Happiest person on earth

After a lot of staring, Su Shaoyan said, word for word, "So, you guys don't mind that I'm gay?"

Shi Weiwei rolled her eyes, "I'm really sorry but I'm not used to making friends by their sexual orientation."

Ying Xuan smiled. Su Shaoyan still looked doubtful.

Ying Xuan sighed, typed something on her phone and thrust it under Shaoyan's nose.

It read, 'Look, it is surprising that you are gay. But I don't see why it should matter. We are living in the twenty-first century. Except for the fact that you won't be hitting on us, which is rather great. And if Lu Zuan acted that way only for this reason, she really needs to get her head out of the dinosaur age.'

Su Shaoyan looked up from Xuan's mobile, still shocked. Ying Xuan snatched the phone once again, typed another message and gave it to Shaoyan, 'Now if you are done gaping like a fish, I would like to get my arm seen to. It's starting to hurt.'

Su Shaoyan's trance seem to be broken. He looked at the two once more before starting to walk.

As they followed, he stopped after a minute and turned around, "You guys really don't have any problem making friends with me?"

Ying Xuan slapped her forehead but Shi Weiwei said, "I actually kind of do."

Su Shaoyan looked resigned and Ying Xuan surprised. Weiwei said, "If you want to be friends, you have got to learn sign language. This typing on the phone takes too much time."

Ying Xuan laughed and Su Shaoyan also smiled. He turned around and started walking, saying, "Come on. To the infirmary."

His voice shook a little and Ying Xuan was sure she saw the glitter of a tear, but she decided not to comment as the three walked towards the infirmary.

A month had passed since Su Shaoyan's big revelation. Ying Xuan had nicely settled in the college and loved studying there.

Though the whole college now knew about her family, Ying Xi had made sure of that, but it hardly made a difference to Xuan. Maybe she was getting a little more stares than usual, but Xuan did not mind as long as she had her friends by her side.

Her only regret was having to live with Xi. Though she was rarely in the room, always out partying and coming back really late, sometimes not at all, but Ying Xuan still wanted to live with Weiwei.

The two sisters had steadily grown apart, and their little sarcastic interactions had only reduced to vile comments with an evil look by Ying Xi and not waiting for Xuan's response.

On the bright side, Shi Weiwei and Su Shaoyan had both learnt enough sign language to let them have a conversation with Xuan without her having to take out a sheet of paper.

Lu Zuan had also started hanging out with them, but only after several persuasions by Ying Xuan, several offers to leave the group by Su Shaoyan, and a break-down by Shi Weiwei.

All in all, Ying Xuan felt like this was the happiest time of her life and wished that it could last forever.
