasuke." The newcomer greeted him, receiving a nod in response. Inuzuka took the sake bottle on the counter, which Naruto had left, and took a glass for himself. "So, how are you and Sai doing? Did you see him around? "

Sasuke had no reaction but to snort; it was even an involuntary move. Was even Kiba in that game? There was no him and Sai. When would people start to understand?

"I don't know what you understand, but I don't see him that way." Akamaru's companion took on a discredited expression and sighed. Anticipating a long, tiring conversation, he rested his arms on the bench, rising to sit on it. He was aware that it had nothing to do with it, nor was he fervently rooting for the couple or anything, but the way Sai had been looking around when he saw it some time earlier had intrigued him; I wanted to understand what was going on there.

Kiba was no expert on novels. Even his first was being at that very moment, with Ino, an official courtship. Before that, he stayed with some women in the village, however none of the relationships lasted long or became very serious. Most of the time, he was not interested in getting attached to someone and, also, was in a constant process of learning and improving skills, so his time to invest in a novel was scarce. So, he just wanted to express what he believed.

"Sasuke, realizing Sai doesn't mean that you will automatically become a couple. You can't just say that you don't like something or that it doesn't work if you haven't tried it before. " The super-smelling brunette could be an idiot most of the time, but at that moment, he seemed much wiser, and more convincing, than Naruto and TenTen had ever been.

"What if I don't want to try it?"

"Ah, come on, don't be so insecure and cowardly. If you don't like it, fine, you don't have to. " Sasuke took time to digest those words. Really, what he said made sense. He had never thought of it that way, not least because his knowledge of that kind of thing was limited, but there was even a certain reason in what he heard. He was in a phase when he was not hating Sai, he even found him somewhat pleasant to live with and had come to appreciate him for his help during the battle. I could try a loving involvement, well, loving involvement was a very strong word. I could try to stay close to him to know what it would feel like. If he didn't like it, he could just walk away.

He was Sasuke Uchiha, after all. Wasn't that what you had been doing all your life? Kiba, the damn Kiba who had implanted that stupid idea in his head ... was he really considering that? How much had he drunk?

"Come on, Uchiha, don't you know what to do?" Inuzuka questioned, mocking, when he realized that the other was thinking for too long. Well, at least he seemed to be considering his ideas, which was a good sign in itself.

"Of course I know, don't be an idiot." When the other gave a loud laugh, as was typical of him, Sasuke wondered what he was doing there in the kitchen, having a decent conversation, about romance, with the most unlikely person possible. How did it end there?

The conversation was momentarily cut off by Sai's entrance, who was a little embarrassed to see who was in the room. Kiba was on the counter, a bottle of sake open beside him, while the ex-nukenin remained standing, standing in front of the first. Apparently, the two were talking about something.

Not wanting to interrupt, after all he just went in there to get a drink, he cleared his throat, scratching his throat to force himself to say something, instead of standing there like an idiot.

"I just came after something to drink."

"Feel free." Kiba closes the sake bottle and steps down from the counter. "Well, it's my birthday! I just remembered that I need to pay attention to my other guests. Sasuke will help you find something to drink. - The owner of the Sharingan tried to hold on, but it was inevitable to roll his eyes. Wasn't the idiot seeing how obvious it was? Where was he thinking that Kiba would have an attitude different from that? Changed a roe, he was the same as always. - It's yours. - The ninja still had the audacity to hit the chest of the brunette with different eyes and leave laughing, as if he had told a very funny joke.

Sasuke honestly couldn't believe it had happened. What an unnecessary scene. He would kill the other when he got the chance. However, there was something more urgent ahead of him.

Inevitably, the weather got weird. Sai stood there, speechless, as he watched the other ask what he wanted. I would like to act normal in that way, but I was very nervous and ended up being unable to speak or articulate properly. Stammering a little, he replied that he wanted only water. He came closer to the counter, to get his drink, even leaning against it, but only because his legs were shaking and he was afraid of falling.

"I didn't even see you coming." The cartoon ninja commented, even with a shaky voice. He wanted to get rid of that sinister atmosphere that had settled in the room after Kiba left. She wondered for a moment if it would be very strange if he said he was going to look for Sakura or someone like that and just turned around to go. In the doubt of what to do, he waited, at least, for the other to answer his attempt to raise the issue.

If what he expected was a complete answer, he would die there waiting. Sasuke just nodded. He had no patience for those little conversations, he never had. Whenever Naruto came with those things on top of him, even though he knew he didn't like to talk, especially in the morning, the brunette simply shook his head, not willing to spend his saliva at those moments.

He thought about what Kiba said for a moment. Should I try to experiment or should I just turn around and walk away as if nothing that night had happened? He wanted to laugh at himself when he realized that he was considering Konoha's number 2 baka proposal. Number 2, because he had just become number 1, just because that stupid idea was going through his mind.

He didn't want to give himself enough time to think if his attitude was right or wrong, because if he did, he would hesitate. Taking control of his actions and ignoring any voice in his mind that said he shouldn't do that, Sasuke pushed Sai's thin body against the bench, holding his neck with his only remaining hand and, before either of the two two had time to process the information, the lips were on each other.
