Something's Coming

Right now, we are in the back of the school cafeteria. There aren't that much demon slaves at the back of the buildings, so we got here safely.

"Wait, I hear something..."

I said that and my team quieted down- my team consisted of me, Thea, and two other female who were given blessings suitable for doing recon. We could hear the sound of battle coming from inside the building.

I opened a hole in the building that was small enough for us to see inside. There we saw six students fighting against three slaves. The slaves surrounding the students didn't attack, it was like they were giving the fight to the three slaves. There were also slaves lying all around the ground unmoving.

The fight was still ongoing and it looks like they can't beat the slaves. The slaves were also given some favors so their strengths vary from each other. One slave was moving very fast that it was hard to react on time, One slave was using its long claws to block the incoming attacks, and the last one has a big stomach and was holding a butcher's knife on its hand.

"Call the others."

I looked at the two girls and told them. We left the others in the back because there were so many of us and it will be easier for us to be seen if we moved together in large numbers.

I looked back in the hole to see the situation inside and at that moment, I saw two of the students were killed by the slaves. One couldn't react on time and was pushed by the fast moving slave into the spectating slaves. The other one was impaled to death by the slave with long claws.

"Whats happening?"

Athena and the others finally arrived. I immediately gave my orders.

"Everyone, get ready to fight... 'Thea make a hole in the wall so that we can get in."

Everyone got ready. I also readied to swing my blade/former baseball bat.

"It's done!"

Althea told us after making a hole that was enough for three people to go in at once. Once the hole was done, I immediately swing my sword at the slave with long claws. There was still some distance before I can reach them so the sword tip disappeared and reappeared at the back of the slave's head. Just as it was about to hit the long clawed slave, the fast moving slave pushed the long clawed slave.

While that was going on, Athena was commanding our comrades.

"Everyone! Support those students...! 'Thea, make pitfalls under the surrounding slaves!"

The spectating slaves fell into the pitfalls and were impaled by the spears made of stone. The pitfall trap surely is the best.. too bad, only those that can control the ground can do it, in our group there is only me and 'Thea who can do that.

The three slaves were so close to the students so we can't use the pitfalls or the students might also fall into it. We surrounded the three slaves and the remaining four students.

The slaves attacked us. It seems like they thought that they don't stand a chance and became frustrated. Their attacks became easier for us to handle.

After the fight, the others packed all the foods that they could find into the backpacks. My party left our backpacks for the others to fill- me and our party of four were now standing watch.

While the others were still busy stuffing foods, Wendy a member of my party suddenly said.

"Something's coming."

We all readied ourselves. She had a blessing that can identify the movements of air so we didn't doubt her. 'Thea and I used the skills she used and we can feel some movements in the air.

After waiting for a while, we could hear some whispers in the direction where something was coming.

".. hey, it looks like there's nothing in here."

".. even so, we shouldn't let our guards down."

After we heard that, I walked out to meet them. They were shocked to see me appear in front of them.

"There's so many of us, it will be harder to move."

While we were still packing foods, Almond suddenly said that. Lars agreed to him.

"You're right."

Everyone heard what they said. After coming inside the cafeteria we saved 4 students and then 3 others came here making it 7 in total. Added with the original members of 17, there are 24 of us here.

With this number it will be hard to move without getting noticed by slaves.

Athena suddenly told the new members.

"Show us your status. We will plan how we move once we see your status."

The ones we saved immediately nodded their heads and didn't make a fuss. But the three who came to the cafeteria last didn't call their status.

"Why would we listen to you huh?"

"That's right! Who made you the leader?"

"You girls should just stay quiet."

We all looked at them coldly. Almond told them in a low voice, the others also followed

"It should be you who should stay quiet."

"Don't you dare say that to her." "She's a great leader."

The ones we saved just now also joined in.

"It was only because of her that we were saved." "He's right, we saw how they followed her orders. It was with her leadership that they defeated those monsters easily just now."

The three felt threatened right now. They didn't want to say anything anymore and just showed their status.

We read their statuses and begun our planning.

There wasn't anything special with their blessings, but two from the ones we saved had blessings that were great for scouting.

"Let's put the two of them at the rear, you guys will take care of watching the back..."

After I said that, they both nodded. I continued.

"..Also 'Thea you will be their leader, should things go badly at the rear at least we can communicate with each other by controlling air."

That's right, we can also control the movement of the air to transmit our voice to others at a distance. Even a small whisper can be heard from far away. We can also control the air so that the message can't be heard by the ones in between the sender and receiver.
