Chapter 7: The Final Trial

As we walked through the gate, I couldn't help but feel an eary presence. Thats when we saw a man sitting upon a throne. His armor was illuminating the dimly lit room. At that moment, he spoke to us.( You've made it thus far have you. I have to say in all the time Ive been here, not one man nor woman has made it to this trial. Your different aren't you, the power that resonates from within you, isn't yours alone. Do you who can not use his own power, really think you can pass my trial. If so stand before me, and declare it so. I await your answer.) This power you speak of, your right it's not mine alone. But it's the power of all that I care for, its the power of hope thats placed in me. This trial you've given to me, I humbly accept. He smiled standing tall, shining like a beacon of strength. Suddenly the room was covered in a void once more. I saw a image from my past, it was the battle from Merdock. The image of my squad mate's being impaled, almost as if it was being replayed over, and over again. All I could wonder was why, the pain scorching my heart was immense. Thats when Another image started to play, but it was not a relic of the past. More like something of the future, Mira dying in my arm's. But why, the pain was growing stronger. With the feeling of drowning in the ocean. As I fell deeper into that ocean, I felt my life itself draining slowly from me. Why try anymore, its all over now. My strength was almost all but gone now. Sorrow consuming my very soul. Suddenly I stared to hear a distant voice, reaching out to me. It slowly grew stronger, was it Mira who called for me. I knew it to be so, but I saw her dying in my arms. At that moment, I realized that what I had was nothing but a trick. The voice was getting louder, and my strength was getting stronger. I wil not fail, because there is still so much I have yet to do. Once again a light began to shine forth from me. Was it the power of Ezra, no its was the light of hope. It battled with the oud surrounding me, and eventually overtook it. Once again I was back in the room with Mira. The man stood before us, and began to speak.( Well done young hero, you are the first to ever complete this challenge. In my last moments here on this earth, I will share with you this blade. It goes by the name dragonforge, I once used it to cut down a thousand men. The sword absorbs your power, and releases it upon your enemies. I leave this sword to you, so I may finally rest. My pure strength has kept Me alive this long, but as all I must now give into the cold grasp of death. Now go hero, and end this long faught war, I wish the best of luck on your journey.) As he sat down, he ceased to be. It was incredible when he died he was one-hundred-seventytwo. I couldn't even begin to imagine the strength, it must've taken to hang on to his mortality that long. Now with this sword, I know that a long journey awaits Me. But one thing I know for shure is, I dont have to walk it alone. I smiled at Mira, and we left. We stoped back at the inn for the night, once again We slept together. As she stared at Me, holding Me ever so close. Happiness is all I could feel, wishing this moment would never end. Loosing consciousness at last, this time there was no void. Only a light, was it the light of hope, or maybe something more.
