Staying in peace - Part 2

***

A few hours later, I and with Garnet are putting our changing clothes into our closets. Actually, it is a shared closet. Garnet has taken the left side, while I took the right part. Garnet didn't have that many clothes to be expected of... obvious reasons. But I was quite embarrassed by the fact that my clothes almost fit my part of the closet.

We did manage to finish this task in a matter of a few minutes. Then, we slap our hands like good friends and leave this room. We got on the Hall, and we see Ulfred leaving his room, dressed in other type of clothes who weren't exposing his muscular mass, but it also made him feel ridiculous.

"Hello! You two want to go to do a tour of this village?"

"Weren't we supposed to stay hidden?" I asked Ulfred.

"Come on. What would happen if we take a small walk around this city?"

"...Hm..." I thought, and then I looked at Garnet, then we both agree to go on a walk to these parts of this small village. After all, what could happen in a quiet village?

We left our "vacancy" home, then all three of us are heading to do a walk around this village. Ulfred was telling us the whole walk how important it is to do a walk every day and some physical exercises in order to maintain a good health body in fighting. I listen to the things Ulfred said to the good health body like a kid listening to his mother or a big sister to his brother who is telling about his bad day.

After a few meters of walking on a paved road with rocks, hard rocks who are most likely used in construction or in creating hard weapons such as maces and shields. Ulfred sees a dragon flying up on the sky, and he told us to look at it. While we were looking at the dragon, Ulfred is telling us.

"Did you know this place used to be a Dragon area where dragons were mating and lived here? Now it is a village where humans, semi-humans and dragons are living in peace."

"What are semi-humans?" asks Garnet.

"Half animal and half humans in general. Semi-humans, it is a term so controversy that people are calling those things half-half."

"Oh..." says Garnet walking, and then she points at a human-lizard who is changing the plants from the fences. "That one, it is considered a semi-human?"

"Yes." says Ulfred in a low voice, and he tells Garnet one thing she has to remember. "It is rude pointing at people or at anything, you know that?"

"No." she says happily like a little kid, even though she is one.

We decide to walk to the path forward, when we were about to take a right turn, a beggar cut our way, he raised his dirty hand, and he said to us.

"Would you spare a small coin for me to buy some food?"

"Go and get a task." says Ulfred to the begger, after he took a quick look at him, and he told us to not give any money to him because he will try later to ask us for much more money.

We left the man and ignored him while he was trying to call for us to help him in gaining some money. It was though to ignore his crying for help, but Ulfred warned us that the man is in good health, and it doesn't have any injury. We managed to make the man left us, after he realized he wasn't getting any coin to buy at least one small bread to put it into his filthy mouth.

"Do you guys wanted to stay at a Tavern and drink something?" he asked both of us when we stopped in the front of a Tavern.

"I would like to." I say to Ulfred. "If it is not that yellow liquid."

"Beer?"

"Yes."

"Don't worry. I would buy an apple-pear juice for both of you."

We didn't comment on this one since we never had any juice like this. Not even in the Capital I dared to enter a Tavern to command something to drink because most of the buildings there are selling food and alcohol. I never drank alcohol, and I will probably never, because I heard bad rumors about this drink.

All three of us are entering the Tavern, there we see a few people there, drinking and having a conversation as a starting morning with their neighbors or close friends from this village. We go to an empty table, and from there we are sitting. Ulfred calls the owner of the Tavern, and he tells him.

"One beer and two apple-pear juice, please."

"Sure thing, sir." says the tavern owner, nothing the thing on a piece of parchment. "Now... You two are newcomers into this village?"

"Yes." says Ulfred. "Name is Chris . The boy name it is Robert, and the little girl is Ramona. They are all orphans taken by me."

"I see... Well. Welcome to Bran. I hope you are not allergic to ghosts and dragons, because you will get a lot on these lands."

"What?" asks Ramona. "Ghosts? Are you joking?"

"Wait until the night came. But they are docile, they walk on the streets and posses dogs who don't own a house... The order will come right on."

The owner of this Tavern goes to the back of the room, and he goes to prepare the stuff for us to drink. We didn't order anything to eat since we eat this morning, thanks to Garnet impressive cooking skills.

After a few minutes of waiting, the Tavern owner came with the drinks to us. He hands the ordered drink to everyone, the beer goes to Ulfred and two of those apple-pear juice will come to me and Garnet. We thanked the Tavern owner for the drinks, and we proceed to drink while we discuss some random stuff, like the books we read and the training we do. I was surprised to know that Garnet is reading books, and that Ulfred was a writer and got a few works on his kingdom but are on a language that I couldn't understand it.

"Where do you think will be in the future?" he asks Ulfred to me.

"Um... Hard to say. Especially in my case." I respond to Ulfred taking a sip from my drink.

"What do you mean?" he asks me.

I looked around, and then I told him that I will explain to him later because at this time will not be a good moment, since there is a lot of people who are looking at us.

We drank our stuff for a few minutes, then we pay the Tavern owner and head outside to continue our walk around this village.
