Wei Jingyu took the ball, looked around at all the expectant faces, sighed and took aim, "Might as well start practicing, if I want to do this is this life." He mumbled as he shot the ball.
The ball went right above the basket and above the board behind the basket.
Wei Jingyu turned to look at his audience.
The girls watching seemed dejected, the boys had various mixes of relief, jealousy and surprise, and Ying Xuan was.....
Wei Jingyu's mind went blank and he forgot to breathe as he stared at Ying Xuan, who was trying very hard to suppress bursting into laughter.
Her lips were pressed together and chin was down as she looked at Wei Jingyu with very amused eyes. As the two stared at each other, a slight chuckle escaped Xuan's lips and Jingyu gave her such a dorky smile that Ying Xuan full on burst out laughing.
It was a silent laugh with no sound. But the way Ying Xuan laughed, clutching her stomach and tears forming at the end of her eyes, her whole face lighting up like the mid-summer sun, Wei Jingyu felt his whole life light up.
He had never before seen Xuan really crack up. She rarely did, so this sight of Ying Xuan laughing so hard that she was even gasping for breath left him breathless.
Ying Xuan calmed down after a while and saw Wei Jingyu and everyone else staring at her.
She immediately felt guilty. She might make fun of Jingyu in private, but laughing at him in front of all these people was not nice.
Little did she know that the reason everyone was staring at her was because of how beautiful she had looked while laughing.
Xuan walked over and tapped Jingyu's shoulder.
His trance was broken and he looked around, surprised. Finally, Jingyu caught himself and laughed, scratching his head, "Guess that's gonna take some more practice, huh?"
Ying Xuan then headed for the library, Shi Weiwei had said she was there, and Wei Jingyu tagged along.
As she entered, Ying Xuan scanned the reading area for Shi Weiwei and frowned when she did not find her. Wei Jingyu tapped her shoulder and pointed to a corner table.
But when Xuan looked, all she saw was a big pile of books on it. She then frowned and looked closely, and, sure enough, a pair of legs were protuding from under the table.
They walked over and saw Shi Weiwei buried under books and writing material, she was bent over something and her hair was very ruffled, looking almost like a bird's nest.
While they watched, Shi Weiwei groaned in frustration, crumpled the paper over which she was writhing, threw it somewhere and slumped on her seat.
Ying Xuan walked over and asked, 'What's wrong?'
Shi Weiwei looked at Xuan and Jingyu with a tired expression, "Oh. It's you guys."
Wei Jingyu picked up the paper and unfolded it, saying, "What were you writing?"
Weiwei hurriedly snatched the paper from him and hid it. She hated anyone reading her work, specially the ones she was not herself satisfied with.
Weiwei mumbled as she cleared some space for the two to sit, "Nothing much. Just a project."
