Eating a Demonic Beast

Inside the territory of the Demonic Black Bears in the Dark Forest, a young man could be seen sitting near a campfire in the middle of a large cave.

This young man was obviously Li Jing.

After storing the variant Demonic Beast in his spatial ring, he finally decided to search the bodies of the three men. He didn't like it, but to get stronger he needed all the resources he could find.

Unfortunately, they had nothing interesting on them. About forty Spirit Stones, a dozen Qi Gathering Pills, five Demonic Cores, two weapons but they were normal weapons and not Spiritual weapons, and they didn't even have any spatial ring…

Finally, after looking for almost an hour, he found a secluded cave hidden by many bushes and trees.

Li Jing looked at the campfire next to him and smiled. Creating this campfire has been easy for him, he just needed to use his Lightning Qi on some piece of dry wood to ignite them. He had no survival experience in the wild so he was really happy to have this ability.

Now that he was in a safe place, he decided that it was time to cook and eat the variant Demonic Beast. Then, he will cultivate the whole night and continue his exploration of the forest in the morning.

Li Jing took out the large body of the bear from his spatial ring and placed it at the back of the cave. Then, he used his perk Appraisal on it.

(*Author's note: 1 kilogram = 2.2 pounds)

Seeing the effect, Li Jing grinned. The gain in experience and strength was really high since the whole beast probably weighed more than 1000 kg.

A variant Demonic Beast was so rare that even the best restaurant in the powerful Heavenly Jewel Empire hardly ever offered it on its menu. When it was the case, the demand was so high, that they were forced to limit to 1kg of meat per person!

Li Jing was probably one of the only people in this world who could eat the whole body of a variant Demonic Beast. Of course, he will never be able to eat 1000 kg of meat in one go. It will take him a few days or weeks to finish it all.

Li Jing took out one of his daggers and look intently at the carcass in front of him. There were a lot of steps before he could cook it.

The first step was to skin the bear. Although he never did that for real in his previous life, he had played Red Dead Redemption 2 for a few hundreds of hours, so he more or less knew what to do.

The fur of the beast was very thick and sturdy but Li Jing had a lot of strength and with the help of his Sky-grade dagger, he had no difficulty to cut through it.

Little by little, Li Jing removed the skin from the bear and after a few minutes, he successfully removed it all.

Li Jing stored the beautiful sky blue fur of the variant Demonic Beast inside his spatial ring and prepared for the next step.

The second step was to gut the bear. Li Jing opened the chest of the beast and first extract its Demonic Core before removing its intestines and other internal organs. It was really disgusting, it stank, and there was a lot of blood!

A few minutes later, Li Jing sighed in relief. The beast was finally clean.

Next, he cut the head and paws of the bear and stored them in his spatial ring. The claws and fangs of a variant Demonic Beast could be sold for a lot of Spirit Stones to a blacksmith.

Li Jing decided to eat one of the thighs of the bear. He cut it and stored the rest of the beast. Fortunately, food didn't rot inside the dimension of the ring.

The thigh of the bear was very large and easily weighed 35 kg. It looked like he will have to eat a lot tonight. Thirty-five kilograms of meat was far too much for a normal man, but Li Jing was a cultivator so his body constitution was far higher than normal. Eating the whole thigh will therefore not be a problem for him.

Li Jing stabbed the thigh with his dagger and placed it next to the fire. He waited for around an hour before it was finally cooked.

He excitedly took a bite of the juicy hot meat, wondering if it would taste good.

It was bland… Too bad he had no seasoning.

'Where is the lamb sauce?' He thought, thinking about a famous cook on Earth.

It took him a little less than an hour to finish eating the whole piece of meat.

Li Jing lied down on the cold hard ground of the cave for a moment, feeling full. Then, he displayed his status screen to see his progress.

By eating the thigh of the variant Demonic Beast, his Strength increased by 35 Jin and his Experience Points by 700!

He decided that for now, he will accumulate Experience Points and only spend them at the end of the week. He still hesitated between increasing his cultivation realm and buying Rare Lottery Tickets.

Next, he counted the number of Demonic Cores he had. A Demonic Core looked like a glowing black pearl, the size of a golf ball. If a cultivator injected their Qi inside a core, they could determine what breed of Demonic Beast it belonged to as well as its level.

Li Jing currently had 19 Demonic Cores in his spatial ring.

"Only 481 Demonic Cores to collect before I can evolve my bloodline!" He motivated himself.

It was a lot but he knew that once he will enter the territory of the Four-eyed Jade Monkeys, he would be able to kill hundreds of them every day.

Li Jing changed his clothes, his previous ones were covered with blood and stank. Then, he sat up cross-legged and started cultivating.

He had only six days left before he had to go home.
