As he seen all the youths do, Frost steps up to the man in the yellow robes. He reaches his hand out and Frost steps back.
"What is it you are doing good sir? I am not familiar with this practice." Frost looks boldly into the eyes of this stranger.
A fierce look meets his. "We are testing your power level to see if you qualify for a war clan. We all need to do our part and you people from the outskirts are just as responsible to fill in the clans as we are in the capital, if you refuse your family will live in shame and you will be shunned." He didn't hesitate to answer, but there was a strange look of bafflement in his eyes. "You look to be 20 or so years old, you have been tested before, haven't you?"
"No, I just arrived in this land and do not understand the culture. I don't know what you require from me, but I will surrender to this test of yours." Frost steps forward once more.
"Just relax and focus on who you are." The man says. Frost can't help but think, 'how do I focus on me if I don't remember who I am. Oh well, I'll focus on what I believe to be true.'
The mans hand falls on Frost's chest and a wild aura of bright white light shoots out in all directions. The lengths of the tendrils visible are ten or more feet long and the snap and fling themselves all around. Franny and the other youths still present all gasp and some shout out in amazement. The man pulls his hand away quite fast so the incident only lasts a second or two, but it doesn't stop the people there from reacting.
"Wow, I've never heard of a test being so crazy", "How did he do that? Do you think he cheated?", "I've never even seen that man before, why would he have that energy and not one of us?",
"If he's that strong, maybe he'll be a chief."
Not knowing what they were speaking about, Frost looks to the man, "Did I do something wrong? Everyone seems on edge now."
The man looked up with wonder in his eyes, "You may end up being the strongest I've ever found. I'll look good bringing you back." He reaches behind himself and pulled forth a rolled piece of paper. On it was words Frost did not understand, but the man explained, "I am Max, I am second in command of the yellow clan, The Yellow Flash. Our chief is Lightning Jack, he's one of the six chiefs and he's never been bested in the wars. When you two have a chance to pick a clan, I recommend ours."
With that statement the man turned to the attendant at hand. "Have two spots ready on the transport this time, we actually have a pair of clansmen to take with us." Then turns back to Frost, "Be ready tomorrow, the transport will be here right after sunrise." Then as if I'm a hurry, Max grabs his sack of papers and walks to one of the largest buildings in the town and disappears inside.
Frost then realizes someone is pulling at his arm, "WOW Frosty, you never told me you could do that." Franny's face is full of wonder.
"My dear, what is it I have done? I just stood there, that man made that happen, not me." Frost was very confused. "Also please either Frost or Reggy. I don't know if I like them combined like that."
"That was your power he brought out, do you know what you're meant to do? What kind of specialist you are?" Franny was bouncing from foot to foot waiting on his answer.
"Dear Franny, I'm not even sure what this power you speak of is. Let alone a specialist or any of that."
"We all have power," Franny looked amazed that he wouldn't know, but went into an explanation anyway. "We use our power to make the things we want to make happen, happen. I am a healer specialist so if someone's injured, I can use my power to heal them. Do you know your specialty?" Frost shook his head. "Not a problem we have ways of finding out." Then she grabs Frost's hand and pulls him out of town and a short way from the edge where twenty or so strange plants were growing.
