What will you do if the truth that you know is a lie? How will you cope if the person you love is forbidden? How will you accept if the person you trust is the devil? Merging Destinies

     Roger looked at the driver with elation. "Now things are getting easier" he said. The driver passed his wrist watch which has a tiny compass to the man and said "Well, please take care of it. It's a gift from my wife."


     "Ok" he replied and looked at the direction of the maid. "Lara, come here. We need to plan"


     Lara arranged the baby carrier attached across her body to join her comrades. "So, what should we do?" she asked while looking at the direction of Roger. 


     Roger started to explain his plan to them using the map that he drew, "We need to reach the other side of this forest where a village is located. Right now, we are 150 degrees southeast. If my estimation is right, the village should be 300 to 340 degrees northwest. But this estimation is too large and I cannot exactly pinpoint its location"


     "At least we now know which direction to go." Lara replied.


     When Roger was about to continue telling his plans, there was a sudden silence in the surroundings. "The rain has stopped" she commented. "Shhh" the men in the group simultaneously gestured for her to keep quiet.


     "They are here" Roger whispered. Lara trembled when she heard him and unconsciously hugged the baby in her bosom. 


     "The two of you must go" Roger said while passing the compass to the driver. He then shook the hand of the driver and continued "Follow the plan. I need to distract them. I will go to the opposite direction so that the both of you can escape"


     "I can help you. They are too many for you to handle" the driver argued.


     "No, you must protect them. Their safety is much more important. Brother Din, I leave them in your hands" he said while using his left hand to tap Din's shoulder while adding force to their handshake. He also passed a .45 caliber handgun and a jungle knife to him. "Take care" he said.


     Roger ran into the opposite direction and successfully caught the attention of the pursuers.


     "He will. He is the leader of the escort group, remember? He may not look like it but he is a Jack of all trades" Din assured.


     Lara blushed and quietly said in relief "That's good to know."


     Din saw the subtle comment of Lara and thought that Roger had successfully entranced the woman, however, it is not the time for jokes so he just said "Let's go" 


     Lara then quietly ran to the direction that they must go but Din looked at the direction where Roger went and whispered "I hope that you will survive, my good friend"


     After he whispered that sentence, he ran after Lara.
