Soon, as more and more students arrived, they began to marvel at Xuan's paintings and the seats beside her and ahead of her immediately got filled.
People were flocking around Xuan and her seat, admiring the many paintings some of the students had taken the liberty of showing.
Amidst all this commotion, Ying Xuan caught sight of a person with black wavy hair and wearing a tank t-shirt.
Xuan excused herself as she got up from her seat.
After she had squeezed through the crowd, Ying Xuan could clearly see the person. He had taken a seat on the first row closest to the door, and farthest from Xuan's own seat.
The classroom was almost filled by this time and the teacher was cleaning the board, which meant that the class would begin any moment now.
As Ying Xuan walked over to Wei Jingyu, many of the students began to gossip.
A girl said, "Look at her, going for young master Wei right of the bat."
A boy spoke, "She's so beautiful. It would really be a waste if she eneded up with anyone other than young master Wei."
A third girl spoke, "Hmf. Beauty isn't everything. People should not be cocky. Who is she anyway?"
The first girl spoke, "She looks foreign. Look at her skin! Thr colour is so pretty!!!"
Ying Xuan thought, "He sure is popular. It's just the first day and girls are already fawning over him." Though the Ying family was powerful and Ying Xi and Xuan were known to the teachers and the faculty, their father liked to keep a low-profile. So, it was natural that many people had just heard about the Ying twins but no one had really seen them, as Mr. Ying had never let his daughters have too much exposure.
The students continued to gossip as Xuan reached Wei Jingyu's table. He was sprawled on the desk, hands under his head. Jingyu's black hair were falling on the desk as his head was turned towards the wall. Ying Xuan had to admit that he really was handsome as she tapped his shoulder.
Wei Jingyu looked up, his face full of annoyance. But when he saw Ying Xuan, his expression turned into one of smugness and arrogance.
Ying Xuan could easily tell what he was thinking. She rolled her eyes as he said, "What? Here to apologise?"
Ying Xuan scoffed as she took out her phone and typed, then thrust it towards Wei Jingyu.
Wei Jingyu looked at the phone and his face became dark. Xuan had written, "Your arrogance seems to be rising by the second. Just opposite to your IQ."
Wei Jingyu spat out, "What do you want?"
Ying Xuan typed again and showed it to him, "I think you took my Chinese literature book. I need it back."
Wei Jingyu humped as he opened his bag and went through it. Soon, he found Xuan's book and tossed it to her.
He used force a bit more than necessary, subconsciously hoping that Ying Xuan would complain on being unable to catch it.
But Ying Xuan caught her book in one swift motion with one hand, and without even sparing another glance at Jingyu, turned around to go back to her seat.
Wei Jingyu was left in his seat, feeling utterly frustrated, though he did not know why.
