Cleaning Time

In the past two days, Li Wei had been trying to learn more about his wife. He could tell that she was actually sad about their death, that there was regret and guilt in her eyes every time she looked at him and his brother.

She also had a good nature and so far she sounded kind and polite. He just couldn't understand why she wanted to kill them in the first place.

He watched as their little wife turned around to look at Jun'er who was smiling with his innocent puppy eyes.

"Oh God, what happened to you?" Da Xia asked as she pulled out a dry robe from the counter and started drying his wet face.

"I was trying to draw water out of the well to help you in the kitchen but it didn't go as planned," Jun'er replied sheepishly.

Li Wei was about to get angry at Jun'er for playing around the well, but he was beaten by Da Xia who started chuckling.

"Goodness, you are so cute Jun'er. However, you don't have to do things that you don't know how to do. I'll later teach you how to draw water from the well, alright?" Da Xia asked as she tried to dry his long hair.

"Okay, I'll listen to wifey." Li Jun excitedly replied.

"Alright, now go and get changed..." Da Xia trailed off as she watched the water that was covering Li Jun vanishing into thin air.

"You are forgetting Wifey, we are no longer alive. We don't need to change clothes anymore. We can control them at our will. Maybe it's a perk of dying." Li Jun said with a soft smile. His dark eyes sparkled with joy.

The smile that was initially playing on Da Xia's lips suddenly disappeared as her ears registered Li Jun's words. The guilt once again took over her heart.

The two ghosts immediately registered the change in their wife's expression. "Don't be upset, Baobei. We don't blame you for our death." Li Jun immediately tried to make Da Xia happy.

He didn't like to see her sad. Due to some unknown reasons, seeing her sad and upset made him sad too.

Da Xia smiled softly at the ghost of Li Jun. The young prince was too innocent and good-hearted to be categorized as a demon. She felt a hand on her elbow and she turned to look at Li Wei.

Li Wei retracted his hand as he spoke softly, "You don't need to be guilty because of what happened to us. I can see that you are not a bad person, it's enough for us."

Da Xia didn't even realize that tears were rolling down her cheeks. It was only when she was engulfed in the arms of the two princes, did she realized that no matter how much she tried to deny the truth but somehow she ended up becoming the reason for the death of two kind and good people.

"Wifey! Did I make you cry? I'm a bad husband. Wifey should punish Jun'er for making her cry." Li Jun said with a pout plastered on his lips.

Da Xia looked at the sad expression on Li Jun's face and the worry that was evident in Li Wei's eyes. Immediately her heart was filled with warmth. How could these two be so kind to a person who was the reason for their death? She shook her head to get away from her thoughts while also wiping her tears away.

"Don't worry Jun'er. I'll try my best to make up for my mistakes. I just hope one day in the future, both of you will forgive me." Her eyes held a sincere promise in them as she looked at the two demon princes.

Before either Li Wei or Li Jun could open their mouth to contradict her apology, she decided to change the topic. "Come on, let's not waste any more time. Today I'll teach you guys how to cook some simple but tasty dishes."

Saying that she brought the two curious Princes around the small kitchen counter. The kitchen area was small and too crowded.

After seeing the appearance of the kitchen, Da Xia was left completely stunned.

"Forget about the lunch for now. I think we first need to clean this place so that it can at least be eligible to be called a kitchen." Da Xia said as she observed the small room with a frown.

"We are going to clean it?" Li Jun asked as he looked around the overcrowded kitchen.

"Yep, and you two are going to help me. Let's start." Saying that Da Xia rolled up the sleeves of her long pink dress and pulled her hair in a loose bun. The only silver hairpin that she had in her possession was securely placed in her bun.

"How are we going to clean it?" Li Wei asked as he looked at their wife with questioning eyes.

To be honest, according to both the Princes, the kitchen was just fine. It wasn't really good-looking or properly furnished but it still could be considered clean. However, none of them dared to voice their opinion in front of Da Xia.

The boys were not at fault here. First, neither of them had much knowledge about household work, and second, no one ever taught them how to keep their home perfectly furnished. Therefore, they were not able to see the problems in the kitchen that Da Xia's eyes noticed in one go.

"Come here and help me in moving all these things out of the kitchen. Let's place them in the courtyard for now. We will again set them up properly after cleaning the kitchen." She said as she picked up a basket and started filling it with the items that were scattered over the small kitchen counter.

The two princes were quick to help. Due to some unknown reasons, they were still able to touch the objects at their will. It seemed like their death had brought them some mysterious powers.
