Chapter 79

A sudden surge of painful memories flooded into the mind of Bright as he felt like his surroundings were starting to get hazy because he was getting dizzy- an effect of the headache he was experiencing. Twinquel's laughs echoed in his mind and vivid image of him, her, and Light came at him like lethal weapons. Unfortunately, it seemed like everyone don't notice that he was in pain because they were all focused on the play. He tried so hard not to panic but his whole body was shaking- and the AC was intensifying it. Just as he was about to pass out, a frail, almost inaudible voice rang in his head. Alerted, he looked up and searched for the inaudible voice while the crowd was crying because of the heart-breaking scene in front of them.

[This is Yvan. You need to calm down.]

Bright flinched and gasped at the same time upon realizing that the inaudible voice belonged to him and he realized that it was the necklace's doing- he could still it but it's powers were limited if not empty.

[That person's name is Stellar- believe me. She's not Twinquel.]

Bright tried to calm down - but his nerves were too unstable he was palpitating. [How sure are you?]

[She used to be the mission of Light and Joy and when she was hospitalized, I investigated and found out that she wasn't her. Light also realized that.]

He looked at Stellar while he was crying and palpitating and saw how good she was at acting as the heroine of the story. At first glance, he thought that they were the same person, but something about the person in front was different from Twinquel.

[Twinquel and Stellar are different. Thank you, Yvan.] Bright thought and fully calmed down as he sat back and relaxed at his seat. [But anyone could really mistake them because of her appearance. Which reminds me- is she the reason why you are hanging around here?]

[that- you bastard! (chuckles) I just want to feel like she's still here even if I am aware that she isn't.] Yvan said and laughed at himself. [I need to watch her closely. I don't have time to talk to you.]

Bright just laughed it off and he continued watching. From the information he absorbed so far, the story was about an unrequited love that the heavens itself doesn't accept. For some reasons, the story was quite familiar with him and he just concentrated on watching. He looked around and saw that Brennan and Mari were crying- and Nick by his side was trying to suppress his tears. He extended his gaze and saw that Joy was paying attention- but she wasn't crying at all.

[Hey Bright, is my manuscript good? I made that and placed it on Stellar's locker.] Yvan's voice clamored inside his mind again. Bright almost choked because of his laughter.

[what's this unrequited love it's girly!]

[That's the story of Twinquel and me, fused together with Joy and Light's] Yvan said. [Don't worry, I concealed things about chosen so I won't trigger anyone.]

[You sure are good in whatever fraud you do]

"Please Minister of all the angels! I want to be with her! I want to become a human! But my life won't mean anything if I can't b with her." the protagonist named Lumin cried and pleaded to the official in front of him while Stellar, who was acting as Elizabeth was fighting for her life on the deathbed.

"As an angel who was sent by the heavens on earth, you can have I wish but it doesn't count when it is all about saving another human being." The Minister said and placed his hands on his shoulder. "You can't do anything. This is how it's supposed to be from the beginning. You can't change the will of the heavens. Once you become a human, your memories of her will be erased and her soul will be in peace in the heavens!"

Bright grinned because it was really like the story of the chosens except for the wish because there was nothing like that. He looked at Joy again as Lumin pleaded to not have his memories erased and she started sobbing silently like she wasn't even aware of her pain. She held her hands on her chest, like recollecting something she know but can't remember.

"My heart feels heavy." She thought to herself and recollected the man in her dreams. She still failed to remember how his faced looked like- but it felt like she knew him because in her dream, she threw herself to him and he welcomed her on his arms. All she did in her dream last night was sob at the person's chest- whose face was too bright to even see his features. But it was like everything was true that she cried when she woke up and she missed the hug of that person. She remembered how it felt like to be hugged by such a peaceful being- but as she was supposed to be happy, her heart was full of pain and grievances that she cried for a person she doesn't even know.

"I want to be with you till the end of time, Eli." Lumin spoke and sent the whole audience crying.

"You are my dream and I also want to be with you but my time on earth is very limited. Don't be sad, my beloved. Even if our time is about to end, you taught me eternity in such a short period of time. You made me feel so alive even when I was well-aware that I'm dying." Elizabeth replied and touched his cheek as the cords connected to her arms almost restricted her to move. "I am so in love with you and you gave me strength when my sickness was feeing off of me. It was so great and wonderful that I existed. You saved me, my love. Thank you. Thank you."

"I don't want you to leave me! Please fight? Okay? Let's fight together till the end- until even the heavens realize how much our love is impeccable so please my love fight!" Lumin cried and the sobs of the people became more distinct- and some were shouting and motivating Elizabeth to fight, but in the end, Elizabeth's hands on his face fell and she died as Lumin's consciousness left him- and he completely forgot her. The crowd was helpless but they were all sobbing and their broken hearts broke more as the theatre became pitch-black, thinking that the play was already finished. All the people stood up- including Joy and they were complaining- but a deafening sound of a beating heart made everyone cheer as the Minister's voice echoed in the hall- granting his wish. Joy sat down and cried- as if her heart was put to ease by the ending where they got married. Bright looked at her and pain, together with guilt made him cry as she cried and tried to erase her tears. He wanted to tell her everything- but he wasn't allowed to because he was only allowed to save people in his necklace.

The people cheered and all sat back down, relieved that the story had a beautiful ending that they were all sighing and talking to each other about their insights on the theatre. Brennan was so moved that he was still crying even after the performance- same with Mari. The next group of performers was a choir and their voices combined made the whole crowd silent and all their ears were happy to hear such amazing sound. The next performers were their school idols who sang beautiful songs and made the entire hall cheering for them- and Bright, Nick, and Nathan became instant fanboys because Mari was a new member, yet she was already on the stage, performing alongside the experienced and esteemed idols.

After all the acts, they were all relieved and their eyes were full because of the entire show but the two- Bright and Brennan were pouting and disappointed because they can't participate on the games which were really fun and entertaining to watch. However, after the games, the emcees told them that the program in the auditorium ended there and then but for some reasons that made the two outsiders wonder was that the people were excited. Bright asked Nathan what it was about and Nick smiled at him. "It's a secret dude."

The people rushed out of the venue in an orderly manner and their circle held hands to help themselves to not lose anyone. They were led into the lake and the people there were already gathered and lanterns were floating on the lake- and it made all of the people grasp- and a band- which was really great was performing on the podium in the middle of the lake- which wasn't there just a while ago when they went to their school and lights were all over the place that it looked like a place of enchantment. Bright looked around and saw all people smiling left and right- suddenly, they all started counting down- and the officials were giving out light sticks when fireworks started to decorate the entire sky. The people all went cheerful as they watched the lights in the sky and Bright, who- for the first time saw fireworks literally cried as he looked up.

"It's so beautiful!" Bright screamed- but he saw Joy in his peripheral vision, also crying as she watched the Lights. However, she wiped her tears and pushed herself to be happy. 'she's mentally strong' he thought. There were a bit of a program and the people from different families went and brought their household specialties for the entire village to share- and everyone ate to their fullest.

In the end, the program was finished but all the people were satisfied at what they saw- especially the first timers- Bright and Brennan, who will be spending another night on that village- but on Nick's house. They took their bags together Doggy who was very pleased to see Brennan again and they took their leave after they said goodbye to Joy's household.

"It was such a beautiful experience for us." Bright said as they went on Joy's gate to say their goodbyes because they'd be leaving tomorrow. "Thank you so much for welcoming us in your home."

"It's not a problem. You can come anytime you want- just notify us!" Joy said and smiled genuinely. "You can look forward to next year's Christmas since Nathan'll be the head of the student council. He'll run for the position next year."

"Thank you! Please expect us!" Brennan said and waved goodbye as they all left Joy's house. Joy also went in and helped her Nana to prepare the table for their dinner. However, she can't help herself show her true feelings so she went to the bathroom first to cool her head off.
