Chapter 31; Enthusiatic learner.

CHAPTER 31- ENTHUSIASTIC LEARNER

-Next morning-

Ma Roo woke up before Rin since she slept late yesterday reading books, "Who, I am so late" He grabbed a sandwich and a packet of milk. He ate so fast while he checked through his answer sheet at the same time. He had a learnt a big lesson from yesterday. He finished in not more than three minutes. He grabbed his bag and ran out fast to try save up more time. Rin woke up from hearing Ma Roo bang the door in hurry. "I didn't even get to say goodbye to Rin properly." Ma Roo said as he ran down the stairs since the elevator would be a bit late. "Bye, Ma Roo! Come back early today!" Ma Roo heard Rin's voice in his head.

"Oh my God! I am dreaming in broad daylight." Ma Roo thought he was going crazy. "Hey, you not dreaming, it's me!" Rin chuckled. "OMG! It's really you in my head! We'll talk about this when in get back. Bye, see you later. Get out of my head!" Ma Roo was worried she'd read his thoughts. Rin smiled and held her white and black blanket more tightly. "Another day has yet come again. What does it hold?" Rin murmured to herself and then got out of the bed.

After a few hours, Rin had finished reading her last book. So she gathered them all and decide to go get a few others from the library. She got the white mink jacket Saet Byul's father had given her. She added on a white scarf, zebra print pants with black boots. She liked wearing black and white most though she had other colours in her closet but had barely worn them or never. She walked out holding the pile of books in her chest. "I wonder what I'll learn about today." She murmured to herself. "What an enthusiastic learner!" Someone told her from behind. "Oh, it's you!" Rin smiled after she looked back and saw who had told her. It was the same lady from before, Hong Ga Ya. "Thanks for saving me to go apartment on apartment looking for you!" She seemed to have be going for her.

"Wait?! Did you want to meet me?" Rin thought it was a coincidence. "Did you forget that I promised you that I'd come look for you. You needed practice." She crossed her hands in her chest as she said to her. "Oh! I had almost forgot." Rin remembered. "I'm sorry that am quite rushing but if it's not too much, come live at mine." Mrs. Ga Ya offered. "I'm sorry but I can't. Ma Roo would be worried if I went right away." Rin rejected the offer. "I did not say you can come and live there right away or stay there forever. It's just till you learn everything." Mrs. Ga Ya said.

"Oh, then I'll first think about it and ask Ma Roo about it." Rin said. "This is my address, if you change your mind." Mrs. Hong took out a pen from her bag and wrote it down in Rin's palm and then left quickly after that. Rin continued and went on to her way to the library. "Whew! Finally, am here! I' e to hurry so that I don't go back when it's dark." She murmured and looked for where to sit. She finally got an empty table in the corner.

After a few hours, students had come back from school and started to come to the library. "She's back. I told you we'd be lucky." A bunch of boys who were wearing school uniform were whispering to each other. They pretended to be looking for books but were secretly glancing at Rin. Rin had noticed them already. Finally, they picked a few random books and went and sat where Rin was seated. "Hi!" Rin greeted them and went back to reading her novel. The boys wanted to argue that but just pinched each other from under the table.

"Hi!" They all said blushing. Rin just smiled and said nothing else. "Can I know your name?" One said bravely. "Kim Hye Rin." Rin said with her eyes stuck on the book's pages. "Wow, your name is pretty." They five boys complimented. Rin wasn't much of a talker just like Ma Roo, so she just smiled. She had finished reading the last page. She took out her new phone and looked at the time. It was just a half to 5. She was remaining with two books. She carried the ones she had not finished to go check them out. "You two, your books are upside down." Rin told the boys who were pretending to be reading and then walked away leaving them in embarrassment. "At least we still got to sit next to her for a few minutes and most importantly we got her name." Their eyes were still following her though they were not.

"I hope Ma Roo is now back." Rin said as she walked while reading. "Speaking of the devil." Ma Roo said and snatched the book from her. He was walking with the class president who we still don't know her name and saw Rin. He ran to go surprise her. "Wow Ma Roo! You are here already." Rin was surprised that she was caught off guard. Purple specs who was across the road crossed and came where Ma Roo was with Rin. "Hi, you must be Ma Roo's sister." She assumed. "No!" Rin said. "Oh, where are my manners? This is Rin and Rin this is…" Ma Roo then got stuck when he got to know that he didn't know his seatmate's name. "I am Lee Ma Ri." She was disappointed that Ma Roo didn't know her name.

"I am sorry but I'll have to stop here today." Ma Roo apologised and grabbed Rin hand. "Oh, it's okay. My home is near now. Thanks for everything anyway." Ma Ri forced on a smile pretending that it was okay. "Bye! See you at school." Ma Roo said. "Bye!" Rin too said. She crossed the road with her head down in disappointment. Ma Roo and Rin also walked to go home. "Ma Roo! I have something to tell you." Rin told Ma Roo. "What is it?" Ma Roo asked. "It's that I met this lady called Hong Ga Ya. She's also a mermaid but promised to teach me mermaid ways of being on land. I didn't want to go without telling you." Rin said looking at Ma Roo's face to see his reaction. Ma Roo then asked her after a few seconds' silence, "Then why don't you go if it's teaching you what you don't know. I thought you were always ready to learn?" He said with a smile. "The thing is that she told me to live at her place till I learn everything." Rin said. When Ma Roo heard this, his expression fell drastically. Was it because he didn't want her to live?
