Make a wish

'Xuan? Where are you? It's almost midnight.' Weiwei texted.

Xuan replied after a few seconds, 'You go ahead. I'll catch up at his room.'

Shi Weiwei: 'What are you doing?'

Ying Xuan: '.....'

Seeing that she would get no reply, Shi Weiwei sighed and walked to the boys' dorms. She went in Shaoyan's room and his roommate opened the door.

"Hii. Shi Weiwei right? Come on in." he led Shi Weiwei in and she saw Su Shaoyan sitting with his phone in the bed.

"What are you doing?" Weiwei asked.

Su Shaoyan looked up, "Huh? I'm ordering a cake."

Shi Weiwei sat beside him, "I thought Jingyu's friends were bringing the cake?"

Su Shaoyan said as he got up and looked at himself in a mirror, "They are. We're getting two cakes. One for eating, and the other for massaging Jingyu's face with. Anyway, where's Xuan?"

Shi Weiwei shrugged, "God knows. She said she would catch up."

"Oh." Su Shaoyan replied as the two headed out.

It was only a few minutes to midnight when Shi Weiwei and Su Shaoyan walked in Wei Jingyu's room with a cake in hand.

Jingyu greeted them, shaking Shaoyan's hand and hugging Weiwei.

He looked past them as they entered and disappointment flickered in his face.

"Xuan said she had something to do. But she'll be here." Weiwei whispered and Wei Jingyu nodded. Ying Xuan had specifically asked Shi Weiwei not to tell anything about what she was doing to Wei Jingyu.

Everyone greeted each other and enjoyed the food the boys had bought.

As midnight ticked closer, Wei Jingyu's face continued to fall and Shi Weiwei contemplated telling him what she thought Xuan was doing.

At this moment, a voice asked from behind her, "Where's your model friend has got to?"

Shi Weiwei turned to see Mo Kio standing behind her. "I don't know. She had something to do. But she said she'll be here." Shi Weiwei said.

Mo Kio shook his fists, "I swear if she skips on Jingyu's birthday, I'm..... I'm...."

His voice trailed off as Weiwei smiled, "You cannot do anything to her."

"Yeah. Cause then Jingyu will kill me." Kio sighed.

"Not to mention you and Xuan will probably beat each other to death." Shi Weiwei chuckled.

At this point, someone started the countdown. It was just fifteen seconds to midnight.

Everyone counted off and there was a great cheer as all of them wished Wei Jingyu together as soon as it struck midnight.

Jingyu seemed to be forcing a smile as he thanked everyone and the cake was pushed in front of him.

"Blow out the candles." a boy said.

"Make a wish!!!" Shi Weiwei exclaimed.

"Huh?" Wei Jingyu looked up, surprised.

Shi Weiwei waved her hands, "It's said in foreign countries that if you make a wish on your birthday, it's bound to come true."

Mo Kio scoffed, "Our young prince has nothing he wishes for."

That was not true. Wei Jingyu thought to himself as he murmured, "I wish Xuan was here right now." His voice was so low that nobody caught it and he blew the candles.

Wei Jingyu looked hopefully at the door for a few seconds before he cut the cake and all the boys began smearing his face with it.

Shi Weiwei, standing in a corner, quietly texted Ying Xuan. Upon getting no reply, she was angry and called her. What the hell was this girl doing.
