A Cheesy Husband

After settling the misunderstanding between the three of them, Da Xia asked her husbands to take a break for an hour or two. On the other hand, she busied herself in cleaning the house and earning the much-needed fifty prowess points.

It took her nearly two hours to sort out the small house with only one bedroom, a small kitchen that was already shining due to the hard work they put into it the day before, the bathhouse, and the small courtyard. By the time she finished, it was already nearing noon.

[Congratulations host! You have successfully earned fifty points for cleaning up your house. I have arranged this task as your first daily quest. You will receive fifty points daily for keeping your house neat and clean, plus ten extra points on the weekend if you succeed in completing the daily quest timely for this entire week.]

The kitty-cub notified her as soon as Da Xia settled down on the porch in front of their small kitchen.

According to what the kitty just told her, she would be able to earn three hundred points in six days if she continued to complete the daily quest of cleaning her house. That did not sound too bad, right?

"Wifey! You are looking so tired..." Li Jun, who just walked out of the bedroom in search of his wife, trailed off as he stood next to her with a small frown on his handsome face.

"What? Is something wrong, Jun'er?" Da Xia asked as she noticed the little frown that was decorating his handsome face.

Li Jun hurriedly shook his head in denial as he took a seat beside her on the ground. "Nothing is wrong. It's just... I've never seen our house shining like this. You have worked hard." He complimented her before starting to massage her shoulders, making Da Xia chuckle softly.

"From whom did you learn to be so cheesy? It's definitely not something that your brother could have taught you." Da Xia asked in a teasing tone as she thought about how calm and indifferent Li Wei always appeared. He seemed like the last person who would crack jokes or compliment someone.

The difference between Li Wei and Li Jun's personalities was too big to not be noticed. While one appeared to be silent and calm, the other seemed to enjoy every single moment of his life. Unlike his big brother, Li Jun was more friendly and social.

However, according to Da Xia, Li Wei had his own merits. No matter how indifferent he usually behaved, he was soft toward her and his brother. He could be silent all the time but his eyes always revealed his emotions, at least most of the time. And he didn't try to hide his real thoughts just to make others happy.

Seeing Li Jun's cheery face and listening to his happy tone, she knew that Li Wei had brought up his younger brother with as much care and love as he could muster. She would be lying if she refused that the thought of spending her life with two such great men didn't sound tempting to her.

However, no matter how great the idea seemed, it could not become reality. Not only she had to return to her world but these two men were not even alive anymore. To think that she's actually being tempted by two demon spirits, the world would laugh at her desperation.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt a tug on her left arm before she found Li Jun wrapping both his hands around her arm as if he was hugging her arm.

"I'm just telling the truth. You really are a hard worker." Li Jun responded with a firm tone before he started patting her forehead with his sleeve to wipe away the sweat beads that were decorating her face.

"If you say so." Da Xia didn't try to stop him as it felt good to be taken care of, especially when it was such a handsome and soft-hearted guy doing the job. Li Jun was definitely the kindest and purest soul that she had ever seen.

The two of them sat there in silence for the next few minutes as Da Xia tried to let her body rest for a while.

"Where are you going?" Li Jun asked when he noticed his wifey suddenly standing up after resting for a few minutes.

"It's already noon. I'm going to prepare lunch for us." Da Xia answered before she entered the little kitchen. Li Jun followed behind her and stood next to the entrance as he watched her work.

"I've recently realized that I no longer feel hungry usually. It's probably because as a soul, I don't need food to stay alive or active." He spoke in a soft tone as he was afraid of hurting her with his words. He knew that whenever his wifey got reminded about him and his brother no longer being alive, she started feeling guilty all over again and making her feel sad was the last thing he wanted to do.

Just like he assumed, Da Xia did stop chopping the veggies as her ears registered his words and as she turned to face him, even though there was a small smile on her lips he could still see the guilt in her eyes. "Does that mean... you won't be eating lunch with me?" she asked while looking away.

"Of course, I will. I just wanted to tell you about this discovery. The noodles that you cooked in the morning tasted so good, I want to taste more of your dishes." Li Jun was quick to reply in a resolute tone and his heart warmed when he saw a genuine smile blooming on his wife's lips.

"If that's the case, then I'll cook something delicious for lunch." saying that, Da Xia turned her entire focus on the task at hand.

Later when Li Wei and Li Jun finally got to taste the fried rice with fried eggs and dumplings, they sure did fall in love with their wife's cooking skills.
