I, Fiona, and Diana have arrived at Maramures, the village where we are going to spend our holidays because these holidays are better when you spend with your family, and I am lucky to spend with these girls I am working for. But I am quite scared to meet their parents because I heard some myths about them, but these girls told me their parents are like sheep, calm and not violent.
We are entering their property with our baggage and we are walking to the door of their house. Their house is big, it has two floors, if you can notice and also how tall is this house, compared to the others, it got some opens spaces where windows are installed during cold times, but just on the ground floor were windows installed and this is probably the fact that nobody lives or goes to the other 2 floors which seems reasonable and not a waste of money. A window costs a bit too much, but of course, some people can make windows by crafting them, or mages like me, cause we can create windows by using spells. I even got one who can make windows but it requires sand, which is a material I can easily obtain. Anyway, we were about to knock on the door, and then somebody opened the door to us, and he looks very happy.
"Fiona! Diana!" says the man who seems to be their father and he is looking quite fat, blad, and wearing only a dirty white shirt with a vest made by an animal skin, probably of a cow or a horse, he hugs those two girls and they are hugging him back but not strong because those two are demons in terms of strength. "I have missed you so much, girls!"
"We missed you, too, Dad!" says Diana who seems happy, but Fiona is somehow neutral.
"Oh, my girls. Look at how you have grown." says the father who is stopping hugging them and he looks at their appearance. "And... You Fiona. Good job in that war!"
"Thanks, Father," says Fiona. "But I wouldn't do much without someone's help." and she goes a few steps back to show me to his father, and when I was looking at him, I saw a bandage on his leg.
"Are you her squire?" asks Father who seemed quite disappointed because of my age and my height. "I thought you were a tall warrior and a muscular one."
"Dad," says Fiona. "We've talked about this. Judah, it is fine the way he is, and in fact, he can do magic."
"Magic? This little rascal?!" says the father smiling in a way some people are doing when someone told them that an otter from Brazil could kill an alligator and even a monkey. "Fiona... Little kids cannot do magic."
"Yes, I can, sir," I say to the man, who made him feel quite angry that I speak without permission and making the sisters feeling unexpected and also holding their laugh.
"If you can do some spells, then why are you not entering my home and do one here?" says the Father who is entering the house, and he is followed by Fiona and Diana.
"My pleasure." I say after I entered the house with my wand ready, and also my "Heal" spell prepared.
---
Their house was really impressive, it got a few bedrooms on those two floors, but the ground has one kitchen, the main bedroom, where probably the Father and Mother of this family are sleeping, and a room which are stored some valuable items such as food, and gold, in a big barrel. This house seems to be nice and comfortable for an old couple.
I did not have time to admire some portraits of this family, because the father was sitting at a table, and he is putting his leg on the table, he takes out the bandage from the wounded area he got probably when he was cutting logs or taking care of some shep. Then he looks at me and asks me.
"If you can heal this wound, then you are a true wizard."
This seems to be some kind of deja vu. Cause last time when I was healing somebody like this, who was having this look was Fiona when we have first met. And now, it is going to be his Father who will get healed.
I come closer to the father, I put my hand on the wounded area, and said the spell "Heal!". And then, in a few seconds, after I take my hand back, the wound has disappeared hand the leg of the father looks like new.
Their Father was shocked by this, and he looks curious at me. Then at Fiona and she asks her.
"This kid really can do magic?"
"Well, Judah. It is a special kid, Father," says Fiona smiling at him. "He healed me a lot of time, but sometimes I stop him to do not heal some memorable scars." and she shows with her big finger a scar at the neck, which made the father trying to hold his crying because that scar maybe might mean something important to this family. "And now, I want to ask you, Judah."
"What is it?"
"Where are you going to sleep tonight."
"Um... Where it is available?"
"There is one room on the second floor, reserved for the guests." says the Father who is taking a thing who I saw in the camp and some knights were calling cigarette, he puts it on his mouth and he proceeds to light it by using a small wooden part who is using sometimes to create a fire, and that I think it means match. "Your little rascal could take the room. But I have one warning for you."
"Sure. What is it?"
"Do not touch my girl's private area." says the Father in a terrifying way, which made the girls feel awkward, and I felt dumb because I was not even going to touch their body, like what does this man thinks I am, an animal?
---
Later this day, I was in the guest's room, and I was reading an old book from one of the shelves from this room, maybe was there for the guests to make them more entertained. Or to help them lose some time. The book had a nice way of writing, but it just doesn't seem like the ones I am reading mostly.
Then, someone was knocking on my door. When I heard the knock I answered.
"Come in?"
And Fiona and Diana Father opened the door, and entered the room, with an awkward smile while he was scratching his back of the head.
"I am sorry."
"For what?" I asked him.
"For saying that you were too little to be a magician and a squire."
"Don't worry about it. It happens almost every day."
"So... What I am here for... It is to ask you something, about a guy one of my dear daughter know."
"Yes. What is it?"
"Have you ever heard about Marcus?"
"Yes. I know a guy named Marcus who is a good friend of Fiona and we even went on a mission with him in Bulgaria."
"Hm... Do they had fun?" asks the Father of those daughters.
"We had. We hunt some monsters, catch some bandits, slept in a Tavern, and we even helped a city from a beginner wizard. Those two had quite a wild night if I am not wrong."
"What do you mean?"
"Well... How I can put this?... They were kissing just to get a discount on the rooms and they ended up sleeping in almost the same room."
"Oh. That's it?"
"Yeah."
"Well. Let me tell you something kid about Marcus." he is looking into my eyes with a serious face. "Do not stay on his way. Got it!"
"What do you mean by that?" I ask him because I do not understand the question.
"Do not interfere between his relationship with Fiona."
At this, I was about to laugh, but I have decided to hold it and responds to the question of this man with an honest answer.
"Sir, with all respect, I do not plan to be in a relationship with Fiona or Diana. Because those two girls are like big sisters to me, and I am working for them. All I care it is helping them in fights and chores, otherwise I would've slept on the streets."
"So, you do not love her?"
"I do, sir. But not as what couples do, as a friend."
The Father briefed a sigh of relief and he tells me he is happy that I do not want to marry his daughter because he wanted to make the marriage between Marcus and Fiona possible cause these two families are good friends and is also the fact that Marcus is going to have an inheritance giving after his Father will die, but this will not be possible due to tot the fact that his father is a strong man. And my response was not said to him. I consider this thing being quite weird for some reasons.
We chat for a few minutes about the books, my experience in the war, and also I told him about the mission I did earlier with one of my friends, and he was happy when he heard the name "Gregonson", and I don't really know why.
"Alright, boy." says the girl's father. "It was a pleasure talking with you. Now if you'll excuse me, I am heading outside and feeding these sheep See you at the dinner."
"Same, Mr. Lunderberg."
"Please kid, call me Ludovic." says the man looking like a wholesome grandpa at me before he left the room and he is heading at the sheep where he is going to feed them. "You have earned the privilege to call me by my name."
