Where Lu Zuan's gown could easily be compared to a dress, Xuan's was most definitely a proper gown, with a lot of layers.
The first layer was a lined and showed off her waist perfectly, over it was a ballooned layer of a lighter material, giving the look of a ballgown, and lastly was the frilled layer, of pure net.
The whole gown was yellow, with small royal blue flowers embroidered on it. The flowers were all over the upper part of the gown, turning into vines lower on. Ying Xuan was also wearing a corset of yellow roses and blue lilies. On her hands were delicate gloves made from royal blue net.
The dress was definitely heavenly, but the person wearing it looked like she was not of this world. Xuan had on beautiful nude makeup on her Ash coloured skin. She had on light red lipstick, perfectly contrasting with her skin, and yellow eyeshadow, matching her gown.
Ying Xuan's mud coloured hair were curled beautifully and done in a complicated updo that looked to be straight out of the eighteenth century.
But Wei Jingyu didn't notice all of this until much, much later. Right now, his mind was short circuiting as he tried to believe that the beautiful woman standing in front of him was real, and more unbelievable, was his.
His eyes roamed over her face and her body, but Jingyu's mind wasn't able to register anything.
He just stood there, looking straight at Xuan, and gaping like an idiot.
His brain was again put into motion by Ying Xuan giving a smile and starting to walk in his direction. Wei Jingyu's mind screamed at him to do anything, at least close his mouth or stop staring like an idiot, but his body seemed to be unable to comply.
Jingyu felt heat radiating from his cheeks and his ears, knew he was blushing like crazy, but didn't care. All he wanted at that moment was time to freeze.
His body finally started working again when Ying Xuan stopped in front of him and signed, 'How do I look?'
Wei Jingyu let out a breath he had been holding for God knew how long. As he took a long breath, Jingyu tried to tell Xuan how breathtaking she looked, how he wanted to worship the ground she walked on, and how much it hurt his eyes to look at her beauty, but nothing would come out.
So he stood there, gaping like an idiot, while Su Shaoyan piled her with compliments and Lu Zuan added on things she had already said in the dressing room.
Ying Xuan had been showered with compliments, awed and jealous looks since she stepped out of the dressing room. No, ever since she had started getting ready, the compliments had never stopped.
She had been stopped by some of her classmates who wanted to swoon over her dress and tell her how amazing she looked. Xuan was sure someone had used the phrase, "A princess straight out of classic literature." She had been relieved upon hearing that, knowing people would realise she and Jingyu were dressed as a couple from eighteenth century, and not wearing clown outfits.
As she smiled to herself thinking that, Ying Xuan looked around and was very surprised to not see Lu Zuan.
