Chapter 18

Doc looked through the conclusions of the previous meeting. A very bulky file. She needed to go through them thoroughly. Deccan had been agitated since he saw it but she didn't understand what the fuss was all about. She flipped it, she was looking for something. She found it on page 35, the last page. It read:

Dr. Annabelle Stone can be eliminated after every document and information pertaining to human genetic modification and reconfiguration has been duely recovered. This elimination excludes other members of... Doc was not interested in the rest. She had seen what she wanted to see. She twirled around in her chair. Who should she send when the time comes? Doc said laughing to herself.

Next target

"Senator Albert, Howard and Doug" Doc said hitting three files on the nearby table. This got GMNs attention.

"You want us to kill Senator Albert, Howard and his dog? " GMN-6 asked

"No. You are to kill Senator Albert, Senator Howard and Senator Douglas. Do not bring the head of any dog for me" Doc said sternly. Everyone looked at GMN-4 who looked like he couldn't care less.

"You also have to kill the decoys." Deccan said.

"Decoys? " GMN-2 asked

"You see, we don't want to raise any suspicions. We delete only our targets and fingers start pointing but if we make it random then we can join and point fingers" Doc said.

"How many decoys are we talking about?"GMN-3 asked.

"Just four" Doc said and proceeded to hand over the files of the decoys.

"Let's go with this one first. I don't like the look of his face."GMN-5 said

"First? Did I forget to mention that you take them all out at the same time?" Doc asked

"How are we supposed to do that? " GMN-9 asked

"Oh, you'll come up with a way. Till then you have shooting practice. Your guns have arrived" Doc said

"Hurray! " GMN-6 exclaimed like a child allowed to ride the Ferris wheel.

"You have also been given new wheels and gadgets. " Doc said

GMN 5, 6, 7 and 9 seemed very happy with the recent developments. GMN-3 didn't seem overly happy, GMN-2 seemed to have something else on his mind while GMN-1 and 4 were their normal self, disinterested.

"We need your shooting skills to be perfect. So work hard guys" Doc said dismissing them. She parked her things and left together with Deccan.

"How do we get seven people at the same time? There are only eight of us" GMN-9 said

"Our first solo mission"GMN-5 said with glee

"And we get new toys" GMN-6 said in the same tone.

"I'm kind of getting tired of taking orders from 1" GMN-5 said

The rest of the GMNs turned to look at her except 1, 3 and 4. They didn't have her time.

"Now your just being mean" GMN-7 said

"Yeah. GMN-1 is really good at coordinating and we've had no failure "GMN-6 said

"Yeah, she's really top-notch when it comes to planning " GMN-9 said

"Whatever. I can do better on my own." GMN-5 retorted. GMN-1 just stood up and walked out. She didn't even act as if she heard her name. She just got to the door and said

"Shooting practice commences in ten minutes " GMN-1 said

GMN-4 stood up, turned to GMN-5 and said.

"Keep pushing " and he left.

"Great! Now even 4 is upset" GMN-9 said leaving also. 

The GMNs began to leave one by one. GMN-5 didn't understand why everyone one was taking sides with GMN-1. She didn't have any right to boss them around. She was going to show them that she can handle things on her own just fine. She'd learn to shoot and learn to shoot better than the rest of them especially GMN 1 and 4.
