As Heidi hurried to the palace gardens with her physically tiny legs in search of Princess Kaira, she thought, "I must hurry... I need to use my time wisely if I want to build trust between them."
She stopped to see that a white and fluffy animal was blocking her way.
Heidi thought, "Oh my! Is that the palace dog?"
The dog came pouncing on Heidi and took her journal away. As Heidi chased after it, the dog rested near a body; she discovered a figure on the grass.
She was horrified as she thought, "Oh god! A corpse on the yard?!"
After a careful glance, Heidi thought, "No, it appears that the girl is just sleeping." She then snatched her journal from the dog's mouth and opened it to Kaira's information page.
*IN HEIDI'S JOURNAL*
The second Princess, Kaira Von Vermillion, 17 years old. A girl of few words who rarely makes public appearances. After a violent episode at the etiquette academy, she was suspended and is remarkably famous for her violent temper. Generally known as "The Scowling Princess."

After Heidi read her journal, she thought, "I've found Princess Kaira. She's the most dangerous of the Vermillion Princesses. Although, her portrait clearly doesn't display the palace dog, but a random cat instead. I wonder why the painter did that. Anyhoo, those eyes glared at me just a while ago, like she harbored some hostility. As memory serves, she told me to get lost. Now, how should I handle the glaring Princess?"
At that moment, Princess Kaira's eyes opened, and she lifted up the Professor by her hand with a jolt. The Professor was hanging in thin air. Her eyes were firmly shut; wondering what she would do to harm her.
Surprisingly, Kaira was squishing her hand. After her eyes started to focus from a blurry vision, she said expressionlessly, "Sorry, I thought you were someone else." She then went over to the white-furred dog and started squishing its paw.
Heidi thought, "Did the Princess mistaken me for a dog?"
Kaira sized Heidi up and down with her naturally narrowed eyes and said, "You're new, Professor."
Heidi thought, "So the Princess already considers me as her Professor? Maybe I needn't be as much cautious as I initially thought."
Professor Heidi politely asked, "Good Afternoon, Princess. Did you enjoy your nap?"
Kaira nodded and said, "Yes. I really like it out here."
Professor Heidi responded, "It's peaceful, yes."
After conversing with her for a while, Heidi concluded that Kaira is a carefree individual and she wondered that from where did her ill reputation come.
As Heidi was analyzing her thoughts, she caught Kaira glaring at her.
However, Kaira merely asked, "Professor, you see that cloud? It looks like an apple to me, it's tasty, isn't it?"
Professor Heidi asked angrily, "Just now, were you glaring at me?!"
The Princess had a perplexed expression spread across her face.
Professor Heidi noticed her facial appearance and then proposed a theory, "It could be, Princess, that your eyes have a sharp look to them. It's a typical trait, but it's easy to get the wrong idea that you're glaring at them, no?"
Kaira replied, "Yes, all the time."
Heidi inquired, "I see, but why not assure them otherwise?"
Kaira answered, "I've looked like this ever since I was little, and I'm not very good at talking. When my facial features act on a first impression, it's like they say, that's that."
Professor Heidi's gaze landed on her hands to find Princess Kaiara petting them.
She asked, "By the way, Princess, is there a particular reason you're rubbing my hands?"
Kaira responded, "I'm overjoyed that we have a new teacher. Professor, I like you. You actually talked to me, it was kind. Most imperial mentors have merely ignored me, but you took the time to engage. It means a lot of me."
Kaira's gaze landed on a piece of paper protruding out of the Professor's journal. She asked, "Professor, that paper right there... is it a test that I have to take?"
Professor Heidi handed over the paper and politely requested, "Yes, will you please?"
As Kaira was writing the test, Heidi thought, "Seeing her like this, the Princess doesn't strike me as a type of person anyone should be afraid of."
Kaira completed the examination and spoke softly, "I- I hope we can get a-along."
Professor Heidi gasped and was shocked to hear this statement, she responded, "Yes, my Princess, I hope so too."
Kaira continued, "Thank you, Professor. From this day forward, my sisters and I; we're in your care."
Professor Heidi acknowledged, "And I in yours. Princess, please be at the reception all at 4 in the evening. I will only commence my lessons if all the four princesses are present and accounted for."
Kaira nodded and fell asleep in a few moments.
Heidi thought, "Princess Kaira is a gentle soul. She's kindhearted, mature, and easygoing; as expected from the second-eldest. I wrongly assumed that she would be the most trouble. Let this be a lesson to me; second-hand information can't be relied on. I must seek the answers and reach conclusions by myself. Therefore I must start again."
She thought the last statement while tearing off all the pages of her journal and throwing them away, and she watched at them as they flew away like the wind.
