The Story Behind The Beginning

Violet POV

I woke up the next day, and Liam was asleep. This is the first time I woke up before he did. He normally wakes up before me, but I had a bad dream. Well, it was a good dream, but I feel sad now.

My dream was of my mother. She was with me, we were playing. Then we watched father as he worked, and laughed at the faces he'd make, when he got confused. We were baking, and we watched the sunset, but then I remembered that I left my doll in the other room. I got it, and was running back to mom, when my dream ended. I start crying.

I feel Liam's arms around me, tighten. I look up to see him staring down at me, with sadness in his eyes. His sadness quickly turned to worry and anger.

"What's wrong? What happened? Whoever made you cry I'm going to beat their ass! It was cat boy wasn't it. Oh, he's so going-" I cut him off.

"N-No...Liam." He wipes the tears off my face.

"Did you hurt yourself? Have a bad dream?" I nod my head. "Which one?" He asks.

"I had a good dream, but it reminded me of my mother." I smile at him. "It's okay, I'm alright. I just miss her a bit is all. You don't need to do anything. Just having you here is making me feel better." I snuggle closer to him. I can hear his heartbeat.

It's really fast, he must have been worried. I listen as it slows down, and wait till it's steady. I pull back.

"See, I'm fine!" I smile. We hear yelling in the halls. We look at each other confused.

"Liam!!!" We hear before the door suddenly opens. A tall girl is visible. She has vibrant red eyes, and long bright green hair in a side ponytail. She looks at us with anger.

"How could you?! We're best friends!" She notices us, and blushes in embarrassment.

"Lindsey? What are you doing here? And why are you mad?" Liam questions.

"What do you mean why am I mad?! I'm sitting at home minding my own business, when Bella pops in. She told me you're fiancé is here. So I rush up here, to find out that my Best Friend didn't even tell me?!" Lindsey tells him off. I start to giggle, and it turns into and laughing fit. They look at me like I'm crazy.

"Hello! I'm Violet!" I greet her, as I start to calm down. I sit up, and so does Liam.

"I'm sorry Lin, I just didn't find the time to tell you! You won't be last to know anymore!" Liam apologizes.

"Yeah? You always say that, but I'm always the last to find out these things!" Lindsey hisses. She turns to me, and smiles. "Hello~! So you're the famous Violet!"

"Famous?" I question. Liam gives her a 'cut it out' motion with his hand. She snickers.

"Yep! He may be unreliable when it comes to telling people things, but he talked about you all the time. In fact he couldn't shut up about you! Sometimes I had to shove food in his mouth to shut him up, but he'd just swallow and keep talking. I mean, did you have to make him fall that hard?" I blush hard. I heard he talked about me, but this is a whole new level...

"H-h-he w-what?" I can barely even speak.

"Lindsey! Shut up! You're making her uncomfortable!" He yells.

"You're just mad, because I outed you!" She giggles.

"I mean, I kind of already knew...but this reached a whole different level..." I say shyly. Liam's eyes widen.

"W-What?! Who told you?!" Liam panics.

"L-Loretta..." I feel bad, for she'll probably be hearing about this later...

"What?! I trusted her with that!" He looks hurt.

"It's okay! I mean, thank you for caring!" He looks up at me, when I say this. I smile.

"You're welcome." I hear him mumble as he pouts. I hug him. Lindsey clears her throat, and we turn to look at her.

"Well, I hate to interrupt lovebirds, but I will be taking Violet!" Lindsey tells us.

"W-what?!" I say, as she pulls me out of bed. "Where are we going?!"

"Somewhere away from this idiot!" She pulls me out of the room. Before I left, I turned and blew a kiss to Liam.

"So..you and Liam~!" Lindsey starts.

"What about us?" I ask.

"You two are cute! God, he was always talking about you. You know, I know you very well, right?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, he would tell me a bunch of random facts, and if I ever got confused, he would tell me a bunch of stories about you. You do know his world revolves around you, right?"

"No it doesn't...I'd be way to lucky if it did. I'm already too lucky, the one I love, likes me back.." I respond. There's no way his world revolves around me.

"Are you kidding? He loves you, do you not see that? He's always talking about you, I think he knows more about you, than you do! You are what he cherishes the most. He used to always say 'Someone I know, wanted to know how I felt about marriage, and if I want to marry her! I told her that I like her, and I'd be happy marring her. She's so pretty and I like when she laughs. Did you know if you make her laugh she covers her mouth with her hand? I've tried taking her hand away from her mouth, so I can see her beautiful smile. But every time she moves it back!' That would be about the time I would shove an Apple in his mouth." She giggles. I don't know what my face looks like, but I know that I feel very happy on the inside. She knew all of this stuff, and the reason is that he told her it all.

"I-I didn't know he told you all that..." I look away in embarrassment. My cheeks are as hot as a boiling pot of water.

"Well of course my dear, what part of 'his world revolves around you' do you not get?"

"Well, I assumed he didn't care about our letters, when we were young. I thought I was a big burden when I wrote to him, so I tried to keep it to once a month."

"Well, we always looked foreword to when you wrote..." Lindsey smiles.

"Why?" I ask her.

"Because he was the happiest when reading you're letters. Before you two got engaged, he received letters from a ton of different countries. He felt obligated to write letters to them. But when yours arrived, he put the mountain of letters aside. He spent at least five days on each of the letters he wrote for you. But only an hour on the others." Lindsey explained.

"Really?" I ask.

"Yep! You are the shining light of his life. You mean so much to him." We reach a room and she walks in, with me following. "I'll be back in a bit." Lindsey says, about to walk out the door.

"Where are you going?" I ask her.

"Bathroom..." she runs out the door. Not long after Zack comes walking in.

"Well hello!" He smiles.

"Hello" I say.

"Where did everyone go?"

"Lindsey went to the bathroom."

"May I ask you something?" Zack asks.

"Um..okay?"

"Why were you so sure I wouldn't kill you?"Zack asks.

"I wasn't..." Zack seems taken aback by my answer.

"You do know, that I don't really like you, right?"

"I know. I never didn't know...I just chose to ignore that."

"Then why were you going to sit in a room, with someone who has the chance to kill you, and doesn't like you?"

"Because I can tell you care deeply for your brother, and I knew you wouldn't do that to him. I knew you wouldn't try and hurt anyone he cares about. I had faith that you wouldn't for his sake, and for yours too. I didn't want him to be mad at you anymore."

"Tell me the truth..." Zack mutters irritated

"That was the truth." I calmly tell him.

"Why are you trying to hurt me?" He asks.

"I'm...not...?" I'm confused. Why would I want to hurt him.

"Then why did you die!" That confuses me even more.

"What are you talking about?" I ask him.

"Nothing. I was just remembering something. The day he stopped me from killing you, if he had moved out of the way, what would you have done?"

"I...I don't know...probably accept death."

"Why you? Of all people, why did he have to fall in love with the one he was sent to kill. I lied to him. The real reason I wanted to kill you, was because your father helped kill a very important person to me. So I wanted to kill an important person to him."

"He did what?!"

"Someone I cherish deeply died by my hand, and he was the reason I did it."

"Why?"

"What do you mean why? I did it, because I had a potion on me!" His eyes start watering. "I couldn't resist it, he fooled me into drinking a potion, and she smiled...she smiled as I stabbed her..." he looks disgusted and falls to the floor. "She said she'll always forgive me, even for this." He chokes out.

"I'm sorry."

"You shouldn't be! I can't believe I went as far as to get my brother to kill you. That day I died alongside her. With her last breath, her soul slipped away, taking what was left of my heart. I tried doing that to my brother, and I can't forgive myself for it." With his story, gave the answer to my unanswered question.

Liam is still the one I knew, and still know today. He only changed when his brother gave him the potion. As the realization hit me, Liam and Lindsey come running in.

"Violet! Are you okay? Did he try anything?" Liam asks me with worried eyes.

"I'm okay...he didn't try anything at all" I turn to Zack . "I forgive you..I'm sorry my father brought you pain. If it were before my mother died, I wouldn't have believed you. But since then, the very thought of love makes him angry. I understand how angry you must have been toward him. I would feel the same."

I kneel down next to him, and put my arms out. He looks at me, as if deciding whether or not it's a trap. He takes the hug, and whispers something to me. I smile, and we pull out of the hug.

"Did we miss something?" Liam asks scratching his head. Zack looks at Liam.

"How did you do it? How did you resist it?" Zack asks.

"What do you mean?" Liam asks.

"You didn't kill her...she-she survived, you felt the potion didn't you?"

"Oh! Yeah, it hurt like hell every time I tried to resist. But when she told me she loved me for the first time, I suddenly felt a burst of strength. I knew that there's no way I can kill her. Not if I have any say in the matter!" He smiles at me. I smile back.

"I'm sorry, little brother. I used you to get my revenge on Forde . I fell victim to the potion, and that's when I killed Annabelle." Natsu's eyes widen.

I hear a voice say something to me, I can't tell exactly what they said. They say it again, but clearer.

"Please...tell him I love him, that I'm coming...please...Tell Zack." My eyes widen.

"Who said that?!" I yell.

"Annabelle..." the voice answers "please...tell him."

"Vivi? What is it?" Liam asks.

"I heard someone whisper something to me." I tell them.

"Who?" Liam asks.

"They said their name was 'Annabelle'...and they wanted me to tell you.." I turn to Zack" that she loves you, and is coming.." Zack's eyes get huge.

"Stop lying to me! She's...." a tear rolls down his cheek.

"No! Zack stop crying! I'm alright! Tell him I'm alright miss! He won't stop crying! I'm trying to arrive here...but I can only contact you...I can be there in 5 minutes, that's as soon though!" The voice says.

"Um..okay I will tell him. Um...Zack...She says that you need to stop crying...that she is coming...she said she's alright." I tell him.

"No! Stop lying to me! I watched her life drain from her eyes! She-she...it's so painful..." Zack says.

"She said she can be here in 5 minutes." I tell him. I look up at Liam, to get him to help me, but he's trembling. "Liam? What's wrong?" I ask. Liam looks at me, and pulls me up off the floor. He silently walks me out of the room. He hugs me tightly.

"Violet...Zack can't take anymore of hearing this. I haven't seen him like this since she died. We should let him calm down before we talk to him again." I nod, and he leads me to our room.

That night, I heard the words Zack whispered to me over and over. I can't help but feel that he changed his mind after hearing me this morning.

"I don't hate you, anymore. I hope you really love my brother"

The next morning, Zack knocked on our door, and I was very surprised.
