Little Sister

Wen Ling did not have to wait long, ten minutes later, her room door opened. To be completely honest, Wen Ling was still surprised at the fact that she had traveled back in time. Seeing her mother and her sister right now, in front of her, sparked a little nostalgia. Back then, everything was so pure and innocent, or at least Wen Ling used to think so. I won't ever allow myself to be treated like that again thought Wen Ling as she watches her mother quickly make her way to her bedside.

"What have you done now?!" Her mother yelled.

Wen Ling couldn't help but smirk. This was her mother, her biological mother. Standing besides her hospitalized daughter, all she could think of is ask her what she had done? Where's the care? Where's the kindness and worry that a mother would have for their daughters?

"I have no idea, why don't you ask the doctor?" Replied Wen Ling slightly sarcastically.

"How dare you speak to your mother like that?! Do you think acting dumb will get you anywhere?!" Her mother continued to yell at her.

"Dear mother, please calm down! I'm sure big sister Wen Ling just had an accident, let's not be too hard on her." Said Wan Mei gently as she gave Wen Ling a smile. A fake smile.

"Well isn't it my beloved little sister? How kind of you to visit me when you're already so busy?" Wen Ling said. If she wants to pretend then I'll just play along, soon I'll let her have a taste of her own medicine thought Wen Ling as she smiled back.

Suddenly, her mother's phone started ringing. Giving Wen Ling one last scold, her mother picked it up and walked out the door.

"Say big sister, are you in any pain? I heard you had an accident while trying to shoot a scene for your movie. You know acting is a pretty dangerous career, maybe you should quit." Wan Mei said as she held Wen Ling's hand.

Wen Ling almost couldn't contain her laughter. Her sister was already trying to get her out of the entertainment industry. This was exactly how Wan Mei was able to make the past me quit so willingly Wen Ling recalled. However, Wen Ling knew this was all a trick. She could almost remember it like it was yesterday. The day Wen Ling gave up her career, Wan Mei took the opportunity to replace her sister in the film that Wen Ling was casted for. The entire time, Wen Ling was Wan Mei's rival. Wan Mei had everything. She was most loved by their parents. She always gets the latest fashion. She always has on the best cosmetics. She was spoiled ever since she was born. Still, Wan Mei was missing one thing. One thing that Wen Ling had but she didn't, it was fame.

Wen Ling began her acting career back in high school. Some can say it was like her talent. Wen Ling soon became a well known actress and was casted in many great films. Wan Mei, on the other hand, thinking that she could do better, decided to take up acting as well. Unfortunately, Wan Mei didn't end up as well accepted as her older sister. This led Wan Mei to hate Wen Ling even more. Wan Mei, at a young age as a result of her parents' spoiling, came to believe that she should have everything in the world. Fame was one of them. To think that her older sister was more famous and popular than her caused Wan Mei to harbor ill feelings. If I can't have it, I will forcefully take it! That was exactly what Wan Mei had done.

Wen Ling will never forget the sneer on Wan Mei's face during her wedding. Looking at her sister now, Wen Ling knows history will repeat itself if she does nothing.

"Accident? Dear sister, where did you hear about such thing? I would NEVER quit acting." Said Wen Ling, smiling again.

After saying that, Wen Ling could see the irritation behind her sister's smile. Their mother then came back into the room with crossed arms.

"Wan Mei, let's go. I got a new advertisement deal for you. You can talk to your sister later." Their mother said impatiently.

Getting up, Wan Mei waves goodbye and leaves with their mother. Thank god they left, I couldn't stand her pretentious face anymore thought Wen Ling as she lets out a sigh. Picking up her phone, Wen Ling sees another message from her manager. Since Wan Mei left, I guess it's time for me to leave too Wen Ling thought as she took a look at the time. Time to get the revenge that I deserved.
