Shining bright

"You're just being paranoid." Yin Shao said. Shi Weiwei shook her head and continued to be very stressed, but contrary to her expectations, nothing went wrong.

Xuan posed as she came to the front of the ramp with Jingyu. She smiled and winked as Wei Jingyu waved, before the two of them turned back and swaggered backstage. As soon as they were behind the curtains, Ying Xuan was surrounded by her classmates and friends, praising her costume and even her walk now.

Wei Jingyu smiled as he stood in a corner, letting Xuan have her moment. He absolutely loved how hardly any of the fashion kids seemed to remember the fact that they were talking to 'The Ying Xuan' right now. And how Xuan seemed to have completely forgotten her disability with them now, when compared to how conscious she used to be of it before.

"It's almost blinding to look at her, she shines so bright." A voice brought Jingyu out of his thoughts and he turned his head to find Lu Zuan standing beside him. He let out a small smile and turned back to look at Xuan.

Just as Zuan thought she was getting no more response from him and was about to walk away, Wei Jingyu said in a small voice, "You all do Zuan. All of you. You, Weiwei, and even Shaoyan." Lu Zuan turned to face Jingyu, stunned by surprise. Was the grumpy, brooding prince actually praising anyone other than his sunshine princess?

"You all shine Zuan. When you get lost in the things you love. When Weiwei is pondering over a character or telling us what emotion she wants us to portray. When Shaoyan is analyzing outfits in a fashion magazine or sketching some random idea that came into his mind. And you, when you are pouring over your books, brows furrowed with concentration or when you are trying to act like all of ours' unpaid therapist. You all shine so bright that it hurts the eyes of everyone around you." Wei Jingyu finished and hung his head, seeming to be deep in thought.

It took Lu Zuan a few moments to process his words. If someone had told Zuan a couple of months ago that she would find the rude, arrogant prince of the Wei family praising a nobody from a small town, the misfit Su Shaoyan, and her, the person whose guts Jingyu had always hated, she would have told them they needed a mental hospital. But who knew, the thing she hadn't thought in her wildest fantasies was actually coming true.

Zuan pulled herself out of her thoughts and said with a smile, "Did I seriously hear you praising me, Mr. Wei?"

Jingyu shook his head and rolled his eyes as a small smile formed on lips, "Don't take it to the heart." Lu Zuan chuckled upon hearing this and decided to change the topic. "Hey listen Jingyu." she said.

Wei Jingyu, who had been looking at Ying Xuan all this while, turned his head to look at Zuan upon hearing the hesitance in her voice. "Umm . . . . if I ask you a question, will you tell me the truth?" she asked, sounding very sheepish, not at all like the Zuan that Jingyu lilked to butt heads with.

"What's wrong Zuan?" Wei Jingyu was instantly worried.

Zuan shook her head. "Nothing's wrong. . . . It's just . . . . " she looked around, trying to avooide Jingyu's eyes.
