Da Xia stood frozen for a moment, staring at the two men who held her heart in their hands. She watched as the weight of her words took its toll on them, their faces falling with the realization that something was deeply wrong.

For a fleeting moment, she wished she could take it all back, pretend like nothing was amiss, and give them the answer they longed for. But she couldn't lie to them—not now, not ever.

With a soft sigh, she turned away and made to walk past them, her chest tightening as she felt the intensity of their gazes burning into her back. Just as she stepped past Li Wei, a strong hand grabbed her wrist, pulling her back to face him.
