The King and Queen summoned Prince Bruno and Princess Brunia to the study to discuss a delicate issue with them. The King affirmed, "Now that we're all here, I--"
The Queen interrupted him by rushing to Brunia and pulling her into a sudden tight embrace and screaming with tears in her eyes, "BRNUIA!!!!!! HOW COME YOU NEVER TOLD ME!!!!!!????"
Brunia said in suffocation, "M-M-Mother, I-I-I can't breathe!"
The Queen released her, composed herself and posed the question again, "How come you never told me that you and Bruno applied to study under Doctor Dmitria who is currently residing in Orosz along with Doctor Dmitri!?"
Brunia inquired in perplexion, "How come you're aware of that?!"
The King responded while trying not to lose his composure, "Your acceptance letters arrived at the mail this morning, prior to the introduction of the new royal guard."
Bruno concluded, "So you've summoned us here to instruct us that we aren't allowed to go for this exchange program?"
The King lost his dignity and started crying, "Bruno!? We're not stopping you from going! It hurts that you never told us! I thought that both of you loved your parents!"
Bruno and Brunia stared at each other as they were at a loss for words. All that they could say was, "This is weird."
The King and Queen wiped their tears and took their seats. The Queen stated, "We understand that you both have done this for bettering yourselves for the position of the royal throne for your respective kingdoms and thus, we support you in your decision. But with that said, it will be easier for Bruno to part from his brothers for a while as he has already done that before, however, Brunia might have a problem on that front. You must know that your sisters will be devastated about your depart so you must deliver the news gently."
Brunia agreed with the Queen, and the Prince and Princess left the room to deliver the news to their siblings. They both gathered their respective siblings in different locations to tell them about their depart. Prince Bruno's brothers were far more supportive than Princess Brunia's sisters, as the Queen speculated. The sisters and their imperial mentor were at the palace gardens when Brunia revealed the fact.
As a response, Leonora was shocked, and she screamed, "But you don't need to better yourself, dearest sister Brunia! You're already plenty amazing! You get perfect scores on your tests, and you're so smart, and you're so cool! You don't need to leave the palace!"
Brunia affirmed, "Mistress' and Master's lessons are precious and illuminating, of course. However, this won't do at all! If I remain complacent, I know that I will turn into a SACHERTORTE!!"
The three sisters and their imperial mentor asked, "Huh? Come again?"
Brunia elucidated, "Nothing brings me more joy than learning from Mistress and Master. But to indulge fully in that sweet pleasure, I would grow too soft and sugary like a SACHERTORTE! As long as they both are my only teachers, I would never be able to develop into a woman beyond their wildest expectations. Oh, the happiness and sorrow their teachings bring me... Damn this dilemma!"
Professor Heidi thought, "Well... this is some sort of a very tiresome dilemma."
Professor Heidi stepped up and spoke, "Well... a new opportunity to learn in an excellent probability. Given your academic ability, putting our lessons on hold to study abroad for a few months will not ruin your prospects."
Brunia snapped back and stated, "Oh no! I will be taking your recitations! It would be completely unacceptable to skip my Mistress' and Master's lessons!"
Professor Heidi thought, "Goodness gracious! I cannot have a break from her, can I?" She asked, "And how do you propose on doing that?"
Brunia answered, "I'm afraid that it might be inconvenient for the both of you, but I was hoping if you could instruct me via correspondence. I already have a plan right here on what we must cover-up for my recitations with you and the Master. As your apprentice, it was the least I could do. And yes, The King and Queen have granted Bruno and me their permission to go to Orosz."
She handed over the papers to the Professor, and as Heidi examined it, she thought, "My word! It sounds quite taxing to be my apprentice, though I don't know the criteria myself."
Licha asked, "Bruno is coming with you!? Oh my, I was going to object before, but since I know that my Brunie is with her love, I shall be fine!"
Leonora yelled, "Licha! What kind of a notion is that!? What about you, Kaira? You would hate if dearest sister Brunia left right?" Kaira nodded with approval while Leonora squealed with happiness, "I knew I could count on you!"
But Kaira stated, "Even though it would be a little lonely around here; but what Brunia wants comes first, so she has my blessing too."
Leonora yelled, "WHATT!!!???? Well, I don't like it! I don't want to part from my dearest sister, Brunia!"
Brunia responded, "I'm sorry, Leonora, but everything has been finalized, please don't try to stop me."
Leonora shouted while grabbing Brunia's shoulders, "OH NO, I WILL STOP YOU!!" And before Brunia could make any further movement, Leonora dangled on her sister, and said happily, "See? You can't go anywhere now, can you!? Hehe!!"
Professor Heidi thought, "Well... she indeed stopped her- physically!"
Brunia shrieked, "UGH! YOU BRAT! GET OFF MY SHOULDER!!! KAIRA HELP ME!!"
Kaira plucked her off Brunia's back and then released her when Leonora started crying! Kaira put her back on Brunia's posterior, saying, "I feel bad for Leonora."
Brunia yelled, "KAIRA!!! I FEEL BAD TOO YOU KNOW, PLEASE DON'T BABY HER!" She tried to shake her off but she couldn't as she was no match for Leonora's athletic prowess.
Licha reminded, "Leo, with this stamina I say that you can continue doing this forever. What are you planning to do during dinner, can you tell me?"
Leonora whimpered and gave Brunia the puppy dog eyes, " I-I didn't think about that, I haven't had my teatime torte yet."
Brunia felt terrible for her, so she procured a torte in her hand and fed her baby sister.
Professor Heidi thought, "Princess Brunia, you baby her yourself." Leonora was delighted that her dearest sister was feeding her after a long time.
As she was munching the delicious combination of cream and chocolate in her mouth, Brunia spoke, "I-I suppose I'm flattered that you would go to such lengths to keep me here, but that plans have already been finalized. At this rate, it isn't as though being without me would cause you any grief."
Leonora yelled, "THAT'S NOT TRUE! Father and Mother were always busy, but you were still there for me. You taught me even though I was dreadful at learning, and we would play all the time as young children. Not to forget, whenever I needed something, you would be the first person to fly by my side. I've always wished that I would be as amazing as you! I look up to you so much! I want that my dearest sister would always be by my side!" Brunia gasped with the realization of how much her little sister respected her and how that never went down, given her flaws. Whereas
Professor Heidi whispered into Licha's ear, inquiring, "How close were these two before I arrived here?"
Licha scoffed, "Way more than you can ever imagine! Given that even I'm her younger sister, Brunie always pampered Leo more than me and still favored her! Not that I care, but I am her baby sister too! Anyways, the news hasn't given me much of a shock, as I'm not going to miss her much anyway."
Professor Heidi thought, "Alright, never mind. I can see that you still care. Your thoughts might differ from Princess Brunia so you guys might not quickly get along. Nevertheless, I know that you still care about each other; that goes without saying."
After that brief interruption, Brunia responded, "Leonora, there are qualities that you have that I don't; and they amaze me too. You have the ability to create new ideas, unfettered by preconceptions or station. I believe that you possess the potential to surpass everyone's expectations at times. I'm incredibly envious of your natural talents."
Leonora gasped and countered, "No! Th-That can't be true!" Just then, then new palace guard Oliver was strolling by. He chose to hide behind a pillar and observe the conversation.
Brunia proceeded, "Perhaps it's petty jealousy on my part, but I don't wish to lose to either of you, my sisters. That is why I need to act on this opportunity. Leonora, won't you grant the sister you love, this selfish request?" Tears filled Leonora's eyes as a response, and she descended Brunia's back, thus relieving her.
She spoke with bowing her head before her elder sister, "I-I'm sorry, sister. I knew that attempting to stop you would put you in a challenging position, and yet I..."
Brunia patted on her shoulder and replied, "We still have one week before my departure. Let's fill it with our distinctive time together, like we used to. That way, we won't grow lonely while we're apart."
Oliver observed everything and thought, "Brunia is indeed a young woman of integrity; both as a Princess and a sister. I should expect nothing less from the one and only person who stole my heart." Soon enough, he walked away with a smile spread across his face.
Licha lost her composure and started weeping. Brunia observed her sister's reaction and walked over to her side. She patted her shoulder and asked, "So I should suffice from this that you're going to miss me as well?"
Licha screamed while wiping her tears, "NO! I won't; besides, with you not around I can have my way with Licht, my boyfriend, without you bugging me about my position as a royal."
Brunia smiled and responded, "Please, Licha, put down your act. I know that you and Licht are not together. And I'm not even going to ask you why you pretended to. But all I could conclude from that is; you're jealous that I baby Leonora more than you, right? I do not mind my baby sister asking for my attention, even though you're lewd acts really annoy me. But I promise that during this one week, I will take out time just for you as well, okay?"
Licha's eyes overflowed with tears, and she pulled Brunia into a warm embrace. Brunia pulled away and commented while giggling, "Wipe your tears now. You're not going to charm your boyfriend with that face!"
Leonora pouted and yelled, "Damn it, Licha! I want dearest sister's attention too!"
Brunia patted her head as well and spoke with her arm around her two younger sisters, "Don't worry, we all will spend time together as sisters. No boys; just us, girls!"
Kaira stepped forward and politely requested, "Brunia, I want a pat on my head too."
Brunia's eyes widened with surprise, and she asked, "Sister, I absolutely cannot comprehend why you would make such a demand! YOU'RE OLDER THAN ME!!"
Professor Heidi proposed, "As I'm older to you, I shall pat your head." Given that she was considerably shorter than Kaira, she jumped but could never reach her head. Licha burst into laughter, "HAHAHA!! SO MUCH FOR THAT, HEIDI DARLING!" And the day ended with a sisters' slumber party in Brunia's room with their imperial mentor.
