Leverage?

The Wendigo was laughing wildly. His every motion oozed confidence, for he knew he had all the right cards on the table.

'What... is wrong with this guy?' Lilith was weirded out, '...I want to kill him for some reason.' She didn't like him.

He could see the confusion in Lilith's eyes, her desire to understand the things she couldn't was impossible to hide, "You wish to know what a Herald of Beyond truly is? Are you telling me that you do not even know what you are? Gahahaha! What did I even expect, I suppose after wallowing in the almighty power for eons, you have lost your memory after being cast ou—"

"Just get to the point; I'm already regretting my decisions. You haven't told me anything and you're already playing with me? Hmm, I wonder, wouldn't it be better to just kill you instead of wasting my time? You're really good at making me change my mind." Lilith was not having any of his bullshit.

"Ah… I see—Ahem, then, let me tell you—Gods are not real, they are merely pawns of the Creator that seats at the top of the—"

"Are you talking the Seraphs and how they are sent down by a higher power and fulfill the roles of Divinity?"

"…what?" The Wendigo was taken aback. "How did you~"

"Yeaaaaaaaahhhhh, I already know eeeeeeeeeeeeeverything about that whole schtick." Lilith clicked her tongue in irritation, looking at Wendigo's dumb expression.

"Priestess, i-i-is this true?" shakily, Dhampy asked. They have been following a God, but, it

"Hmm? Yeah, Gods are scams... kind of. Ah, don't worry, Goddess Letza is very much real. She's the only one who's real. Every other Gods are her children. Everything exist because of her doing. Oh yeah, she's really happy for having you as one of her first follower. Even if you are just doing it because you are following me." Lilith casually explained.

"I-" Dhampy panicked listening to Lilith.

"Don't worry, not every believes in God. She's more than happy that you believe even if by a little." comforting words came from Lilith.

But, opposite of her, Dhampy's usually expressionless face twisted. She panicked and looked around and then started praying on the spot, '...I believe you are real, Goddess Letza... I love you... please don't punish me.'

[Just so you know, Dhampy is praying right now... you're fucking with her... this is apparently her first time praying.] Alpha reported. She was also watching something happening in the world of the Seraphs, [...it seems like this is her first time praying to a God. She's actually believing on the Goddess.]

'I can already hear Letza crying tears of joy. ' But she was too tired to care for Letza's overreaction. Lilith casually returned to the Wendigo as she released a weak exasperated sigh, "While my follower over there prays. We should return to you. And I have got to say. You're making it very hard to keep you alive. I thought you have interesting and vital information about what I want to know. But your little Being of Beyond is just another reskinned version of what I know? How useless."

"You know about the Gods and their truth!? Ho-how! I, a being of the Darkness, only heard whispers between realities to gain this forbidden knowledge! How can you know!? Do not bluff with me!"

Lilith waved her hands in irritation, "What do you mean forbidden? Even I know that Zeus is real, and to that matter, God of the Underworld Hades' dog is now my Puppy sleeping back at my village... I think. He only ever does what he wants, so I don't really know. More importantly, what do you mean bluff? Do you think I'll bluff about this kind of thing?"

"…" The Wendigo failed to respond.

"You have no idea who or what that is, do you? Okay, see here, Zeus is a God from the old and lost Greek Myths. It was one of the long-lost civilizations, and we only have records of it in Ancient Artifacts called books and the vastly weird broken Internet. It's a salvaged knowledge… aaaaannnnnnd you don't know that too. I'm a child… and a daemon to boot, and I know more about all these things more than a self-important asshole of an ethereal being?"

"Pri-Pri-Priestess, is that really true?"

Again, Dhampy was in disbelief. She had heard of the Ancient Civilization and their Mythology. She always thought they were just stories from a time long forgotten. But, Lilith says otherwise.

"Yes, I cross-checked the facts, and it turns out it's the truth." Lilith inwardly sighed, 'Maybe keeping Dhampy here wasn't such a good idea, after all.'

...Dhampy was currently experiencing a mental breakdown. She was slowly rethinking how she sees life and legends.

Lilith once again released an exasperated sigh, "See, useless, do you even know anything that I do not know? Do you have any useful information? Anything at all?"

The Wendigo failed to give an answer.

Seething, Lilith looked at the Wendigo with demeaning pair of eyes, "I really thought you had something that you wanted to know. But, in the end, you were only full of air. You have broken your end of the promise, which means my oath is now nulled. I will have to kill you, and before you think that, you can just go slithering back to your little dimension, whatever you called it, Darkness, or something; remember that I have a connection with the one true Goddess. Rather, your soul or your very existence will be tormented and then erased. Do you know what that means?"

[The High-Seraph Luceer is warning you not to do anything rash. If the Black Spirit's host is killed, they will only return to the Darkness. Killing it will result in the failure of the mission.]

"You will disappear from the face of the earth. No, not just from this world. But every layer of reality. You will experience a true end." Lilith disregarded Luceer's warning. She spoke slowly, perfectly enunciating every word, "You will die."

"…"

"You were fucked the moment you decided to claw your way up to wherever you came from."

The Wendigo was beginning to sweat beads of ice. When this all began, he had leverage. But slowly, the more Lilith spoke, the more the Wendigo understood, he was playing with the Devil herself.

"Still not going to say anything? Hmm, I am already bored. If you can't prove to me you're of any use. Dhampy, kill him and I will trap his soul— 10…9…."

"Wait! WHAT!?"

"Oh you're panicking? That good for the brain. Think some more...8"

The countdown had begun. The Wechuge was thrown into a panic shortly after giving an ultimatum. Right now, the tiny daemon became bigger than she could ever hope to become.

"7…6"

"The ones who stand above the Gods! I can tell you about the creatures whose wings flow like the light and is the…Ophan—"

"The [Ophanims], [Dominions], [Archangels], [High-Seraphs] blah, blah, blah — I know their titles and the different names given to them. I should know; I read about them in the [Hell Archives] and talked to one earlier today, so that is another set of useless information—5…4…—Dhampy, draw your blade, prepare to behead him—3...."

"Yes, Boss." Dhampy had recovered from her shock. With her new found faith to not only at the Gods but to Lilith as well.

[Dhampy: Loyalty +5]

She had come to understand, that what they were doing was a mission given by the Gods. A sacred mission. So, even if she didn't want to betray Mirsha, they had to do it. Dhampy had come to come to understand Lilith even if by just a little.

So, Dhampy prepared her sword.

By the Wendigo's feet, was a pile of droplet of ice.

"The creator of the Seraphs and the High-Seraphs, I know who it was who created everything, it is the Ab—"

"The Absolute One, I know who she is; she even gave me wine. You've been calling me Herald of the Beyond. You should at least know who I am working for and I was just talking about her just no... wait a minute, you don't even know her name! Hahaha, and you're trying to make a deal with me? What a joke—2…."

Lilith showed the Wendigo the biggest smile she had ever adorned in both lives, "In the end, you could not give me anything noteworthy so.... 1—Dhampy, kill him!"

Dhampy already drew her sword and swung it without any hesitation. The idea of absorbing the Wendigo's Darkness after its death gave her enough push to go through the act.

The Wendigo watched the heartless butcher's blade descend… his eyes widened as he felt the genuine threat coming.

'She's not joking... she's going to kill me... the Absolute One is going to erase me.' quickly, this idea in his head appeared, '...I'm going to be thrown back!'

In that moment, a dark place appeared in his head. The Darkness was an endless loop of the torturous domain. A world where no peace exists, and killing and devouring was an everyday occurrence.

Even if he wasn't tormented and then erased by the divines, he would only return to another hellscape. The Wendigo did not want to go back, so it sought out information within its mind to live.

It sought out its most profound fears and traumas it could offer. Something that might be worth something to the she-devil.

In that time, when his life was about to come to an end, the Wendigo's mind worked faster than it had ever done. Scouring everything he could in his mind so that he could be spared by the Herald. It was then that he found a light, not within him, but through filtered words of the Herald.

A chance appeared. A new rope he could grab hold of, and despite not knowing it was steady or not, the Wechuge did not hold back as he shouted, "THE DARKNESS!"

"Stop!"

Dhampy's sword stopped centimeters away from his neck.

"Huh, that is interesting, Darkness, you say? That's your little dimension, right? Hmmm, I actually don't know much about that." Finally, she took an interest, "Better not disappoint me, Wendy."

Lilith's hands were raised, and it would be the end of his life with one motion. The Wendigo knew that he could not slip nor make any more mistakes.

"The place is not only the place where came from... bu-but also all of the other Black Spirits as well…."

Lilith contemplated his words, from seconds to minutes, thinking it through as if he was weighing the life of the Wechuge with the information he brought into the table.

"I-I can tell you everything you want to know about it! Everything you want to know, I can tell you. How we are born, how we grow to be Black Spirits. Just… don't erase me…." The Wechuge added.

"…hmm, interesting, you have disappointed me time and time again; let's see if you can finally redeem yourself. Black Spirit Wechuge, tell me—what are you Black Spirits?"

The true interrogation has began. Lilith has finally regained leverage, 'Let's get this started.'

Over in Hell there was a group of Gods and one girl who thought, 'She's good.'

Luceer considered learning from Lilith's method.
