Chapter 7 (Ab)Normal Life

"Guys I'm back!".

Chen Fei opened the door to his dormitory room, calling out to his other three roommates from the entrance. Taking off his shoes and slipping into his slippers the fifteen year old walked towards his shared living room letting out a deep sigh when he saw what was going on in front of him.

"First Blood!".

"Triple Kill!".

"You win!".

The sounds of three teenage boys playing a first person shooter on three different screens caused Chen Fei to internally sigh before rubbing his temples. Considering that he was still only fifteen years old, he hadn't completed the mandatory schooling that every growing young man and woman must complete.

Like most kids his age, he went to get tested at Water Moon City's Holy Fossil Consortium in order to see whether he had the potential to become a Human Knight or a Fossil Knight. However, unlike the hundreds of thousands of kids within Water Moon City, he was the only one within a decade to possess the potential to become a Fossil Knight.

He didn't expect that at all. At the very least, he hoped he had the potential to become a Human Knight in order to cultivate and become rich and famous while plotting how to dominate the entire world. But as a Fossil Knight, things would be much easier.

"Oh!? Brother Fei! You're back already! So? How badly did it go? Did you get rejected just like Skinny P and I?".

The teenage boy sitting in the centre of the three turned around and greeted Chen Fei. A mockingly sad expression that Chen Fei knew was just banter marred his face, and the braces in between his teeth were the most notable part of his looks. He was not the best looking to say the least.

Another one of the boys turned around, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head. This young man, unfortunately, like many teenagers his age, was plagued by acne and small scars from the were left behind after they were gotten rid of. His nice hair and rather muscular physique did nothing to attract others from looking at him though. Neither this young man was the best looking, to say the least.

Chen Fei just smiled before rolling his eyes.

"Well, when I got there they told me a whole bunch of stuff about being a Knight and how everything worked and stuff like that, then gave me this fancy looking wristband and a fancy looking Cultivation Method. Pretty cool huh?".

Skinny P and Ida just laughed out loud for a second, completely missing the meaning behind Chen Fei's words. They laughed and giggled with each other for a few seconds, before going completely silent with wide eyes and dropped jaws.

Both of them blinked and rubbed their eyes as they gazed at the Holy Library on Chen Fei's wrist. They both even pinched each other to make sure they weren't dreaming.

"No f*cking way!".

"You're taking the piss Brother Fei, the chances of being a Knight is one in ten thousand, are you telling me that-".

Chen Fei smiled and nodded giving his two roommates a wink.

"Yep. Registered with the Holy Fossil Consortium and everything. I don't have access to everything since I'm not yet a Copper Human Knight but-".

Chen Fei stopped his words when Skinny P and Ida came charging at their third youngest housemate lifting him up into the air while shouting.

"Ah-ha~! With Brother Fei's inevitable rise to become a Human Knight, we, the members of Room 609 will ride on his coatails all the way to the top!".

"Our lives will no longer be devoid of nubile young women or enormous amounts of cash and glory! Glory be to Brother Fei!".

"Glory be to Brother Fei!".

"Glory be to Brother Fei!".

Chen Fei smiled before letting out another sigh. Turning towards the youngest member of Room 609 the handsome young man still sitting in his seat, devoid of any expression with the exception of a small smile, gave a small nod before speaking.

"Congradulations Brother Fei. I speak for the sanity in this dorm room, but I hope that becoming a Knight will not lead you to an early grave".

Chen Fei nodded at Roland's words.

The youngest, but most handsome member of room 609 was someone that even Chen Fei was envious of. Possessing a keen intellect that placed him at the top of the year level, a near perfect physique that every guy was envious of and a gentlemanly personality and calm attitude that wooed all the girls and even some guys.

Roland despite being Chen Fei's junior, was someone that he looked up to somewhat.

Roland was stern in his approach to life, but never disregarded others for the sake of the majority. He was fair, but always ready to dish out punishments left, right and center when people broke the rules.

And keeping people like Skinny P and Ida in line took some serious f*cking patience. Chen Fei might've smothered them in their sleep if it wasn't for Roland to keep the two of them out of trouble.

"I don't plan on dying before at least seeing the day when Skinny P or Ida get a girl. Unfortunately, that day will never come so I guess I'll be waiting for eternity-. Ow! Stop f*cking biting me!".

The male dorm never had a dull moment going on within it, and despite some rivalries or some disagreements between residences, people knew better than to take their grievances home with them.

Considering that all the males in Water Moon College either lived in the City itself or in the dorms, everyone knew each other, regardless of age or colour or culture. Since 90% of the student population were boarders, every single one of them possessed phones and devices to communicate with their parents or relatives living in other parts of the Heavenly Rain Kingdom.

And even with the rise of spiritual essence in the natural world, technology and social media would always find a way to catch up, no matter what the circumstance.

"Holy sh*t! Guys come look at this! Skinny P from room 609 just posted something crazy man!".

"The f*ck are you talking about dude! Roland lives in 609, do you think he'll just let Percival do whatever he wants?".

"Nah, its nothing like that man! Just come, take a look!".

"..... Motherf*cker! Is this for real! Did Chen Fei really become a Knight!?".

"I don't know man, but look at this! That's a Holy Library, my brother's, girlfriends, uncles, cousins, grandfathers, young sisters grand-daughter become a Human Knight and she had that exact thing on her wrist! I'm not joking!".

"So..... Chen Fei really did become a Knight?".

Within a few hours almost all of the population at Water Moon College knew about Chen Fei and his status as a Knight. Most didn't know about the stages or processes to become a Knight, and assumed that he had already become one since he was in possession of a Holy Library.

Countless rumors and gossip emerged from Percival's single online post and the vast majority of Water Moon College's population were happy or joyous about knowing or being friends with a Knight.

Of course, some people were jealous, obviously wishing that they were the ones that had become a Knight rather than Chen Fei, however, those people mostly reserved their thoughts and didn't post on social media.

Knights were both a symbol of power and protection in modern society. The protected the various nations and kingdoms from the waves of mutated monsters and demonic beasts that tried to invade from all over the world.

They were humans that possessed immense strength and could perform things that most people could only describe as magic or witchcraft. Since the Three Big Ones limited the amount of information to the public, the general public could only speculate the abilities of Knights and how they used said abilities.

Within just three hours of posting said event, Chen Fei had gotten over several thousand friend requests and hundreds of messages about how to become a Knight or Cultivation Methods or sponsorship in videos and all this other crap.

He rubbed his temples trying to ease the headache he has currently facing. Glancing upward he could see the culprit behind said headache, who took a step back under Chen Fei's deathly stare.

"Um..... oops?".
